“The site itself was a little disappointing.”
It was supposed to be dog friendly we were allowed to walk the dogs on the grass of the site on condition we cleaned up after the dogs, this was very good. The disappointment came had we wanted to walk the dogs off site, the roads were NOT suitable for two ladies over 70 and two toy poodles to walk safely. Without a car visitors would be stuck on the site the whole of the holiday, we enjoyed our week but left the site each day to visit various tourist sites in the area.
The facilities onsite were as advertised, but the shop was not well stocked, late on in the season we were told. Parking was not particularly well laid out, some of which proved to be permanent residents on the site. Had we known that people lived on site permanently we may not have chosen that site to holiday in.
Moonstone Lodge was comfortable and I have to commend the owner on the home from home that they had arranged for us. We tried to clean the van each day and to be aware of all the facilities that were installed. All cooking utensils that you could dream of were in that van
Cleaning clothes, cleaning products were all there. The beds were comfortable and the bedding more than adequate, the owners had put electric blankets on each bed for us as the weather had turned colder. Having two small dogs with us, we decided to hoover the van, there was a Hoover, a fully charged small bag less type. We noted that it was struggling to pickup anything on the carpets and on checking the machine, it was obvious that the brushes had never been cleaned. We took 15 mins to cut the accumulated hair, cottons, elastic bands, plus embedded dust from the rollers. We were disgusted by this and left the evidence for the owners to find in a small plastic bag.
