This was a perfect place for us - we don't like busy places with lots of people.
This is 2 caravans on a working farm. Peaceful. Well maintained. Has everything you need. Great quiet location. Near to Whinlatter Forest which is great. We also did Scafell from here and Catbells and other fells. Keswick is nearby. You need to drive everywhere but it suited us perfectly. Caravan was clean and has everything we needed. Bed was comfy (a little hard...) Enough equipment in the kitchen to cook. Really enjoyed our stay here and would thoroughly recommend it. We will definitely return. Views from the caravan are beautiful. Only thing was there was loads of flies - probably because it's a farm. Take fly spray. There's Sainsbury's and Lidl about ten mins drive away. Fab place. Highly recommended.
All in all a great stay.
Beautiful location and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. Could do with a bread knife (we struggled to find anything to cut bread!), a couple more small plates and perhaps some hooks or rails to hang damp towels. The two beds in the small twin room had very noticeable springs just beneath the surface which our girls were not keen on. I'm sure these details can be resolved fairly easily though. The owner was very friendly and offered us the use of an outbuilding to store our motorbikes which we had brought on a trailer. Very good of him. Definitely recommend despite my minor moans!
Such a lovely quiet spot for our holiday - the bird songs were gorgeous.
The bed was very comfortable and lovely to have all weather chairs and table on the enclosed decking. We walked to the village shop from the caravan and Whinlatter forest was very close by. It would have been nice to have some table lamps for the evening and a coffee table would be a good addition.
