Lovely peaceful lodge with beautiful views of Skiddow and Latrigg.

Very clean and well maintained, would definitely come back again, and recommend to family and friends who want to stay in Keswick, (only 10 min walk to centre of town) highly recommended.

Cosy , homely lodge.

All we needed for a weeks stay . Great views up to Skiddaw & Latrigg from living room & decking. Loved bird feeder to watch many types birds visit. Lucky with our weather and great walks starting from doorstep or further afield in car or buses from Keswick town centre. A 5minute walk to local pub & 10 minutes to Keswick town centre. Very clean lodge , well equipped. Enjoyed our stay, our 2nd stay & would recommend. Booking process & information process good.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at squirrels leap.

That should say it all. The cabin is warm and cozy, with everything you need. The views are outstanding, if you want peace and quiet....look no further. The location is also perfect, walking distance(10 mins) into Keswick, with a cafe and a pub just a 5 minute walk away. You able to drive to anywhere else if using it as a base. You can take your pets, it has internet and a small but useful kitchen. There is one double bed for those lazy mornings. Well reccomended. Thanks for another lovely time.

Our second stay at Squirrels Leap, and it was so good to be back there!

Cosy perfection in the winter weather, all the comfort you need. Best nights sleep in the peacefulness and blissful bed. Still beautifully maintained and all the equipment you need. Perfect base for Keswick, Bassenthwaite and surrounding fell walks. Delight to feed & watch the birds each morning with Skiddaw and Latrigg as the backdrop. Lovely owners, so helpful and welcoming with their care and attention to detail within the cabin. Cannot wait to return, just hope that gorgeous frosty weather is there again too!

Excellent lodge

Squirrels Leap was just perfect!

Impeccably clean, very comfy with good heating to keep you lovely and warm. The lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is placed just on the edge of the small site so our view from the patio doors was of Skiddaw and Latrigg. Beautiful. The owners had left us a lovely welcome gift of chocolates, wine and a t towel depicting famous buildings in Lancashire. Squirrels Leap is highly recommended, its in a perfect location being just a 10 - 15 minute walk into Keswick Town and loads of walks accessible without having to use the car. Fab local cafe just up the road, the Filling Station. Dog friendly and great food.

Perfect accommodation for two people, just the right size and having an actual bath is a real bonus after a day on the fells.

Lovely view of Skiddaw from the front windows too.

Quite a strong dog smell when we arrived however on opening doors and windows to air and spraying air fresheners helped .

Everything else was great as regards the inside of the lodge. However the outside could do with a bit of tlc Great views, good location and well equipped

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much.

A beautiful location with plenty to do. Squirrels Leap Lodge was excellent for us as we like our own space with our own catering facilities. The bed was very comfortable & we slept well during our stay. The shower worked really well too, plenty of hot water when needed. We could not fault any aspect of our holiday. We would love to return & stay at Squirrels Leap. Thank you.

We booked Squirrels Leap for our 30th wedding anniversary and were delighted with the lodge and also the fantastic views.

The cabin is clean comfy cosy and well equipped. It’s within walking distance of Keswick Town Centre and there are pubs shops cafes and restaurants close by. It’s ideally located for exploring the lakes mountains and surrounding countryside whether on foot by bicycle or in the car. We would definitely stay here again.

An excellent cabin, well presented and clean.

Cozy and lovely views of the fells. Burnside park is just outside Keswick an easy stroll and a very quiet site. Pub and cafe just over the road. The cabin has everything you need, the communication from the owner is first rate. This was our 2nd stay and will book again. We'll reccomended.

The improvements to the bed were great with a new mattress and the living room looks really smart with new carpets & a new rug. Loved the Christmas touches, such as the festive cushions & tree :)

We had a very pleasant stay in comfortable surrounding with easy access to Keswick and activities around.

The accommodation was very clean when we arrived with a nice touch with the a bottle of bubbly and chocolates.

Views from the lodge were outstanding and bird feeders with attracted different birds which was good to watch. Although no DVD if you have an account with a streaming service you can log on to your account. The only down side was the bed was on the hard side for us and we had to turn off the air freshener as a bit overpowering. However we were pleased with the lodge with a nice lawn area by the side which was good for our two dogs.

We have stayed at other cabins in the lakes before but none of them cams close to this one ,a lovely cabin in a wonderful quiet setting which was close to where we wanted to be, spotlessly clean with everything in it that you could want ,we really can't wait to return there next year , absolutely brilliant

This is our second visit to Squirrels leap, and we can see the improvements that have been already made, the views are amazing and we got to see Roe deer which was great, we fed the birds everyday, thank you for lovely gifts.

We had a great time at Squirrels leap, and have rebooked for July 24, for our anniversary, we can see you have started to make improvements, so whatever you do can only make an already great place only better, thank you for your gifts

We LOVED our stay; cosy with fantastic views of the Skiddaw mountain range & the lovely little fell Latrigg which we were luck enough to see sunrise from one morning.

The bird feeder outside is great to sit and watch on a cosy morning once topped up with seed. Sitting with out coffee, we got visited by nuthatches, robins, wood pigeons and lots of variety of tit! I’ve even come home & purchased a bird feeder :) Our only suggestion is that a new mattress is provided as the current one is very worn and did hurt my partners back after 7 nights in it. Other than that, would highly recommend. We’ll be booking again for next year!!! Dani x

It's a fantastic lodge, clean, tidy, warm and cozy.

The views are fabulous, the location is within walking distance to Keswick Town centre, and there is a great pub just over the road. A cafe sits opposite the pub if you need breakfast. As a base for walking you have many options and the lake district is a beautiful place to explore. The owners are really attentive and helpful if you have any issues. I would wholeheartedly recommend this lodge to family, friends and anyone else.

Well equipped. Fantastic views from the lounge and veranda. Easy parking for one car. Perfect location just outside Keswick, very quiet even on bonfire night. I loved my stay here and am already looking to book again in the spring 2024

A lovely lodge, in the ideal spot on this park.

Nestled at the back, it is away from any road noise or passing traffic, making for a restful and tranquil holiday. The views are amazing, and the location of the park is excellent in relation to the town centre and amenities in Keswick. We would definitely recommend this and look forward to returning in the future.

We spent a lovely week at Squirrel's Leap.

The lodge is well equipped (including all the kitchen equipment you might need) and was exceptionally clean. The lodge is also particularly well located as it is at the edge of the park with an excellent view of Skiddaw (some of the other lodges are located behind each other and therefore, you would be looking at the front / back of a neighbouring lodge). The park is quiet with a short walk (15 minutes) into the heart of Keswick. We will certainly stay at Squirrel's Leap again.

A lovely cabin with the most fantastic view. I have never had so much storage in the bedroom of a self-catering property or a hotel. Very well equipped and lots of extras from the welcome chocolates and wine to a decent radio and even a garlic press! The site has beautifully mown grass looking better than my lawns. Very quiet, even with 3 of my grandchildren in another cabin. Keypad so much better those sharing a cabin with only one key! Very likely to return, but do wish bookings were Sat to Sat.

Following a 'holiday from HELL' experience and a bad couple of weeks, we needed a lovely break and this was it, an absolute gem, the lodge was lovely and clean and the views were far better than expected.

The facilities and equipment supplied were first class. Even with the poor weather we still had a wonderful break, plenty to do including steam boat rides, a steam railway journey and national trust properties the scenery was just breath taking where ever you went. To summarize, a truly remarkable lodge in a lovely area, the owners should be really pleased providing such a truly wonderful accommodation in a lovely area. A big thank you.. we will DEFINITELY return, unfortunately I have to mention that we highly recommend this lodge for a truly wonderful break, enjoying the peace and quiet with stunning views and lots of wild birds !!

We love this cosy lodge with exceptional views. Very handy location for walks from the doorstep as well as road links to all parts of the National Park. The site itself is very tidy and peaceful.

Perfect cabin!

Waking up to Skiddaw each morning was a highlight, this place really is in an outstanding position in the park. So cosy & warm, everything you need for a homely stay! Location is probably the best that I’ve stayed in, in the Lakes as Keswick was a very short walk, my favourites fells & Lakes on the doorstep (Skiddaw range, Derwent water, Bassenthwaite). So many amenities nearby with the town, and a lovely little pub on the doorstep. Spacious & immaculate cabin, comfy bed & perfect for pet pooch, who didn’t want to get in the car to leave! Cabin facilities were spot on & lovely cosy decor. Highly recommend this little gem, especially if you enjoy getting out on the fells. Can’t wait to stay again!

This was a lovely holiday from start to finish, the lodge was very clean and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed.

The location is perfect, a quiet site with amazing views of the mountains from the living and room and decking area. A short walk into Keswick, around 10 minutes and a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways, An excellent pub near the site if you don't want to walk into town. Overall a great holiday and we will definitely be going back, the dog loved it too with many good walks straight from the cabin, no need to drive!

The view from the veranda was stunning, we spent some lovely time out there sat watching the birds and paragliders and just relaxing. Just being a short walk from Keswick centre was ideal. We will certainly be returning. Thank you

Cleanliness was amazing!

The location is fantastic with amazing views of the mountains.

It was so peaceful (apart from the nesting Ravens lol). The balcony has been changed since our last visit, so it's now completely enclosed for the dog which is really good. The only negative feedback I can give is that the bed isn't particularly comfortable. The prosecco and chocolate on arrival was a lovely touch.

The weather was not that good when we were there but I could imagine if it was hot it could be unbearable in the lodge - maybe the a fan would be a welcome addition for those rare hot days

Apartment was really well prepared, facilities were excellent and the lodge is ideally located.

It's a shame we had to cut short of stay for personal reasons, but we will book again.

Well equipped kitchen in which to prepare an evening meal. Comfortable lounge, enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to the radio. Good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower. Breakfast on the veranda feeding the birds and looking out on a snow capped skiddaw was restorative. Easy walk into Keswick, plenty of café bars and places to eat. Fish and chips a must after a great day walking up Cat Bells. To conclude, a lovely place to stay. Thank you

Hand on Heart this property was so clean and well presented, and was furnished extremely generously.

It stated dog friendly and we actually felt guilty bringing the dogs inside !! The views are fantastic and although you feel away from any hustle and bustle looking out on the adjacent farmland and classic Cumbria hills, only a short walk down the road we found a warm cosy pub and a few friendly faces, We look forward to coming back.

The log cabin was exactly as described.

The cleanliness was second to none and everything anyone would need for self catering was provided, even down to washing up liquid and soap in the bathroom. The location was excellent. After a couple of days we discovered an easier and better way to Keswick via the river about a 10 min walk. The Pheasant Inn is nearby and we visited twice while we were there, the food was excellent and we were allowed to take the dog! We spoke to the owners on a couple of occasions and they were very helpful and very friendly. We can highly recommend. Would we return, YES we certainly would.

the patio doors did not lock whihc was a bit unerving when we left the lodge and at night

...lodge was like a home from home. Amazing views over Skidaw and surrounding hills. A hosepipe would have been useful to clean our dogs when they got dirty..

Lovely lodge that was perfect for 2 adults and 2 small dogs.

Very clean and comfortable accomodation. The bath was a bonus to relax in. As was the gate on the veranda that kept our little dogs secure in the property whilst able to go in and out as they pleased. If like us you know you will have an issue keeping your pets off furniture I would advise dog owners to take 2 large throws to cover sofas and a dog crate for the bedroom. This way you can enjoy the holiday without risking any damage or mud to furniture. We covered everything. Location of accomodation to Keswick and surrounding lakes and attractions is great. Easy walk into Keswick for a chip supper. There is a lovely park in Keswick with a river for the evening stroll before bed. Overall a lovely stay...good communication with the person organising your stay. Only negative is the dishwasher was not emptied and therefore it took us ages to find the mugs.
