Description

Kingfisher Lodge offers a laid-back Lakeland getaway for four, tucked at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in White Cross Bay, right on the shores of Lake Windermere.

It’s the sort of place where you can settle in straight away, plenty of space in the open-plan living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen for easy self-catering, and all the everyday comforts that make a break feel effortless rather than faffy.

The lodge also welcomes two dogs, so no one gets left behind.

Slide open the doors to the decking and you’ve got an inviting spot for long breakfasts in the fresh air or an evening tipple as the day winds down.

With the lakeside just a short wander away, you’re perfectly placed to soak up those classic Windermere views, fells in the distance, boats gliding across the water, and that unmistakable Lake District calm.

White Cross Bay puts you right in the thick of things.

Just up the road sits Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, a go-to favourite for families and outdoorsy types alike.

Expect gardens, woodland walks, boat hire, a café, a restaurant and even high-rope adventures if you’re feeling brave enough to leave the ground.

It’s an easy way to fill a day without straying far.

Head one way and you reach Windermere village, with its collection of cafés, independent shops and friendly pubs, ideal for a relaxed afternoon.

Carry on a touch further and you come to Bowness, a livelier hub with lakeside restaurants, quirky stores, cinema nights, and the much-loved World of Beatrix Potter attraction.

Go the opposite direction and you’ll land in Ambleside, another bustling Lakeland town brimming with walking routes, eateries and traditional watering holes.

If you fancy exploring quieter corners, Troutbeck sits a little further along the road, offering classic country pubs, Holehird Gardens and the atmospheric National Trust property of Townend.

Beyond that, the dramatic sweep of Kirkstone Pass leads you towards Brotherswater and Ullswater, proper postcard country.

With lakes, fells and vibrant villages all around you, Kingfisher Lodge hands you the ideal base for an unforgettable Lake District break.

Loved our stay, lovely clean lodge that is dog friendly.

We spent Christmas there with friends. Excellent location. The site itself is great for walks around and you can walk down to the lake edge. We all enjoyed our week and would highly recommend to others.
