What guests are saying
We found the accommodation to be beautifully situated and extremely convenient for all that we wanted to do in the Keswick area.
Walking into Keswick itself was straightforward and safe - while paths to Latrigg and Scafell began within a stones throw of the lodge. The layout of the lodge was excellent and provided the spaces that were needed. We particularly appreciated the verandah and the lounge. The double bedroom was spacious. The cleaning of the cottage was fair but was not thorough - there was only a half roll of toilet paper provided, the towels were old and rather grubby, the blinds in the kitchen had mould on them and the bed linen was thin and 'tired'. The cupboard under the sink was full of random, half-used kitchen supplies. A tidier, more organised supply of a few items would have been appreciated. The bathroom could have benefitted from an accessibility 'review' - the door was too narrow for a zimmer-style walker and there were no handles on the shower. The access to the shower was very narrow so made it unusable (without handles) for someone with limited mobility. The outside steps were very narrow and, frankly, dangerous when wet for an older person. However, despite this, we enjoyed. our time very much - we'd come again ... but probably bring our own towels!! :)
We had a wonderful time, very peaceful site.
Handy for getting anywhere in the North Lakes. Although A66 very close ,traffic noise didn’t affect us. The welcome package was a lovely touch. Liked the no key entry was a good move. Thank you again and we will be back.
Nice well equipped lodge in a good location, just a short walk in to Keswick.
We liked being able to sit out and enjoy the view. You never know what you will get when self catering and this lodge pretty much had everything you need, although bring your own tea/coffee. We had a lovely welcome gift too! We were disappointed as the double bed was listed as a king, but this has been corrected at least. The only other thing we didn’t like were the touch bedside lamps. They are not easy to use, but more importantly they don’t give off enough light to read by. Some of the glasses/crockery wasn’t very clean but from experience I think it’s from using the quick wash on the dishwasher so would recommend not using that setting. Thanks
