Beautiful Lodge in a rural area with stunning views , spotless clean very well equipped it was like home from home welcome basket on arrival was very much appreciated as we arrived late, will definitely book again

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy lodge - was hoping to need the fire but the place was warm throughout our stay, despite lowering the temperature.

Lots of small birds singing and visiting the garden outside. We did buy a small pot of mealworms to encourage them to come throughout the day. Enjoyed trips to Kendal and had the best bought scones in Kirkby Lonsdale. Church there is well worth a visit.

A very comfortable lodge with everything you could need provided. I would recommend Howgill Lodge to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay with easy access to the Southern Lakes or the Yorkshire Dales.

Fantastic lodge set in a beautiful location.

The only recommendation would be that a gate would be useful to secure the area around the lodge as we took our dog. It wouldn’t put us of returning though. Comfy beds, towels provided, even the little things like handwash,dishwasher tablets, tea bag’s, ice etc. lovely welcome gifts- wine and biscuits and the owner was friendly. You wont regret booking this amazing place!

The lodge was perfect in every way.

The cleanliness attention to detail and a lovely welcome pack, who doesn't like a nice cuppa after a car journey. Some where to just kick back and relax. Hillary we will definitely be coming back.

We had a lovely stay at Howgill Lodge after a long journey was nice to arrive to a well kept and clean holiday lodge.

We enjoyed long walks with our dogs around the Lake District and enjoyed coming back to the sunsets at the lodge. Thank you for letting us stay with our dogs.

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location, we had a lovely stay.

Everything you need is provided. We would recommend and will book again. Kirby Longsdale is only a short drive and full of dog friendly pubs and restaurants too. We took our two dogs. My only note would be that the lodge is not fully secure for your dogs, if you let them out for a toilet break they could wander to the road as there is no gate or fence around the garden area. (We took our own netting and rods to make it secure so we could let the dogs roam and sit in the garden area and we did not have to watch them 24/7)

Great Place for a relaxing break, definitely dog friendly and had everything we needed.

Beautifully presented log cabin but forget Uncle Tom’s this is spacious, stylish and cosy.

Everything worked with all you need for a relaxing stay. Though the weather was awful outside it was warm and comfortable inside with lovely views over the hills and dales. Great neighbours, Peter & Percy the donkeys who loved to greet you especially if you had an apple or two.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Enjoyed seeing the sheep in the field each day and exploring this lovely area. A great place for a peaceful break to celebrate mum’s 80th birthday. Thanks.

We had a fabulous week in Howgill Lodge.

Hilary had thought of everything from board games and wine to dishwasher tablets and an iron. The views were beautiful, and during a rainy week it was wonderful to have somewhere cosy to enjoy the views from sat by the logburner. We loved watching the sheep and birds and even had a hare visit us on the patio. Would highly recommend.

Loved everything about this Lodge.

Very well appointed in a beautiful location. Everything we needed and good quality things too. Just one small thing lacking was a couple of garden chairs that we could have moved around the patio. The welcome food was most appreciated. Will probably return especially to see the magnificent sunsets right ahead of us!

Peaceful and relaxing location. The lodge has everything you could possibly need. Everything is of a very high quality and you cannot fault anything. Lovely touches included the welcome pack and fresh flowers. We would love to return and have no issue in recommending to others.

The accommodation was excellent.

Very comfortable and clean, we had everything we needed. Everything at our disposal. Shower was Spacious, decent size bathroom. The beds were so so comfortable, we slept well every night. Definitely recommend this accommodation. Spacious as well. Definitely a 5

The lodge was really nice, the welcome basket was lovely.

Lodge had everything you could need, absolutely no negative feedback to give only positive. Great location, view, loved the triple opening doors onto patio. Would’ve used the wood burner if the weather hadn’t been so warm! We used the owner’s horse riding facility nearby for a lesson for the kids and wasn’t expecting it but they applied a discount for us as we were staying in the lodge. The staff there were really nice and our kids loved their lesson.

We are just back home after spending 4 nights at the lodge actually one more night extra due to the 5 star accommodation!

! Everything was spotless when we arrived, the host Hilary was super helpful when needed, she thought of everything from washing pods to milk and bread !! I cannot fault anything with this lodge, I have been lucky enough to stay in 5 star hotels ..and this comes to the same standard. There are lots of walks and activities nearby

We loved our stay at Howgill Lodge.

Its perfect for a small family, and not far from all the tourist areas such as Windermere, Ullswater, Aira force and so on The hosts had already provided clear instructions / directions, so we had no trouble whatsoever We will be back!

We had a lovely time here - good to be away from busy life.

The place is brand new and we were the first occupants - a real treat. Everything is beautiful and the design touches subtle enough to keep making discoveries. The log burner was a wonderful part of our stay. Wi-fi unexpectedly superb. The views from the front are spectacular and hold the entire Lake District - so good to see at sunset and clear air first thing in the morning. To the back, views are less good but we learned to focus on the strong positives rather than the negatives. It's located on a working farm and we saw the birth of 2 lambs about 50 feet away. Great access to areas we have never explored before. We would love to return. The owner is super-helpful.
