Absolutely beautiful, lovely surroundings very clean and the little out door patio at the back was perfect, loved every bit of it A+++++

If you like a nice peaceful place then this for you ,wifi not very good on our phones or laptop when we went very hot weather could of done with thinner duvet 10 tog was too.

Beautiful lodge in lovely quiet park the only disappointment was the walk into cartmel it's very busy country lane with trucks and cars no pathways or pavement to walk on.

Major issue which spoiled our stay at Pippin Cottage is the access to the property using the steps, which we found difficult due to the height between each step being greater than expected when entering the accommodation.

Other than that, we found the accommodation to be of a high quality and very comfortable. Our only other comment refers to the non-existence of the barbecue, although the utensils were found at the property. There were dishwasher tablets at the property but no dishwasher. Unfortunately, we will not be making any return visits to Pippin Cottage, which is a shame as the property itself is very good aside from the access.

Very nice lodge in a very quiet area, able to walk into Cartmel which has some nice shops and pubs, including the number 1 restaurant in the UK!

Which we could no away afford as it’s 3 star Michelin!! Only thing letting it down was no fuel left for the fire on arrival so had to go out again so we could have a log fire, also very steep steps up to the property and slippy decking. But regardless of this had a lovely week away, lots of places to visit and great places to walk dogs if you don’t mind driving a little distance.

The pippin lodge was really lovely, there was everything you needed only snag was the guilt wasn't that warm enough through the night.

Scrounging were were really lovely too we had some lovely walks every day .

We enjoyed our stay, lovely lodge away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We particularly loved the double recliner settee!! We had problems with the tv - the Manhattan part of the tv kept saying no signal so couldn’t get ITV. We found the steps going up to the lodge irregular and steep, especially the last step - there is quite a drop. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay, thank you x

What a beautiful little gem.

Just stayed here for a short break away from the hussle and bussle. It is a perfect getaway. Cosy and everything you need. Bed comfy, shower is amazing!! Home from home. Hubby and I went on many walks with our two dogs. Would recommend a drive to Ambleside and also fell foot lakes.

I had my holiday booked a couple of weeks ago and due to the weather, being a heatwave we had to reschedule this as it was unfair on the dog to take him and we wouldn't of been able to go on any trips we planned.

We rescheduled the dates which the owner accepted. However, we was in the same situation again with being a heatwave and thought we would benefit more by changing the dates again, we requested this at the beginning of the week, considering we was meant to arrive on the Friday. This was declined by the owner, and the only option was to cancel and lose all our money. I think this is pathetic considering we paid a lot of money for two nights, we didn't end up going and lost all the money we paid for the accommodation and didn't even get offered a partial refund, when our dog was really struggling with the heat at home and the lodge didn't offer air con. I am disgusted by this, and will not be booking again or dealing with Sykes as there was no help in resolving the matter. It isn't our fault that the weather was too hot again, when we booked it three weeks later. I hope this can be resolved and some sort of refund or credit note can be considered as I am disappointed and have lost out on a lot of money.

The cottage was everything the description stated.

It was spotless. The position was perfect. Just a mile from the centre of Cartmel. This was our first time booking through sykes, we will definitely be booking again.

The Lodge was a beautiful place to stay, loved sitting on the side balcony, early morning listening to the birds.

We had a fabulous stay, didn’t use the car walked everywhere with the dogs, would love to return.

This is a lovely little lodge on a quiet site close to Cartmel.

Ideal if you want to just park up your car and walk to the village. its up a hill on return but only a mile there and the same mile back. Lodge was clean and very well equipt the host go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Definately a place we would return to

Had a lovely 3 nights stay at pippin Lodge, very peaceful area.

Cartmel village just down road near to grange on sands, cark and other areas. Lodge had all things you would need in kitchen. Had gate fence that went over top of stairs so dog could sit out on decking with us without running off which was bonus. Lovely living room. Tv had netfix and amazon prime, couldnt get netflix to work but prime did. Log burner nice touch but you need to bring your own wood on cabin details it did say starter pack included but obviously no longer do that. Folder in lodge tells younplaces you can purchase wood. But heating was ample in lodge . Bed comfy bathroom shower good. Toilet seat very wobbly could do with being tightened for future guests, couldnt figure out how to put heated towel rail on and no instructions in folder. Fridge frezzer needs defrosted build up of ice. Had lovely sunday dinner at pig and whistle in cartmel you need to book though brewrey in cartmel nice for a visit and drink both dog friendly. Will definately be returning booked for july.

The property smelt and looked lovely as we walked in.

So so clean! There was everything you could need, all cooking equipment and fridge freezer. Washing machine and dishwasher too, so would definitely stay for longer next time. The bed was so comfy, I think it’s the best sleep I’ve had in months. The grounds were lovely and easy to locate, there was a petrol station 10 mins away that you can get wood from. The fire worked great and the heating system was really easy to use. Will be going again!

Property was filthy on arrival, decking covered in mud, bird feeders empty and mouldy shame when you have a lovely lodge next door to it with plenty of nice birds and bird feeders.

Owners leave no number in lodge to contact them and also don't respond to sykes when contacted. Inside the lodge the couch (recliner) does not work or even have a plug to plug in wall. Says on welcome pack press button put your feet up and relax but buttons do nothing and couch is very uncomfortable. Next up the smell that hit us when we walked in (very foisty mouldy smell) could of been from a few things the mould growing above kettle, from the broken bin which from other reviews hadn't been fixed or replaced this was absolutely revolting around the broken bin lid had dirt which we had to clean ourselves or it could of been the mouldy bird feeders out back. I can see why no photos of balcony and around are on sykes as it is very unpleasant to look at. Now the major part we got the fire going only to realise a crack and stop fire immediately looked everywhere in lodge for a contact number nothing but a number for sykes tried phoning that but at 7ockock at night no one at the office so had to phone the next day all while the heating would not heat up the lodge as we had to air the foisty smell out on arrival and due to the radiator not putting much heat out and being covered in dust also doors not closing properly leaving gaps and breezes coming through we we're sitting in jumpers coats and dressing gowns. Got in touch with sykes the next day to be told they couldn't get hold of owners couple hours later told that owners were sending someone to have a look to our surprise after a couple hours we have a phonecall to say not to use the fire and they won't be fixing it. As we booked the lodge for the log burner this was no longer worth staying as it was the middle of a storm and after 2 nights we decided to leave as the temperature was dropping down to -4 that night. Other things we found were mouldy sealant around sink flies all over window cill fluff or hair left on floor blind fixings broken and hanging off walls. Blinds didn't shut properly leaving you without privacy, wall piece in bathroom very run down tatty and filthy. All of this was bad enough on new years eve but to then get home after filing a complaint to receive a good will gesture of £25 from the lodge owners is quite frankly appalling. From not accepting that insulting offer of compensation to not respond for a further 23 days and counting is something I've never experienced and feel extremely let down all in all definitely would not recommend as we have booked plenty of sykes holidays in the past and every time they have been lovely clean immaculate places

The lodge was situated in a lovely part of the estate and only a short drive to the lake.

It was clean and well presented and very homely would come and stay again

First Impression was a lovely cosy lodge.

Issues arise with living in the lodge. Bathroom: Lovely shower. Toilet seat wobbly Bedroom: Nice comfy bed Kitchen: well equipped but broken bin Lounge: Lamp not working, could do to take out table in middle of room and put small ones at each side of sofa (as you need to get off to reach anything on table). Also a couple of throws for sofa. Heating:Central heating does not throw out a lot of heat. Outside: Steps are not particularly safe. Bin full on arrival, left bagged rubbish inside so not to entice the wild life to go through rubbish. NOW FOR THE BIG ONE NO WIFI.

Great lodge.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only negative for us was the lack of a secure fenced area for dogs to have a run off-lead. We had a very relaxing stay, thank you.

Lovely comfortable stay.

Such a peaceful area. The site is very tastefully laid out the lodges set amongst trees, all very natural and pretty. Accommodation was accurately described. Would return. The enclosed bbq area to the side was a nice surprise and meant we could have the door open without worrying about our dog. The other outside decking area at front/side is not enclosed. Appreciated the bird feeders outside kitchen window and watching all the feathered visitors!

Beautiful lodge, very clean and well equipped with everything you need for a short break.

Sofa is very comfortable. Lovely outside seating area for watching the birds coming to the feeders. Quiet and peaceful location. Great village a short walk away. Would definitely return.

This was our third/fourth visit , but not been since before covid.

To be honest the outside looks a bit tired, needs a lick of paint and a varnish. Inside we found the bedroom door handle was loose, the toilet door didnt shut properly , large cobweb on the shower and the shower trap was dirty with hairs in it. Wouldn’t use washing machine due to stagnant water which smelt in the rubber ring as you open the door. The washer drawer was also dirty. The cushions for the outside seat need a wash. Needs a little more attention to detail when cleaning. It’s a shame to have to put these things as it is a lovely lodge in a beautiful location. We have lots of memories of this place even this time but we feel it needs a bit of TLC

Pippin lodge is perfect for a holiday.

It is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We would definitely recommend the property to anyone wanting a stay here. We will book again.

As we are 68 and 69 years the steps outside were an issue for us too slippy and every step was too high the lodge is lovely but not really meant for a older couple.

The lodge was spotless, they thought of every little detail such as logs, kindling, matches for the log burner, washing up items, dog bowls, etc.

It was in a lovely setting, watching all the different birds feeding from the kitchen window

Peaceful no noise on night time.

Although it was a very nice lodge, I feel it was quite overpriced for what it actually was.

We had a lovely holiday at Pippin Lodge Nice position and very clean.

Our dog Millie became unwell so contacted Archwell vets she needed an operation can highly recommend them for being so informative regarding her recovery. Found the steps very narrow and high.

Quiet, peaceful and the bonus of Cartmel being so close. Lodge is extremely well equipped, everything worked perfectly, thanks for such a lovely place to stay.

We had a lovely week at Pippin Lodge, made all the better by fabulous weather.

The lodge was lovely and clean and had all the facilities we needed, except a washing line or better airer, it was very flimsy, if this is what you are expected to dry your washing on. We were surprised there was only one sofa, as the pictures clearly show two.

The cottage is very comfy. Well appointed lovely and peaceful site with lots of wildlife around everything you could need to relax and stay with the village of Carmel. Only a few minutes away Unsworth yard with its local brewery is a must if you like a good beer

We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful lodge!

It was extremely stylish and modern but also very comfortable and cosy too! We didn't want to leave! We would definitely recommend Pippin Lodge and we will hopefully return very soon!
