    Our Stay at Kingfisher Cottage was made even better by our warm & Friendly Hosts ,ALAN & PAM , They made us feel really welcome , The accommodation was excellent very clean & comfortable, we also made Friends with the resident goats PENNY & VICKY Lovely watching all the Sheep & young Lambs , we will Definitely be going Back again Dennis & Brenda

Folkestone 5 miles; Hythe 6 miles; Canterbury 12 miles; Dover 14 miles; Ashford 15 miles; Ramsgate 21 miles; Whitstable 22 miles.

The village of Lyminge lies in southeast Kent and is only five miles from Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel, on the road passing through the Elham Valley. Lyminge is surrounded by farmland and ancient forests. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna and wildlife in the surrounding area, including badgers, various species of deer and wild boar which are thought to have escaped from farmed populations. It is a thriving village with lots of local shops, a pub serving excellent food which also hosts regular event evenings, a coffee shop, a hairdressers and a library. The parish church is well worth a visit, being the oldest building in the village; it has stood since 633AD and has had a rich and varied past. Lyminge has been the focus of many archaeological digs in recent years, and jewellery, weapons and glassware have all been uncovered. Numerous footpaths and bridleways criss-cross the meadows and woods around this lovely part of Kent, so why not pack a picnic, dust off the metal detector, and set off to explore ancient woodland and see if you can find a piece of the past? Lyminge is perfectly situated for trips to historic towns and the coast.
