“We liked Bay Tree Lodge and enjoyed our week.”

The lodge is very quiet and peaceful and a perfect location to explore the area on our bikes. There were no instructions as to what to do with the bedding so I stripped the sheets and folded them on our departure and was disappointed to discover a very dirty mattress cover with a visible blood stain which was on the bed upside down so I dread to think what the correct side looked like. Also there was prescription medication dropped behind a locker onto a very dusty floor which was not ours in the form of a blister pack of pills with only one taken. The furniture in the lounge had not been cleaned underneath so sadly the overall cleanliness let this lovely lodge down. We gave Sykes a low score as we have decided not to book with them again because when we raised an important matter to us in advance of our stay they merely sent a generic reply that didn’t deal with our request. This accommodation we note is available through other agents.

Hi Peter. Thanks for your review and my sincere apologies for the cleanliness issues. This has all been brought to the attention of the cleaners who are normally very thorough but have obviously not been on this occasion. I’m glad you still enjoyed your stay despite that. Best wishes, Mark Property Owner
