Clean and comfortable with everything you would need on holiday. Ideal location for Keswick.

We loved our stay at Derwent Lodge.

The lodge is really well equipped. Ideal location with a short walk in to Keswick. The decking is nice and even has a private garden. Really liked the fruit loaf, milk and jam that was left by Marie the owner. Really nice touch. The only thing we could fault was the double mattress was a little too soft in our room. Other than that it was perfect. Thank you.

In a great spot handy to a park, pub and the town. Lodge very clean and comfortable, good sized veranda with fantastic views. Will definitely book again. Thanks !

As keen walkers, Derwent Lodge was a perfect base for our week in the Lake District.

We found it to be extremely comfortable and clean, with a nice private outdoor seating area where we could relax. Being only a short walk into the centre of Keswick it was ideal, meaning we could easily stroll into town for drinks and food in the evening. Overall we highly recommend Derwent Lodge.

Stayed at the Derwent Lodge as a family of 4 adults.

The Lodge was perfect, well presented on arrival with a lovely welcome tray of teas, coffees, plum loaf and a pint of milk in the fridge. It has all the amenities you’d expect. Good sized bathroom, large wardrobe space and comfy beds, mattress was a little soft for our liking but had a good nights sleep.Situated at the entrance of Burnside Park it as its own small garden area, which was great for letting the dogs out. The decking is also gated. Contacting the owner was easy, as we had a few WiFi problems on arrival but all sorted by the next morning. The site is approx a 20 minute walk into Keswick with a pub and cafe for breakfast. Would highly recommend and will book again in the future.

Excellent lodge!

Very clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Had everything we needed, and a nice surprise of plum bread, biscuits, jam, and fresh milk on arrival. Was great watching different species of birds, coming to feed in the garden. Only a short 10 - 15 mins walk into Keswick, where there's an abundance of shops to suit everyone. Also, The Pheasant Inn pub, 5 mins walk away, does lovely meals, nice ales, and is dog friendly. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Derwent Lodge. Would we return again? Absolutely YES!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely little lodge.

It’s situated on a lovely quiet site and is a short walk from Keswick. The lodge itself was absolutely spotless and the welcome milk, plum bread etc were a lovely touch! We enjoyed the private garden area and there was a large enclosed decking area to sit out on. The beds were comfy and although it’s a small lodge it has everything you could need for a lovely week. We will definitely return.

Derwent lodge was spotless,it was decorated beautifully, and had everything you could possibly need.

It was approx 10-15 min walk into keswick and its location was ideal for getting to Windermere, Ambleside etc.Marie the owner had compiled a huge folder of maps and information for long and short walks,which was very helpful, I would definitely recommend Derwent lodge.

The Lodge was lovely, immaculately clean, warm and comfortable and well appointed to Keswick and surrounding areas. There was plenty of local information, maps and walks in folders. Marie the owner was easy to contact and very helpful. Would recommend this lodge

Our second visit to Derwent Lodge, it is a fantastic lodge, warm , cosy , beautifully decorated.

We had fabulous weather, after 2 days rain , the lodge was amazing to come home too. Stormy loves roaming round the garden and snuggling up after her days walking and swimming in the lakes. Everything perfect, loved the plum loaf toasted for breakfast. Safe short walk into Keswick and loads of beautiful walks and hikes from the lodge. Missing it already, we will be back next year.

A lovely lodge that was exactly what I expected.

The owner contacted me the day before check-in, and also on the day of check-in to make sure we'd arrived and had everything we needed which was a very thoughtful touch. There was a lovely welcome pack and as it was Christmas week we had a Christmas tree, crackers and a bottle of bubbly waiting for us! Again a lovely touch. The kitchen was very well equipped for this type of lodge - more so than previous lodges we've stayed at.

My second year in a row staying here in November with my dog.

Everything was perfect, comfort and cleanliness like being at home. Welcome snacks and milk in the fridge is a lovely touch. We'll be back again next year. Thank you Marie

Derwent lodge was lovely, well equipped, comfortable, warm and clean, but it is the first lodge on the site with only a hedge to protect from a very busy road and roundabout, this was causing constant traffic noise and therefore couldnt sit outside and enjoy a peaceful stay .

We had a wonderful time staying in Derwent Lodge.

The outside area, although no gate, was a real blessing for the dog. It was lovely sitting on the veranda watching the robin, blue tits and squirrel eat the nuts.The lodge was immaculate and the bed and sofa were very comfortable. In the evening it was great to sit and relax watching the Smart TV or just enjoying watching the birds. The internet connection was great. The tea, coffee, plum bread and milk were a lovely , thoughtful welcome as were the toiletries in the bathroom. Derwent Lodge is ideally situated for walking into Keswick and for driving to the Lakes, coast and Cockermouth ( where you will find a Lidl and an Aldi, if needed). The only issue we had ,was that the week went too fast! So much stunning scenery to take in and see! We highly recommend staying at Derwent Lodge and look forward to returning in the future! A wonderful week!

We were comfortable and happy with the accommodation overall but did find the lodge very dark even through the day.

The kitchen was small but well equipped with added extras of tea,coffee, milk etc. We did find a lack of space for putting food items away and freezer compartment was very small and needed defrosting so a waste of space to be honest.

Great well kept cabin in an ideal location.

Best of both worlds, in the middle of nature, yet 15 walk into town. Spectacular views of the fells and local wildlife. Advertised as enclosed garden, however only partially. We have booked again for next year ! Thanks for a great stay.

Fabulous logde, warm,cosy and beautiful views.

Tea, coffee and plum bread a lovely treat. Lovely to sit out on the balcony to watch the birds and pheasants round the feeders. Lovely garden although not enclosed as advertised, but safe if you go out and supervise your dogs.my two dogs loved it. My only downside was although the shower was big with plenty of hot water it could do with being a power shower so after a fabulous day of hiking you can have a rewarding shower. But I have to say that’s the only thing I would improve. Marie, keep doing what you are doing is fantastic. We will be back!!!! Thank you

Lovely lodge, very clean, comfortable with everything you need including a really good welcome tray inc tea coffee milk and cake.

Being so close to the bypass does mean there is road noise but it also means that you can walk into Keswick

Fab lodge in ideal spot for walking and beautiful scenery.

10/15 minute walk into Keswick centre. Fully equipped with everything you would need. Highly recommend. Lovely welcome tray with prosecco, mince pies, jam, tea, coffee, milk was a lively touch. Definitely will book again

Our stay was pretty perfect on the whole.

The property was immaculately clean and the facilities were great. The welcome mince pies and milk in the fridge were a lovely touch. Marie was quick to message about some rugs that hasn't been placed properly in one of the rooms. It was no big deal, but nice to know the owner was making sure everything was perfect. The bed was comfy the sofa was comfy, it had a very cozy feel, very comfortable. The only negative of the stay however, was that every weekday afternoon, someone was cutting up timber with a chainsaw for hours at a time right outside the accommodation. Meaning relaxing after a long morning walk was impossible. There was also some obvious staining on one of the bath towels, which is pretty minor as there were others to use. Also a dirty tray and foil was left in the oven from the previous visitor, again, minor but something worth mentioning. These are the only reasons I didn't give 5 stars. I'd also like to suggest the information folder has a bit of tlc.

A fabulous holiday lodge in a perfect location for exploring the lakes.

The accommodation was perfect for us and we loved coming home after a day out on the fells. Thanks you for the plum bread it was delicious. We definitely book again.

Property was very comfortable.

Heating worked well, as did the shower. Lodge is in a very convenient place for Keswick. Very quiet, with nice quiet neighbours (sheep and cows). The tea/coffee tray was a very welcome. The plum bread was very nice. Just a nice touch, as were the toiletries in the bath room.

We really enjoyed our stay in derwent cottage.

It was so clean, comfortable, and luxurious. The beds/pillows and bedding were so comfortable especially the pillows. Everything you could possibly need was in the cottage for a perfect self catering holiday. It was very peaceful even though we were right by the busy road as you couldn’t really hear any traffic from inside . The location was very tranquil a bit of a walk into town. the nearest pub the pheasant inn is a two minute walk and the food is absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend! Some lovely walks from the cottage. We had a lovely comfortable stay. Only negative was when it rained at night it seemed to keep us awake a bit with it bouncing of the roof/ and decking.

Lovely lodge, extremely well equipped and clean, nice quiet site and loved the views, only problem was not with the lodge but the price, we paid £1800 for 7 nights but when checked prices for next year it is around £990 for 7 nights and £1900 for 14 nights we don’t understand the price difference, was there a mistake or some other reason, I have sent messages but as yet no explanation

A wonderful place to stay .

Derwent lodge was immaculate and comfortable, with absolutely everything needed for a perfect holiday. It’s situated in a great place for walking into Keswick (through beautiful Fitz Park) where there are cafes , restaurants, shops and of course , the Lake . The lodge has secure decking ( great for dogs ) with patio furniture and a lovely private garden. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a quiet , peaceful holiday with plenty going on within a short drive ( or walk ) .

We’ve had a lovely time at Derwent , was like home from home!

Everything spotlessly clean & all you need there. On arrival there was Plum loaf, milk in the fridge and Marie arrived with jam for us and big bag of crisps which went down nicely!!

Lovely cosy lodge equipped and maintained to a very high standard.

Only issue I had was description of garden being enclosed, this was one of the reason to book this accommodation as I have 2 small dogs, I expected to be able to let them roam freely around the garden but couldn’t as not fully enclosed .

Apart from this I would recommend to anyone .

We had a lovely time at the lodge everything was great it was very much home to home,the welcome pack was a lovely surprise and much appreciated we will be back, thankyou for helping us enjoy our stay.

Absolutely loved my stay here at Derwent lodge.

Lots of storage, comfortable beds, clean and a well equipped kitchen. The lodge is so close to wonderful walks and a fantastic pub, which I’d highly recommend but book as it gets busy - The pheasant inn. A walk quick walk through Fitz park takes you to the centre of Keswick. My only criticism is I booked the week were road works at night were happening, on the roundabout but other than that, the noise from the traffic wasn’t an issue. I left music on at night to drown out the noise and this seemed to work. A lovely lady who stays at the lodges two times a year assured me this was unfortunate and never normally happens. Roadworks can’t be helped and it didn’t ruin our trip, as previously mentioned the lodge is great.

Cake on arrival (thank you) Excellent location for easy 5 minute walk into Keswick town centre. Wonderful views of Skidaw. Plenty of room for the car. Comfortable beds, slept like logs. Definitely booking this lodge again !!!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Derwent Lodge, it was spotlessly clean.

The sofas and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. It was a lovely touch to find a pint of milk, plum loaf and pot of jam awaiting us on arrival. Heating was good and the shower poweful snd hot. For the rainy evenings it was useful to have a smart tv and wifi with streaming availability. Although the Lodge is very near a main road the slight noise of traffic did not detract from the lovely views and it was great to be in such short walking distance from Keswick. We would definitely stay here again. My only constructive criticism would be that there is no recycling bins on the site, which was a shame.

We are a family of four - 2 adults 2 kids.

This is an immaculately clean and extremely well equipped lodge. The beds and linen were so clean and comfortable. We use caravan / lodges a lot around the country and always take some of our own kitchen stuff (because we normally find things aren’t good enough to cook with and lack of condiments etc ). We needn’t have bothered as it was all provided and of a high standard. To sum up , immaculately clean, very comfortable, very well equipped and superbly located within short walk to Keswick (also excellent decking area which we didn’t use due to weather /time of year). Highly recommended.

Had a lovely holiday at Derwent Lodge.

We don't normally stay in these facilities as we have a touring caravan, everything was just perfect we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Location was perfect with amazing views we actually saw a spotted woodpecker in the garden, there are plenty of walks in the area and so close to Keswick Town centre. The lodge was immaculately clean white linen and towels says it all. Definitely returning next year.

A fantastic lodge in a great location.

Very comfortable beds and well equipped. We will be back. Plus we got to see a red squirrel in the garden!

Derwent Lodge was just right for what we were looking for with great facilities and lovely welcome gift.

Garden was great for watching the wildlife and we even managed to sit out on the decking in October. Close to Keswick centre and easy to walk to. Keswick is very dog friendly which made such a change for us. Would definitely recommend and hope to have another stay in the future.

25th September, 2023 We have just returned from a short holiday at Derwent Lodge.

We were delighted with the very high standard of furnishings, cleanliness, comfort and the great attention to detail from the sustantial welcome tray to the binoculars hanging by the front door! Derwent Lodge is ideally situated for exploring Keswick and the beautiful North Lakes. We look forward to returning to the Lodge in the very near future. Bob and Yvonne Bolton (Preston)

Derwent Lodge was excellent.

Clean, and well presented. Beds comfortable and kitchen had everything you needed. Plenty garden space and decking should the weather be good for sitting outside. Welcome pack of milk, fruit loaf, and jam delicious. In the bathroom were miniature toiletries which were appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lodge.

The lodge itself was spotless, extremely comfortable and had everything you need. It’s situation / access to places near and far was great! The outdoor decking space and garden space was superb , with cracking views! Can’t wait to return

Excellent accommodation with all facilities as home from home.

The shampoo soap and body washes a nice touch. Brilliant location. Very relaxing or great for exploring. The Pheasant Inn was a 5 min walk but would advise booking. The Packhorse Inn in Keswick did excellent food too. The fish and chips were to die for. Booths in Keswick was a must for all essentials but remember your £1 coin for the car park (refundable) All in all we had a fantastic week here. Would highly recommend

It was clean and very comfortable. We arrived to a little tea tray with plumb bread , milk jam and Kendal mint cake .. a nice touch! Would definitely stay again. Jon , Ines and Nellie the Labrador x

Lodge was nice and comfy, location was very good and close to Keswick.

Would have given higher rating but was disappointed with the outside deck area. The table was filthy and didn’t look like it had been cleaned for some time, the chair covers we the same very dirty and the box they were stored in had some discarded underwear!!
