Rivendell Lodge

Fabulous lodge; very comfortable, really well equipped and perfect for a family.

We had young children with us so the enclosed decking was a massive bonus as well as the close proximity to a lovely park. Gorgeous location; a stones throw from Hawkshead, Grizedale Forest, Coniston. We did a charity event "Race the Sun" on the Saturday of our stay and the lodge was a perfect base. Beautiful. Would not hesitate to recommend and would love to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay :-)

Beautiful and modern lodge.

Well equipped. Views stunning. Beds comfy. Could not really find fault. Would defo go again.

Accommodation was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our week holiday.

Also perfect location for access to walking the fells. One small way the accommodation could have been even better is if there were an outdoor table and chairs for eating outside. But we did enjoy sitting out on the decking on the comfy sofas provided. Will definitely visit again!

We stayed as a family group of 5 for 4 nights.

The lodge is lovely, very comfortable with great views and has everything you need for making meals. It’s in a great location walking distance from the pubs and shops in hawkeshead. Outdoor furniture is great if you’re lucky enough to get some sun. We all enjoyed it and could have stayed for longer. Looking forward to visiting again soon. - King family

Superb lodge in a beautiful setting.

Everything we needed for a Christmas break and the kitchen was perfect to make Christmas dinner. The recliner chair in the lounge was my spot for the week! Only thing missing was a hot tub. We will definitely be back, again and again xx

Exceeded my expectations.

We had a lovely week staying here as a couple with our dog.

Absolutely everything you need for a self catering stay. Very cosy, great deck when the sun was shining and for an evening drink or two. Very clean and super comfy bed and bedding. Nice little walk to the village. Would definitely recommend

Lovely spacious & homely lodge in a beautiful location on a small quiet site, loved the outdoor seating area to relax & enjoy the amazing views after a day walking exploring the area, perfect location less than a mile from the village where you can start find plenty of walks & good bus service.

It was our first stay to this area of the lakes & will definitely be returning.

Lodge seems a bit dated, flooring etc, lack of bowls, storage very good, freezer needed defrosting, and fridge not very clean,info needs updating especially pin details for tv, could do with some walk maps in lodge, and grounds definately need maintaining, having said that we had a lovely week and very handy for hawkhead, be aware your postcode sends you past lodges and into a narrow cul de sac that was very hard to turn round from

Fantastic accommodation in a superb location.

The lodge had everything we needed. There were 4 adults and 2 dogs and there was plenty of room for all. The location was near to Hawkshead with a delightful short walk through footpath and fields. It was also possible to walk down to the lake from the lodge. Will definitely go again

Absolutely loved staying here, it was clean had plenty of crockery.

The beds were super comfy and the site was really clean and well kept. I just wish the pictures would do the lodge more justice, it really was a luxurious lodge that we loved staying in.

Wonderful lodges.

Well equipped and spacious. Dog friendly and ideally suited to access all areas of the Lake District. Hawkshead is a wonderful, friendly village with plenty of amenities. Def recommend the ghost tour on Wednesday nights!

Great family catch up at Christmas.

The lodge was fine for 6 adults plus 1 small dog. It had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner. Location was ideal for us

The lodge was fantastic and in an ideal location. It was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The owner was easy to contact, friendly and responded quickly.

We go to the Lakes a lot, and always around bonfire night to get our dogs away from all the madness.

We have always stayed in cottages, so this was our first time in a lodge. I have to say this is the best accommodation we've ever stayed at, and I'd always look fo book a lodge first in future. It really did feel like a home from home and because there are only a small number of lodges it feels really private. The beds and bedding are top hotel quality, absolutely gorgeous. Everything worked like a dream and it was equipped to the best standard, you really couldn't ask for more. Really cosy and the wood burner was really efficient and we didn't use as much wood as we do back home. It's really spacious and the pictures just don't do it justice, we absolutely loved everything about this lodge. Some kind of bucket or something would be helpful to clean muddy paws, but we cobbled something together to make it work. Definitely get a supermarket delivery if you can, there were a number of deliveries around us while we were there. Access is really easy. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this gorgeous lodge to anyone and we'd definitely come again. Thank you for letting us stay in your gorgeous home from home.

Lovely lodge, great location, only slight niggle some of the window catches could do with adjustment, and the handles on a couple of the blinds missing, other wise an excellent lodge

Lovely well stocked lodge, with views of fields with sheep, lamb and cows and a lake in the distance.

Very clean and comfy.

The lodge is fully equipped, very clean and in a beautiful location.

Ideal for walking to Grizedale or down to the lake. It's about a 15 minute walk to Hawkshead village too, local shops and a few pubs. Will definitely book again.

Rivendell lodge was the perfect accommodation for a relaxing week in the Lake District.

The lodge had everything we needed and more and was an excellent location to visit many beautiful places. We would highly recommend and definitely return in the future.

It was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect as we could do a number of walks from the door - really nice not to have to drive anywhere. It was lovely to come back to somewhere so comfortable and warm afterwards.

The location is right on the lake and within walking distance to Hawkshead. This was a great location for all the towns, lakes and hikes. The interior is modern, clean and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the Lake District.
