Bowness Bay Lodge

When we turned up there was 2 loaves of mouldy bread in the cupboard, dirty glasses and bowls.

There was also limited toilet roll available with one bathroom having no soap. The accommodation was nice and good location for Bowness but was loud at night due to backing on a petrol garage with a lot of cars revving their engines. Cleanliness wasn’t great on arrival due to the mouldy food and dirty dishes but overall a nice stay

Lovely, comfortable lodge in a great location on the park and for exploring Bowness and the surrounding area.

Great deck area with plenty of comfy seating for making the most of the lovely weather we had. Would definitely book again.

Bowness Bay lodge is our go-to choice whenever we visit Fallbarrow Park.

Having stayed here 3 or 4 times, we always find it exceptionally clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, this latest stay we had a couple of issues with the en-suite: the shower ran cold intermittently and there was an unpleasant smell. We won’t let this stop us from returning later this year as we’re sure these minor issues will be swiftly addressed.

The property was lovely, everything we needed was all at hand,the property was in a quiet location, the only downfall was dirty towels left in the washing machine when we arrived left by the previous occupants, but apart from that everything was good.

The lodge was amazing.

It was spotlessly clean and had every amenity such as the hoover, washing machine, TV in both bedrooms etc. All the rooms were a decent size so you felt like you weren’t on top of each other. The single beds were really generous in size and my children said they were so comfy. The location of the lodge is private and the lovely furniture on the decking added that extra comfort for sitting outside on the warm nights. It was a 5 minute walk into Bowness or a 10 minute drive to Ambleside. I am already looking for availability to book this lodge again and can’t wait to return.

Wi-fi is not very good at all though, that is the only critique

The cottage was immaculate and we had a wonderful stay.

My only gripe was that the WiFi was horrendous.

A lovely long weekend spent in this lodge.

Everything was clean and tidy and the sofa and bed were comfortable. We had no issues with noise - either from the on-site pub which is a couple of minutes walk away, or from the main road that the lodge backs onto. We had a relaxing stay and the lodge is on our list of favourite lodges.

Easy check in and out. We are fussy and could not fault this accommodation. We would definitely stay here again. Few minutes walk in to Bowness. The lodge had everything you need to cook, clean etc. The bar/restaurant on site was also lovely. Nothing any of us could say that would make it better.

we liked our stay at the lodge and it had everything from cutlery,glasses,pots& pans.

we did have trouble with the front door it would open one day then it would get stuck. so I rang up about it and it was fixed that day so thumb ups for the Lodge and service.

The first thing we had to do on arrival was clean the kitchen bin.

Although it had a clean bin bag, the inside of the lid was dirty as was the plastic’ inner’. Other than that the lodge was very clean and well presented with comfortable beds and sofas. A nice little touch was having a speaker to connect our phones so we could play our music. The lodge is set back from the road so not much noise from passing cars or pedestrians. Although the lodge backs onto the main road we had no noise issues with the traffic. The pub and play area is a short walk away (again, no issues with noise) and the spar shop is right next to the site which is handy. The lakeside is just a two minute walk away and it’s a five minute walk into Bowness. We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in the future.

On the whole, a really great lodge and would love to visit again.

It was light and well maintained and a great space for us to enjoy the holiday. Sadly though, we probably wont visit again because the bed has a standard spring mattress and was quite uncomfortable. We struggled to get a decent night sleep, which took it's toll. My next comments about cleanliness are intended to be more constructive for improvement rather than critical. The cleaners could do with dusting more frequently. The raised shelf above the sink unit as well as the lobby side table were very dusty and has clearly been missed quite a few times. The kitchen floor was messy and we couldn't vacuum ourselves as the cordless V-tec in the store cupboard didn't have a charger. Most of the towels were makeup stained and could do with either a boil wash or replacement.
