What guests are saying
The Lingy is a modern pod with lovely up to date decor.
It looks very new and everything seemed to be furnished to a good standard. It overlooks the river Greta and provides a lovely view when sitting outside your accommodation. The site is in a great location for exploring Keswick and the fells. The old railway track provides a great walk to local areas and is great for bikes, prams and walkers. The Lingy provides a kitchen and seating area, a bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom is literally a bed and tv. If you are a person over six feet tall you may struggle with the length of the bed and the bathroom though. The toilet does not provide a great deal of space from the wall and is quite difficult to manoeuvre for a taller person. The kitchen provides a good range of equipment although strangely there was only one shelf in the oven which made it difficult to cook a meal for a family to all eat at the same time. We also found that we needed to clean around a few areas before using them. The pod was generally clean and tidy but there were definitely a few areas which had been missed. The accommodation was a good base for our 5 days in the lakes but we just felt that the site lacked any personal touch. The reception wasn’t always open when stated and there were never many staff around on site. No-one ever asked us once during our stay if everything was ok or if we needed anything. There is a new cafe block with a few activities such as pool and a soft play area, which is beautifully furnished. This did seem quite luxurious! This however, was only open at limited times and usually through the day when most people were out for the day. It was not open for breakfast or later in the day when we returned and would have appreciated a drink and a cake. The bin area is also far too small for the site. It was overflowing for the whole of our visit and we ended up having to throw many things into general waste which should have been recycled. A modern site like this needs to provide much better facilities for recycling. I don’t want to sound overly critical. We did enjoy our stay and the location is great but we have stayed in much cheaper places which have made us feel much more welcome. It is a lovely site which just lacks those little extras which make your stay much more memorable and make you want to return. Our luxury pod didn’t offer many of the luxuries which other sites have offered. Small gestures can often mean a lot. Unfortunately, none of these were not offered to us at Low Briery.
What a wonderful slice of peace and tranquility wrapped in a beautiful compact lodge perfect in every way.
Will definitely be back soon
