Fern Lodge

It was a pleasure to stay in the lodge.

It was convenient for all amenities and beautifully clean. Highly recommended!

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating, they met us upon our arrival and went through some helpful details with us.

I think they should update the main lodge photo as it definitely looks more appealing now, with more greenery. I would stay again definitely.

Mark and Helen were amazing hosts.

They popped in for a little greet and meet to show us how to use the hot tub and recommended some places to visits. The lodge itself is outstanding. It's the biggest we have stayed in. The hot tub was a lovely feature to really relax in the evenings. The kitchen had everything you need, with local pubs in Cartmel less than 5mins drive away. The pig and whistle was our favourite! The location of the lodge is ideal - we visited many places throughout the day. Definitely recommend parking at lakeside and jumping on the boat to Bowness. Overall we couldn't fault Fern Lodge! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely lodge, had a very lovely stay very clean.

Only thing I would say is maybe more towels or kitchen roll etc! Other than that we had a fab time

Absolutely spotless, comfortable, modern, spacious lodge.

Throughly enjoyed our stay, everything you need for a self catered base. Hot tub was a luxury to relax in from ventures out. Walkable into local Cartmel and easy drive to other Lakes destinations. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again

The lodge was absolutely lovely.

Couldn't fault anything. The location was so peaceful but perfect for exploring the area. The lodge was beautifully done and had a real homely feel. We all had a fantastic time. Nice the owners came to say hello and check we were happy. Look forward to visiting again next year. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful lodge, exactly as pictured and described.

Comfy beds and bedding, spacious, fab hot tub, comfy sofas, heating worked as expected and heated towel rails so useful for swim stuff. Kitchen lovely with everything you need. We had the loveliest time here and would stay again. Lovely couple, who showed us how to use the hot tub and gave local walk and eating recommendations. Highly recommend!

Fern lodge is a spacious comfortable lodge super clean with everything we needed the outside space with hot tub and seating was a lovley private space to relax and the area at the front was a wonderful spot to sit and take in the evening sun the owners Helen and mark we very friendly and informative making sure we had everything we needed(thanks for the fan during the hot spell Helen very much appreciated)we have stayed in quite a few lodges over the years and we would say this is the best by far would highly recommend ten out of ten on your amazing lodge Helen and mark

Wow what an absolute lovely place to stay, facilities and cleanliness was perfect, we decided not to out due to it being perfect, I shall definatly return soon!

This is a beautiful lodge, spacious, modern and extremely clean.

The outdoor decking area is fantastic, not over looked, so very private. Helen & Mark were exceptional hosts, really went out their way for us.

If you looking for a peaceful chilled out stay then this is the place.

The lodge is very spacious and clean. The outdoor decking area at rear is not overlooked by any other lodge and the hot tub is a great bonus. Owners very friendly and helpful. Didn’t want to leave! Would definitely recommend this oasis

A great holiday home to spend some time relaxing in beautiful peaceful surroundings.

The owners popped in to show us how Hot Tub worked and to check everything was as expected, which it was. Great location to walk into Cartmel to visit the many pubs and restaurants.

We were very well looked after throughout by Helen and Mark.

Excellent lodge and great recommendations. No wonder the guest book was so full of praise! Would totally come back.

Beautiful location with a 15 minute walk into Cartmel. The lodge was lovely and really clean, with easily accessible amenities and the hosts kindly showed us how to operate the hot tub. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully stay again in the future!

The Lodge was stunning and clean, has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The hosts were really friendly and helpful.

The stay was incredible could not fault a single thing

We stayed at fern lodge with 2 young children 15 months & 5 months and we were so pleased.

The lodge is a great size even with all our travel cots etc. The outdoor area that comes with the lodge was great, including the enclosed garden at the back with the hot tub in. Helen and her husband were friendly and answered any questions we had. The caravan site was quiet and clean. We will definitely be back.

The cottage provides a spacious and relaxing place, with lots of flexibility for the weather.

The location is quiet, but in a stones throw of both Cartmel, with lots of food and drink options, and Grange Over Sands, which is a hidden gem. I would gladly have stayed for another week as the lodge was so comfortable and there was so much to do. My recommendations for visitors are Cartmel Cheese Company, cookies from Simon Rogan Home, a train ride to Ulverston for Laurel and Hardy fans and the lakes themselves.

We had a great time staying at Fern Lodge.

It was an excellent space for our family of 4 to base ourselves whilst exploring the Lake District. The lodge is well designed and furnished to a high standard. There are lots of spaces outside the lodge to relax in comfy chairs to soak up the sun. It was spotlessly clean too. A good soak in the hot tub in the private garden was the perfect end to each day. We would highly recommend Fern Lodge!

Such a lovely home from home lodge.

Had a lovely holiday here, Helen and Mark gave us lots of info on where we were staying, places to eat and visit, lovely hosts. The hot tub was amazing and very private, the little extras that were left for us , especially the cartmel sticky toffee pudding was delicious. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to come back in the future.

Beautiful lodge well equipped and cared for. The privacy of the hot is the icing on the cake.

Fern lodge is very spacious exceptionally clean.

It had everything we needed. The hot tub is a big bonus. The Owners were lovely. Nothing was a problem. They gave us info on the area. The only negative thing I would say is the shower temperature it goes very hot or cold it was very hard to get the right temperature. This would not put us off going again though as the rest of the holiday was perfect. It is very central for getting about. We traveled around quite easily. Thank you for a lovely week.

Perfectly clean, well maintained and had everything you could ask for. A wonderful location and couldn't ask for better. Helen and Mark were lovely and very helpful too. Provided all information we needed and got back to us quickly when we had a question. 10/10 would recommend staying here!

The lodge was even better than it looked in the advertisement.

Spotless, beautifully furnished. Hot tub was spotless and maintained daily. Site was quiet. Hosts were lovely would highly recommended.

It’s such a lovely place, super clean inside and out, can’t fault the lodge in any way at all, the hosts Helen and mark are amazing too, very knowledable and made our stay all the more better, will definitely be returning!

My friend and I found the property very well appointed, comfortable and clean.

There was one issue about which we contacted the owners. The extractor fan for the family bathroom does not activate automatically when one turns on the light. We were told that one has to press the switch above the door which is very high up. My friend could just about reach it but I could not. I don't think many people would guess its location without enquiring. Before knowing this I was concerned that the bathroom would eventually succumb to damp issues! Also the shower, if left on the hook, floods the bathroom as the pressure is so powerful the water bounces off the opposite wall onto the floor! Probably the fitting of the shower needs adjusting so as the water flows downwards. I unhooked it when using the shower so as I could control the direction of flow. A stool of some kind could be useful in the lodge for those of us who are not 6ft blokes! A few more mugs would be useful, especially for a party of 4. Oh, and one last thing. The sheep at the bottom of the drive is missing her lamb. What has happened to it? Great place, I will recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay somewhere quiet in the Cartmel area. Fantastic lodge , one of the very best we have stayed in ,hot tub was extremely well maintained by mark , and amenities in the lodge were outstanding, would highly recommend this lodge to friends and family

I’m reluctant to give a good review as I don’t want more competition to book this fabulous lodge in the future!

The lodge is spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated and designed. The exterior is in our view better than the pictures suggest with the location of the lodge perfect for evening sun and very private. The hot tub is an excellent addition. The lodge location is spot on; a quiet location on the outskirts of Cartmel which has so much to it including a great breakfast (and cheese shop!). Helen and Mark are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. On top of all this, the sun shone all week! If you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a family of four in the south part of the Lakes, you’ll struggle to find a better lodge than this.
