    “Beech Lodge is exactly as advertised.”

    It's well maintained, clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our break there. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Our only issue we had was the "roads" leading to the location - they were single track unlit roads with quite a few sharp bends. Being in our 70s we didn't feel inclined to drive these tracks at night, as we had a few "encounters" in daylight e,g. having to back up to let others pass, break sharply to avoid speeding vehicles, etc. However, this didn't detract from peace we ...

GOOSNARGH

Preston 6.4 miles; Morecambe 28.7 miles.

Goosnargh is a village and civil parish in the City of Preston district of Lancashire, England. The village lies between Broughton and Longridge, and mostly rests in the civil parish of Whittingham, although the ancient centre lies in the civil parish of Goosnargh. The Anglican parish church of St Mary is situated on Church Lane. Trinity Methodist Church, originally dating from the early 1880s, lies on Whittingham Lane. The village holds an annual festival on the first Saturday after the Spring Bank Holiday Monday during which there is a procession through the village. The procession includes decorated floats, fancy dress, maypole dancing and marching bands. Further afield, Preston offers bustling indoor and outdoor markets, fresh Lancashire produce, and a variety of boutique and independent shops, many with a long, proud history of their own.
