Glaramara

I have stayed in this park and indeed this lodge a few times and in May 2025 I did think it was in need of a good clean, there were items left by the previous visitor , and the kettle didn't work, and the shower was really slow and Luke warm now May 2026, the same issues, not very clean, found an empty food tray under the sofa when i pushed it back to hoover.

the shower was luke warm and no force. in general the whole cabin could do with a really good decent clean. I diddnt say anything in 2025 only to report the kettle and the left clothing to the cleaning woman. But I have this cabin booked in August and i worry it will be the same. so felt i had to say something this time

Lovely lodge, able to leave car and walk into Keswick and go on walks from lodge.

We've had a lovely, relaxing holiday at Glaramara Lodge.

The lodge was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. A short walk to the pub for food and about 15 mins walk into Keswick centre. We loved our welcome gift, it made our first night special. If I was to criticise anything it would be the pillows that were flat and the shower was very slow. But that hasn't stopped us booking again for next year. Thank you so much for our stay.

This is a cozy lodge.

It is well located on the edge of site and is walking distance to the centre of Keswick. The accommodation itself is comfortable and well equipped. The shower was a little unpredictable. Bed linen a bit tired. We enjoyed our time at Glaramara.

Second time staying here and won’t be the last.

Already looking at dates to book up next September. Lodge is perfectly situation for a short walk into Keswick Centre, spacious, cosy and with beautiful views of Latrigg from the outside decking. We honestly had the best week here. Everything you need for a wholesome stay. Thanks again, love Jane, Jo, Enzo and Nelly (our dogs who equally had a fantastic time!)

Second visit to this lodge and still very comfortable and enjoyable.

I thought the inner rim of the washing machine could be cleaner also the seal on the dishwasher was a bit grubby. The toilet seat is strange don't think it's the right one for the toilet, very small. Beside these minor things would stay again.

Another lovely stay at Glaramara.

It's a lovely, comfortable and clean place to stay. Well stocked kitchen. Also very convenient for lovely walks and only a 15 minute walk into the Town via Fitz Park.

Love coming to burnside and this lodge is great we have been to a few on this park and this one twice but won’t be our last .

We had a great relaxing holiday.

We love Keswick and the lodge views are spectacular. The location is perfect for a short stroll into the town or head off into the countryside. The lodge was well stocked with everything we needed and comfortable. We were lucky with the weather too. We will definitely go back and would recommend.

Another wonderful stay at Glaramara.

It's a home from home. Very clean and everything you need. Looking forward to our next stay.

Very well equipped only fault steps not very wide care had to be taken going up and down we had a wonderful stay and would use it again .

The lodge was warm & welcoming when we arrived.

There was plenty of space and was very well equipped. Unfortunately the freezer compartment was frozen up and the shower tray was slippery.

The only problem was the ice compartment in the larder fridge, it was too iced up .

There is nowhere to hang wet gear after a walk on the fells Cabin desperately needs a row of coat hooks with radiator below There is nowhere to put muddy boots either

The property was very clean and comfortable.

It is so well stocked with kitchenware. It is in a very picturesque setting. It has a lovely decked area to sit out on. Ideally situated with a 15/20 minute walk to the centre of Keswick and Derwent water Lake. It is close to main roads between Penrith and Cockermouth. Easy road access to both the North and South Lakes.

Just got back from a 7 day holiday at Glamara holiday Lodge we had a Lovely stay there everything you need is provided in the Lodge and it is situated where you can see the views l would definitely recommend and would go back again it is in an ideal location for the town and the walks and also nice and peaceful.

Did think from the picture it was further up the park . But lovely private balcony. A bit traffic noise . Found everything we needed . Would book again

Excellent accommodation within an easy walk into Keswick.

Clean and comfortable as usual.

Great base for exploring the northern lakes. Very well located, being just two minutes drive from Keswick town centre. Will be back .

On arrival we found the property easy to find and easy to access.

The lodge is a fantastic well equipped holiday home. We took our pet dog Alfie and there was plenty of room to place his medium sized crate in the main living area, and an enclosed veranda for him to watch the livestock in the neighbouring field with interest! Only a matter of minutes away from Keswick on foot, we explored the whole town and surrounding area. We enjoyed it so much we have rebooked for next year.

The lodge was very well equipped, clean and comfortable but the overriding smell of wet dog/dog did spoil the ambience and we spent a lot of time with our daughter and family next-door.

I don’t think we will return because of this. Perhaps, cleaning the small carpets after each guest who has a dog or replacing them with laminate would alleviate the problem. The position of the site was great, with lovely views.

Lucked out with the weather but the facilities are great and just what we needed.

Accommodation was generally ok - kitchen was well stocked and bathroom/shower were good - but we found the bed very uncomfortable and were also disappointed in the standard of cleanliness of the outside of the Lodge. The outside of the windows were really dirty and the whole external area needed a spruce up/clean. The steps into the Lodge were steep and narrow and needed to be navigated with care. The Locksafe system was really good.

This lodge was nice but it was not the cleanest I know it allows dogs but things like the kitchen sink had not been cleaned the table cloth was not clean, the mop was was disgusting it needs putting in the bin, The security of the doors and windows needs updating the patio door needs a dead lock , the hoover had not been emptied for a long long time,

Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and would happily book again and enjoyed being able to walk into Kewsick.

The only minor issues were that the metal chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable and we had to go and buy some camping chairs to allow us to sit in comfort on the balcony and enjoy the wonderful view. The chalet could do with more cutlery and although the double bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable the single bed in the second bedroom was very uncomfortable with the springs being easily felt. But overall this was a wonderful chalet that we would recommend to friends.

Everything was as we expected, clean, cosy and things to hand .

Bedroom was warm at night , was unsettled at first , the curtains in the early morning don’t keep the light out .

Absolutely loved my stay at Glaramara again, it’s just perfect for me and my two spaniels.

Really enjoyed our stay, great location and well equipped cottage.

..main and only comment really is the towels and bedding could do with refreshing. Towels were very hard and rough. Had we known we would have brought our own.

Great location. Ideal for exploring the Northern & central Lake District. Will seriously consider again for our next Lake District visit.

Fab holiday lodge, this was our second visit and it has been really well updated.

The kitchen, living room and bathroom are excellent. Everything was spotlessly clean. Great location.

We loved our stay at Glaramara, it was perfect for me and my 2 spaniels.

So cozy and lovely walks straight from the door. We didn’t want to leave! I’ve come home and booked in again for May

Cabin is lovley, well maintained and well equipped.

You can hear the road noise, but it's not intrusive. Could do with a bigger TV. Owner was very responsive when we had an issue with the shower. There's a trick to it! Was a great Christmas get away.

Great Location- perfect for Keswick and access to south lakes and West Coast- Great Cabin with everything you need- Great for our Cocker Spanial, no issues walking him around site on a lead at night-- Very clean and tidy- Good clear intructions about everything- good heating system.

Bonus, it had Netfix- Was not keen on the bed, but thats us, not into memory foam. Would definately recommend and book again.

Located close to Keswick without being in the middle of town.

A 15 -20 minute footpath walk in to town. However, when walking back at night, there is very little street lighting and non-existent at the roundabout on the A66. Advise to take a torch. There was some road noise, but it didn’t really spoil our stay, as we were out most of the time. If you wanted to sit out on a warm evening it might not be as peaceful as you would like. Property very well equipped. A cosy property and just right for the pair of us and two large dogs. Only downside for us was if the dogs needed to relieve themselves (even at 3am), it meant getting dressed, grabbing the torch and taking them up the lane, as there was no secure garden. When they did come back wet and muddy, we had the Mud Daddy with us and could hose them down outside before putting their drying towels on and giving them a good towel down on the decking, which was gated.

Cosy lodge in easy dog walking distance of Fitz park and town centre.

Wonderful view of Latrigg. All facilities in good working order although bed a little hard. Pheasant pub is just beyond the roundabout and serves excellent food and ale. Love watching the sheep and cattle in the field.

Great lodge, all the facilities you could need, clean and tidy, ideally located for exploring the national park.

Glamara is a lovely property yes near the A66 but did not bother us one little bit.

It's also an absolute sun trap as well as a fantastic base to work from . Beautiful view every morning. Comfy bed. Loved it will book it again

beds and couches a little tired.

This is the second time I have sayed at glaramara and sadly it seems to have deteriorated within a year.

the bed linen in the twin room smelt stale like it had been left in the washing machine too long and the room had a urine/sicky smell which reminded me of an old people's home .I appreciate it is a pet friendly lodge but the whole place did not smell fresh and didn't feel very clean which was very off putting.there was dog hair around and underneath the double bed .the towels in the double room were also hard and crispy . My first stay a year ago was lovely however we left feeling rather disappointed on this occasion and it is unlikely we will book again.

Top gaf, make sure you walk round derwent water with your dog, eat at the pheasant over the road it’s top

Just got back from a lovely week, the location was very good for walks from the door and an easy walk into Keswick!

The lodge was excellent with beautiful views from the balcony, it was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all amenities included which added to our amazing stay! Will definitely return in the future as we have so much more to explore!

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Glaramara.

The lodge is in a lovely position with views from the rear decking and although site is close to the main busy A66 and roundabout you don’t really notice or hear the traffic. Few minutes walk into town and well worth it as street parking was a problem as busy. The lodge is very well equipped with everything you could need and comfortable and warm. Our only criticism would be to replace the tube bedroom and bathroom lighting to white light rather than yellow as a little dark to see. Also, I couldn’t find a comfortable pillow as they were all a little flat and lumpy. I would probably take my own for our future visit. Other than that lovely holiday accommodation. Many Thanks!

Absolutely loved our stay at Glaramara, was everything we were expecting and the surroundings were beautiful, would highly recommend.

The only downside was the constant reminder I kept getting via email of everything we needed to do before we left such as take bedding off, hoover, no pots to be left out, no sign of dog hair etc the list was endless so we felt like we had to leave a day early so we could spend a good couple of hours cleaning which we did cutting out holiday short. I’m all for having a good clear up before I leave but I’ve never had so many demands when stopping anywhere previously. We have 2 dogs who also loved it but to say there can be no sign of dogs once we have left is crazy, surely that’s what cleaners are for.

Glaramara is a wonderful, warm, clean, comfortable lodge with excellent amenities.

In a quiet location with great view from the patio and only a short distance from the lovely town of Keswick. Had a brilliant 5 night stay here (despite the weather!) and would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Loved the lodge great location and everything we needed for a great staycation Unfortunately let down by lack of any communication from Lake District lodge holidays on the deposit refund which we still await several weeks after our stay despite leaving the lodge spotless

We've stayed at Glaramara twice before and have always been very happy with the lodge and the location.

Unfortunately this time 2 weeks after we completed our holiday I am still waiting for a refund of the housing bond. We left the lodge immaculate and even offered to pay for the plastic fish slice which snapped. It was already very worn and we only used it once before it broke. I waited on the telephone last week for some time before I was told the refund would be in my account mon/tues. Yet again I waited 10 minutes on the phone earlier and gave up when nobody answered. Due to us enthusing about the property 2 sets of friends have booked Glaramara and we have another week booked in September. If I am going to have to beg for my refund each time I go there I will certainly not be booking any holidays there in the future and shall inform friends about the difficulty in getting our money back.
