Buttermere is a modern and spacious lodge located in Fallbarrow Park, on the shores of Lake Windermere.
This is a quieter area of the park, with the clubhouse and facilities just a short distance away.

Fallbarrow Park sits on the eastern short of Lake Windermere, in a picturesque woodland setting with views across the lake and up to the fells all around.
The popular, cosmopolitan village of Bowness-on-Windermere is 0.2 miles walk away – you can be there in under ten minutes!
From Bowness Pier you can start an unforgettable day out on the water with Windermere Lake Cruises – board a beautiful cruiser and hop on and off or rent a canoe or a motorboat.
Bowness is home to many shops, bars and restaurants too.
Fallbarrow has on site bar, restaurant shop, and deli should you wish to stay local to your lodge.
(dogs in the café only or outside seating area) There’s a children’s play area, beer garden, picnic area and woodland walks.
Further afield, drive up to Windermere village – two miles away, or the bustling market town of Ambleside four miles away.
You are only four miles from Troutbeck village at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass which winds its way up over the high fells and then down to Ullswater.

Beautiful and perfect, hot tub checked daily, we had a fault on the boiler but it was repaired efficiently and quickly by the maintenance team there.
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the lodge. So comfortable. Gorgeous site 5 mins walk to town centre.
On arrival a lamp in twin room was propped against the wall broken, the base was smashed and left there, obv could not use .
I did fill in a form to advise. Under hall mat full of leaves not hoovered. Skirting boards dirty. Decking slimy needed jet washing resulted in dog slipping needed emergency vet £500. We was aware when wet to be careful, but this was slimy and Didn’t rain at all. Inside hot tub needed scrubbing on sides. Towels very thin. Front of ensuite shower as step in dirty…….. Cleanliness was definitely overlooked which let this property down. Lovely location. Earlier in the year stayed closer to the lake high up, lodge was similar but cleaner.

Buttermere lodge is in a great position on Fallbarrow park.
We had a lovely stay with friends and our dog. We were disappointed that we did not receive a bottle of Prosecco on arrival as many previous reviewers mentioned. We also had no electricity on arrival which we later discovered was a park issue. Sykes holiday out of hours never returned my calls to update us with what was happening, however Parkdean staff were excellent. The lodge itself was looking a little tired in places with carpet coming away from joining strips/flooring and people need to be aware that the en-suite shower door is a little tricky to open from the inside! We will book again though as we love the position near to Bowness, hot tub and that it is dog friendly.
Our third visit to Buttermere Lodge and just as good as we remembered plus lovely new decking.
Spotlessly clean and with everything we could want. Lovely touch from the owner of a bottle of bubbly. Hot tub was so relaxing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and definitely hope to return again next year.

Well situated for a short easy walk into Bowness . Nice quiet site in the park. Our second stay in this lodge,tried other times but it was fully booked. Very popular. Weather was good this time and really enjoyed our stay there. Will definitely try to book again. Arthur Murrell.

The lodge was spotless, well equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The location was perfect, with beautiful surroundings and plenty to do nearby. The lodge itself was comfortable, modern, and very well maintained. It felt like a real home away from home. Communication from the owners was excellent throughout, making everything straightforward from booking to check-out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a great location. Thanks again for a brilliant weekend!

Although on first sight the property looked very nice, however the showers need some work done to them!
The on-suite shower is just unusable. The door is difficult to open when you are in. And it is so small. I am quite a small person, but I found it difficult to have a proper shower in it. We all ended up using the main shower, which was OK, but not what we expected. There are no drying places for wet towels, apart from a half exposed heated towel rail at the end of the bath. The cabinet in the on-suite needs looking at, as the doors feel like they are about to fall off! There is nowhere to put suitcases in the main bedroom! The sofas are not comfortable at all. You keep sliding down whilst sitting on them. However, the place was very clean and generally in good order.
This was a lovely comfortable lodge to stay in.
The only thing is the beds weren't really that comfortable and there was a problem with the hot tub on the last day. That said I would stay here again as overall the lodge was very comfortable and clean and tidy loved the site it was on so quiet and great location to walk into Windermere lovely bar and restaurant and parkdean staff were lovely.
This was my 3rd visit to this lodge.
It was extremely clean and comfortable. I went in March and it was quiet, exactly what I wanted. Weather was very kind. Hot tub was super. Location is excellent for walking into Bowness and travelling to gorgeous walks.
Our 4th time at this park, 2nd time staying at this lodge, won’t be the last, the lodge is spacious, well equipped, great location.

Hot tub great after a long day walking. Everything in the lodge you would need great plus was dishwasher and washing machine eill be booking again for next year.
This is the second time we have stayed at Buttermere Lodge and it didn’t disappoint it had all you need for a very comfortable stay, the bottle of proscco was a nice touch and we did enjoy that sitting in the hot tub.
Close to all amenities Lake Windermere was a short walk away and local transport and the ferries if you didn’t want to drive also nice bars and restaurants for the evening. The only problem we did have was that the hot tub wasn’t very clean we had to get the maintenance out to address this of which they did very quickly. We will be definitely booking again in the future.

A beautiful lodge on a beautiful site with the luxury of a hot tub.
The lodge was spacious, clean and well equipped for a family of four or also ideal for a nice romantic break away for a couple. Just a few minutes walk to lots of restaurants, bars and shops.
Starting with lovely local couldn’t fault , but the lodge it was clean and tidy l will say that but the Hot tub would not turn down so it stayed on 40 degrees to be told there is a thermostat in bedroom , could not find it after looking everywhere!
! , then the dishwasher was not working someone did try to turn it off then on again after Leaving it off for a day. A when it said DVD player in living area that was just for show as no lead connect to Tv ,after buying a handful of DVD. Not Happy after only being there 5 days and being August so top price. Would not entertain coming back after the owner gave us a complimentary 10% off our next stay there to experience the same problems no thank you.
Have stayed in fallbarrow Park for the last 16 years.
This is one of the best lodges we as a family have stayed in.the cleanliness of the lodge throughout was excellent bright and fresh.hot tub well maintained. I would 100% recommend it and glady be back.thank you for the welcome tipple it was very much appreciated.
Lovely, clean lodge.
Only downside was lack of decent wi-fi. The park one is okay, but a bit hit and miss. Wife loved the hot tub and would book again in the future. The decking could do with a bit of a refresh, a coat of paint or such, but that shouldn't put prospective holidaymakers off.
Back from an amazing chilled week in Bowness.
What can I say about Buttermere Lodge but absolute perfection. The Lodge was better than we could have imagined, everywhere was so clean and the added touch of a bottle of prosecco was lovely. Lounge,dinning & kitchen and area where lovely & the beds were really comfy. We felt there were just 1 or 2 issues that could do with some attention, the bathroom floor felt very spongy around the sink area, the outdoor decking area could do with some attention. Also no information on any appliances, I know alot of them ate self explanatory but we could not fathom the microwave !

The lodge was equipped with everything we needed and more. Hot tub is a lovely bonus at the end of the day. Fantastic location for getting out and about in Bowness on Windermere without using the car. Would definitely return in the future.
Fantastic, well equipped and comfortable lodge which our family of 4 all felt very happy to stay in for 3 nights in February 2025.
It was warm, clean and felt like a home from home straight away. The icing on the cake for us was the hot tub. Despite being only a few degrees outside, it was always fun to chill out in there. The location is superb and only 5 minutes walk to all of the amenities of Bowness, yet still very quite during the day and night. Highly recommended. Would love to stay again.
Lovely clean, comfortable lodge with added bonus of a hot tub.
The site itself is situated within easy walk of Bowness which is a big plus all the facilities of the town are in way reach without having to use the car. Will definitely return.
Amazing stay, everything to hand that we needed.
Prosecco on arrival was lovely. Lodge is beautiful, clean and perfect size, hot tub was amazing and a great way to unwind.
We arrived at the Lodge on 22nd December 2024, We was absolutely thrilled to bits as they had put up a beautiful Christmas tree, also we were left a bottle of peoseco and chocolates with a Christmas card.
The lodge was beautiful and very very clean (I am very fussy with cleanliness and have OCD) but this lodge was exceptionally clean. There was everything we needed for cooking. Bed was comfy, Hot tub was great, the location of the lodge was perfect. Our dog was happy as she could wander on the decking and have a nosey at people walking past without getting out as it secure with a gate. Would highly recommend this lodge and we will definitely be coming back. Hopefully we can book this lodge again for next year. No complaints at all, it was perfect. Thank-you

Great location, clean, warm, and beautifully decorated. We visited the last week in November and loved the hot tub and the extra touches like the welcome bottle of Prosecco and the Christmas tree. Fantastic.

An excellent lodge.
Unfortunately the bath plug did not work so could only take showers. It would be useful to have a brush to sweep the fallen leaves from the balcony.
This is the second time we have stayed in this property and this stay was as good as the last.
Everything you need is provided and the welcome Prosecco is a very nice touch. Well maintained and very clean and the hot tub under the stars is amazing. Could well be booking for a third time very soon.
This was our 4th consecutive year staying at this lodge.
On access to the lodge, it was clean to high standards and in close proximity to all local amenities. We would be visiting again next summer, but unfortunately, the lodge is not available for the time frames we need.

Beautiful lodge very clean and comfortable hot tub was amazing.
Perfect location short walk to Bowness shops and restaurants. Other attractions easily reached by car and boat. Park facilities good handy little shop and coffee area. Bar and restaurant area very nice not to noisy comfortable and good food at a reasonable price, Only issue was the WiFi managed to connect to lodge WiFi but unable to connect to the internet and could not connect to park internet in the lodge only in the Clubhouse. The directions we were sent were incorrect said to exit M6 at junction 26 it should read junction 36 Also barrier code given was wrong not that it caused a problem we were just given the correct code by reception Al in all a wonderful week thank you we hope to return next year

It says no internet once connected. It also seems to be in a blind spot for free park wifi never locked on for long but apart from that great lodge stayed here a few times and already booked to stay again

Just back from a 4 night stay in Buttermere Lodge.
Having stayed a number of times at the park, this was my first stay at this lodge. Everything was perfect, from the complimentary Prosecco on arrival. Hot tub ready to use, and so clean. The lodge itself was literally sparkling and clean. Including bed linen and towels. Everything had been thought of, soap, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid. Definitely will be returning. Well done

We had a great holiday but was let down when we 1st arrived to the lodge not been cleaned beds left from previous occupants, along with towels in bath tub and stains in the toilet, after calling multiple times and waiting for a call back I finally asked the people that run the property for the owner to send out some fresh linen and towels as they said no cleaner could come out so late, by now it was around 1930 (this was 1830 when we first arrived after a 2 hour drive) so someone came out and dropped the linen off and took the dirty bits away I had already made a pile of, I carried on cleaning and changed one bedroom when there was another knock on the door, to my delight it was 2 lovely ladies come to clean the property, they were very quick and efficient and so lovely and apologetic that it had been missed.
Once all sorted by 9pm, we had 2 kids with us so we finically were able to make some food and eat, the rest of the holiday was great, hot tub was lovely, it was just a shame to arrive to a dirty lodge and kept been told I’d be phoned back, I had to phone 3 times to find out what was happening and the number in the book in the lodge was for the wrong night warden, he was based at the other park up the road.

The lodge is beautiful so tastefully decorated and everything you could possibly want unfortunately the weather was horrendous but would definitely book again in warmer months
What a beautifully lodge.
The style, decor and layout was perfect. All the facilities provided was great also . The only negative feedback I could give that there was some cobwebs and spiders that the cleaners had missed. Also a light suggest ..we actually put the 2 single beds together in the back room as we have a king bed at home and found the double to be a bit small. The lay out of the back room seemed to have more space and with the 2 beds together makes more like a superking and was still plenty of room ! Honestly was a great lodge and the only thing I would have changed was a bigger and bed .. such a great location on site and in bowness, was great to walk to places .
The property looked amazing from the outside unfortunately there was dog mess outside on the decking that simply was missed in a couple areas We could not sleep in the main bedroom for the overall small of damp which got even worse in the small bathroom hence why we never used it.
I had to sleep on the sofa while my partner and toddler shared one small single bed. The flooring in both en-suite and bedroom were damp and the smell was horrific. With my son having asthma this has meant he has returned with a new outbreak. A man attended the property each morning to attend to the hot tub without our knowledge. With the main bedroom being directly beside the hot tub I was disgusted when he appeared at the window while I was changing both myself and toddler. The service after has been horrific and would never use this company or lodge again

It was absolutely perfect we couldn't have asked for anything better. Everywhere was spotlessly clean- and the lodge had everything we could possibly need. We had a dog with us and it certainly wasn't a problem. The hot tub was lovely and someone came every day to check on this. We hope to come back in the future and would have no hesitation in recomending Buttermere Lodge to anyone.
This is our second time at this lovely lodge.
It is in an ideal peaceful location of Fallbarrow, yet close to all amenities in Bowness. The owner has installed a new kitchen and some new carpets which are lovely. Prosecco was also a lovely touch. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to come again in August 24 which will be our 4th year at Fallbarrow and 3rd year at this lodge. We didn’t want to leave. The hot tub was well maintained and it was a well deserved break after being out and about all day. We enjoyed cosy evenings and mornings on the decking… the lodge is in a peaceful and quiet area of the park.
Lovely comfortable property it would have been nice if the hot tub was under cover rather than just an umbrella aside from that fantastic stay and would certainly recommend it
Great dog friendly lodge in a quiet location.
Our second stay in this lodge. Great weather. Loved the new kitchen and sofas, but we could not reach the the cereal bowls, plates and glasses in the high wall cupboards. We are only petite and had to ask somebody to put them on the countertop for us. Hence when we left we could not reach to put them away. Sorry!

We are returning customers and totally love this lodge and the site it is on.
Everything was perfect and so nice that we are able to take the dog with us as well. My only negative (I am being picky) is we could have done with a larger duvet on the main bed. This is only a preference though as we are use to having a king sized duvet on a double bed.

The lodge is gorgeous this is the 2nd time we have stayed and the closeness to Bowles’s is brilliant, just a five minute walk.

The lodge was lovely and had everything we needed.
It was very clean, well maintained and certainly big enough to accommodate 3 adults and a Jack Russell. The location on the park in a quiet area was perfect with a short walk to all the amenities in the park and Bowness-on-Windermere. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lodge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break and the property was superb with only one point letting it down.
The facilities, including the hot tub were excellent, and was generally in a good, clean state. The only thing that let it down was the bed(s). The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable making sleep difficult.

Absolutely loved this place really tastefully done, very comfy and great location The only thing I could say is that lighting outside is quite limited, parking the car was a little struggle in the dark as there’s not much street lighting!

Lovely lodge very comfortable fully equipped kitchen ample supply of crockery, utensils.
And plenty of glasses for our wine. On arrival there was a nice bottle of Prosecco waiting for us what a nice surprise. Nice outdoor space with patio table and a lovely hot tub only downside of the hot tub it could do with some steps to get in and out as my wife struggled as she is only little ( 5ft ) the lodge is situated very close to the lovely town of Bowness and the lake with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops all within easy walking distance. Will definitely be returning.

A lovely lodge in a great location, electricity supply tripped once during our recent stay at a point outside of the lodge, reported this by telephone and there was a team here almost as fast as I got off the phone who had the problem fixed straight away, fantastic service from very helpful guys.
Already booked again and looking forward to staying in this lodge once more.

The cottage was lovely close to the entrance but also close to the lake and doggy park if you have your furry friend with you there was lotsa in the living room and the couch was very comfy would highly recommend this lodge

The lodge is nice but very tired in many areas.
It totally needs revamping, especially the bathrooms, silicone etc Has been 'bodged' The lodge would benefit from a deep clean, skirtings etc Our hot tub did not work for 3 nights but was eventually repaired. Communication was good in relation to this. Wifi was literally non existent even with the boost box. Parkean really need to sort this out upgrade as they promised years back. Not acceptable in 2022.

Arrived on a wet and blustery day to find the heating had been switched on so the lodge was warm and cosy and a bottle of Prosecco in the kitchen; both lovely touches and very much appreciated.
We found the lodge to be very comfortable and modern. Some TlC might be needed in some areas but certainly no worse than what you’d probably need to do in your own home. Kitchen was well equipped, lounge area comfortable and beds we found to be comfy and warm (some staining on quilts we noticed when stripping the beds on departure day but that can easily be resolved). The location of the lodge was perfect (in a quiet little cul-de-sac and pretty close to the main entrance. We’ve been to the lakes on a number of occasions but this time we were planning on staying in and around Bowness/Windermere and we didn’t use the car once which suited our two cockerpoos perfectly! Fallbarrow is one of the nicest, quietest sites we’ve stayed at and would definitely recommend due to its prime location. Lovely walks around the site and being able to walk along lake Windermere was perfect. I highly recommend Buttermere Lodge and Fallbarrow Park.

Property on a whole seemed acceptable to begin with.
General hygiene was below standard, the bath was dirty(had to wash out ourselves) ensuite shower had black mould around it, family bathroom shower head was not usual size and glass curtain constantly leaked and flooded bathroom. Could add more problems but it would take up to much of my time. Contacted owners with photos of this. Response was they will let the cleaning contractors about these problems, in my opinion will take more than cleaners to sort these problems. Did not feel that the owner was interested in any of this, very disappointed with this. Please be aware that not all reviews reflect the property. Will not be returning

Lovely Lodge, relaxing, great outdoor seating area and patio furniture and great location within Fallbarrow park (small quiet cul de sac).
The hot tub was fanstastic and welcomed after a full days walk. Great facilities within the lodge and is clean. Definitely value for money. Beds very comfortable. Some areas could do with a little modernisation but overall we couldn't fault it. We loved it that much we have booked the same lodge next year. This is our second time at Fallbarrow and it is a great location in the lakes. Although it is situated in Bowness, the park itself is quiet and we spent days / evenings sat by the Lake whilst our child went swimming... there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars nearby you can eat out, some nights we cooked in and we had a takeaway. Defo recommend Vinegar Jones for a fish and rag pudding takeaway and Bodega if you like tapas.

We had a lovely stay at buttermere lodge as a family with a baby and a dog.
The decking area was perfect for our dog to lie outside. The hot tub was fab and well maintained by a man who came everyday to check the chemicals etc. there was a bottle of Prosecco on arrival which was a really nice start to our stay. The lodge was perfectly situated on the park so we didn’t have lots of hills to go and down, it was all on flat level and a very short walk to bowness. We loved a walk in each day. There was a washing machine but we only used it once. The bath was great so I could keep my son in his routine with bath and bed etc. A bbq was provided and we enjoyed a few nice bbq’s with our family who came to visit for the day. The DVD player was handy and we took dvds up for the evenings. Would love to revisit in the future.

It was like a home from home. It was a lovely warm lodge, the heating and shower were both nice and hot. There are TVs in both bedrooms. Fantastic location, 5 minute walk to the shops in Bowness. It’s also a good base to visit places around the Lakes by car which we did. The electricity did trip when we got there but maintenance were there within 5 minutes of me ringing them. Couldn’t ask for a better service. Would definitely recommend this lodge and I will definitely be re-booking this again. Overall a fabulous relaxing stay.

Just a quick note to say I spent 3 nights at Buttermere Lodge with my 2 daughters aged 17 and 12, everything was as you would expect and more.
The owners provide everything that you need apart from food, it was spotless, warm and cosy. The complimentary bottle of fizz was an added bonus for me to relax in the hot tub! Site facilities are great, a very friendly and quiet site would definitely stay again. Thank you Sykes Holiday cottages.
Lodge is absolutely fantastic beautiful throughout however the company are disgusting I has no heating or hot water on my last night with 2 children under 2 and couldn't get in contact with anyone ended up going home 11pm and the company were uselss never had a proper with lake district lodges but sykes are a awful company with a bad reputation never again
Buttermere lodge had everything you needed for a weekend away.
Fallbarrow park is perfect location with a 2 minute walk straight on in to Bowness with all the bars. The lodge is perfectly located near to the main reception and the onsite pub/cafe. On Saturday we had a lovely walk around the park with easy access to Lake Windermere. The hot tub made the lodge - beautiful quiet location & was always warm anf ready to use.
We had a great time here and had a comfortable stay.
We enjoyed using the hot tub and facilities on site. The site WiFi is poor and so is the tv reception in the lodge but this is only a small detail for us. We were unable to book a table for a meal, instead you just turn up and hope for the best. We decided not to bother as the menu was very limited and expensive for what it was. You are in walking distance to Bowerness so we ate out locally instead, with lots of different places to choose from. This is the second time we stayed on site here but our first time using Lake District lodge holidays, we were meant to stay last year but due to lock down we were able to cancel and got a refund so we decided to book again with you. We’d definitely consider this lodge again if we were to visit again but the prices would need to drop back down to the same price we paid this time as they have gone up considerably. We adore this lodge and have been staying for several years now to enjoy a birthday or other celebration.
Its a great lodge in a lovely part of the park and we have made some wonderful memories there. We are devastated that this will be our last stay, having paid £600 for three nights this year, the same three nights next year is now over £1300.
We really enjoyed the holiday and loved the hot tub the location of the lodge was great close to the centre and a nice walk to the lake.

Well situated with good, clean facilities. We did have a couple of gas & electricity issues on arrival but the maintenance team sorted them out very quickly and in a friendly manner. Excellent stay and we can’t wait to return.
Lovely long weekend in great accommodation
Fantastic log cabin just outside the centre of Bowness. The accommodation is to a really high standard and the hot tub is a nice treat. The weather wasn't great for our stay but Bowness is in walking distance and the cabin is so comfortable it was nice just to relax and stay in watching the rain! There is a bar, restaurant and deli on the holiday park. Despite the warning about mobile reception, we didn't have any problems with O2. The free wifi however only seemed to be for 30mins per day. We would definitely return again and hope for better weather!

Luxury in the centre of Bowness
We spent a lovely few days in this lodge. Weather was typical lake district weather (wet!) but this just let us enjoy the lodge that bit more. My 15 year old daughter especially loved the hot tub and was in it every night. The fact that it was dog friendly was a big plus factor for us and our Lab enjoyed it as much as we did. We had no heating the second day (gas cylinder had ran out) and even though it was out of office hours there was a quick response from the Lodge agency and the matter was sorted promptly. The cabin is suburb, as is the location, Dale Way walk is a great walk and just a short distance from the cabin, The hot tub is a fantastic extra and great to relax after a days walking. Brilliant time at buttermere lodge
As soon as we arrived at our lodge we were very pleased. From the outside it looked perfect and when we entered this continued, even down to the lovely smells. Home from home, everything you could possibly need and more. Perfect lodge, perfect location and what's more allowed to take our dog. Could not recommend this highly enough. Loved our stay at Buttermere lodge. Great location, 3-5 minute walk into Bowness with plenty pubs, restaurants and our wee girl (9) loved The BeatrixPitter experience.. Only a 3/4-1 hour walk into Windermere, which is good in the nice weather.. Lots of walks to suit dogs in the surrounding areas.. The park itself that Buttermere Lodge is on has good facilities with play park, pub/restaurant and shop.. The lodge was a home from home and the hot tub was a great added extra.. We will definitely be returning, great value for money stay and would recommend to family & friends.. Booking through Lake District Holidays was great so easy and they kept you informed with instructions about our stay, they even telephone a few days before we arrived to ensure we had all instructions with us and for us to enjoy our stay which was a nice appreciate touch.. Lovely break at fallbarrow park
Very impressed upon arrival, a complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch! Very impressed with the cleanliness and presentation 10/10. A bit on the pricey side however we were happy and more than impressed with the lodge and location. The only downside was the bed, it was very small. I wouldn't say myself and partner are tall at all, we woke in the night with our feet sticking out of the bottom and kept waking each other in the night with there not being much room, sadly we left a night early due to the bed as we couldn't sleep well at all. The rest of the facilities were fantastic just a shame about the bed ! Fallbarrow park is a beautiful location to stay i would definitely come again. Just returned from a brilliant stay at this lodge. The place was spotless and everything was exactly how we had hoped it would be. The hot tub was a great addition to the lodge and is just what is needed after a long day walking on the hills and around the lakes. What did you enjoy most about your stay? It's location. The best lodge EVER!!!!
Well what can we say......... on arrival the whole lodge was immaculate inside and out. This has got to be the nicest lodge we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a few in fallbarrow over the last 10 years). The kitchen was well equipped and everything in working order including a dishwasher and a washing machine which was really handy. Two really good sized bedrooms, one twin and one double (with en suite ) which were both really comfortable and agood size family bathroom with bath. The hot tub was the added bonus to soothe those aching muscles. The lodge was a stones throw away from the complex bar, children's park and on site shop/cafe which has all of the essentials. We stayed for 4 days in mid October , lodge is excellent in an ideal location , hot tub was fantastic , my wife and daughter used this daily . Also used The facilities at the Fitness Centre just a few minutes away on the Ambleside Road , this was included in our stay and was a great addition to our stay. ButteremereLodge was spotless and very modern which made our stay very memorable , would have no hesitation to returning again. Our dog had a great time also , and enjoyed the Lodge also . We booked our stay via Lake District Holiday Lodges , they provided service which we considered to be first class , and we will have no hesitation in using them again in the future , they kept us fully informed at all times , with additional extra touches such as telephoning us and texting us to wish us a great holiday , one of the best companies I have ever dealt with and as I said we will use them again and highly recommend them to prospective customers. Fabulous weekend!
This is a fabulous lodge which more than met our requirements. The pictures shown on the website don't do it justice. We stayed in November and the lodge was lovely and warm. Once we had parked on the Friday there was no need to use the car again as everything is in easy walking distance. We were so impressed we have already booked again for next year. Buttermere lodge is a bright , modern well equipped cabin with hot tub. Whitecross Bay is in a great location , between Ambleside and Bowness ( lots of great walks for our dog ) . Lovely half term break
We stayed in Buttermere Lodge Mon-Fri half term week. It was clean, well maintained and had everything you would need. The hot tub is especially a lovely treat. Lovely lodge in a great location. The lodge had everything we needed & felt very spacious. Comfortable sofas & beds and the hot tub was a great bonus. The decking area is a suntrap and we were lucky with the weather to be able to eat outside and make use of the patio furniture. The park felt very peaceful and its difficult to believe you are a stones throw from the busy Bowness on Windermere. There are many pubs and places to eat a short walk away. Stunning lodge
This is a stunning lodge on a very desirable park so near all Windermere has to offer. It has everything you need for a great holiday. It is well furnished and comfortable throughout. We couldn't have been more pleased. The lodge has only 3 stairs onto the decking which was a big plus for me as I struggle with stairs and an easy walk to all attractions. The hot tub is a big bonus to relax in even if the weather is poor. We have already booked our next stay here for 2018. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lodge to friends and family. My family enjoyed a seven day break at Buttermere. The lodge was very comfortable with excellent facilities. The livingroom spacious and bright. The kitchen had every possible utensil and lovely extras glasses table mats . The bonus was the Hot tub which was great after a day out sughtseeing . Amazing Lodge & Amazing Location
Stayed at Buttermere Lodge in Bowness on the 15th - 18th June 2018 with my wife and 2 small dogs and yet the weather was not the best it didn't stop us having a wonderful time in the lakes. Having been to Bowness a number of times, I have always wanted to stay in Fallbarrow Park and when this came up and we arrived at the lodge, we couldn't be more surprised on how great the lodge was - Easy Check in at reception, straight to the lodge which was no more than 100 yards away and when we opened the door it was stunning. Clean throughout, very spacious and the added bonus of the hot tub. Although the weather wasn't great, it came down to the location as the lodge was a 2 minute walk in to Bowness where all the action is. I would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone wanting to come to the lakes in the summer or winter as it is perfect lodge to stay at with a small family and ideally located for all bars, shops and restaurants. I booked this lodge for my Mums 50th birthday week. Before arrival I received extensive information in regards to the stay which was very helpful. The lodge itself is in the perfect location on the park and felt very private, as well as a handy walk to reception and bowness itself. The lodge was immaculate with everything you could have possibly needed for your stay. The hot tub was fab and a great way to chill out after a long walk. Great lodge in an amazing location
Fantastic cabin in a brilliant location. Plenty of space for 4 adults and our labrador. 5 minute walk to centre of Bowness. A stunning lodge, fabulous hot tub, great location
Buttermere lodge is stylish, beautifully decorated and immaculate. It had everything we needed for a great holiday which we thoroughly enjoyed. We absolutely loved the hot tub...... what a way to relax!! The lodge is situated on a lovely site 5minutes walk to lake Windermere. The bar / restaurant on site was good but we only popped in once for quick drink. My daughter loved the park, going on a boat trip and visiting Peter Rabbit World. Dogs are welcome practically everywhere so our spaniel Harley enjoyed his holiday too!! Home from home
We stay at fall barrow park every year just in different locations of the park. Buttermere lodge is gorgeous well decorated and cosy like home from home. Well looked after and clean. Location is in a quite little cuddle sack off the park great location as only little walk to on site shop cafe reception and pub. Lakeside is only a short walk also. The hot tub is bonus to relax after a day out walking and exploring. We will defintly be coming back for another stay . What did you enjoy most about your stay? Fantastic stay in Buttermere Lodge!
We had a amazing time in Buttermere Lodge! The lodge was clean, comfortable and perfectly placed. The hot tub was a great feature and we all enjoyed relaxing under the stars. The beds were incredibly comfortable which is a must and the showers were powerful, there's even a washing machine should you need it. I would highly recommend this lodge. Fell short of usual standards
We have stayed in many lodges with your company over past few years. However, we were very dissappointed with buttermere. On arrival the oven hadnt been cleaned so my mum had to do this. The bedding was very old and towels old with dirty stains on. Mum had to ring me to bring some from home as i only arrived on the wednesday. The customer service from reception was just downright rude. Stood their sucking on a sweet whilst we tried to ask questions. Wonderful stay to beat the January Blues
Myself and my husband visit here the same time every year and this was the best trip so far. Perfect position
The lodge is set back so privacy is guaranteed. Very few if any people walk by making the hot tub that extra bit special. All amenities a five minute stroll away. Buttermere Lodge Stay
Loved Buttermere lodge, very clean and comfortable and fantastic location. Handy for walking into Bowness and a great base for exploring the Lakes. We used the bar twice - played Bingo with the kids and used the arcade which they loved. Kettle was broken but replaced the next day and needed an airer to hang wet washing on which was provided the next day also - great service. We loved the hot tub - especially the kids. And it was so nice walking the dog round the park and down to the lake - stunning views of Windermere. Everyone very friendly and helpful, would definitely return and recommend to family and friends. We were lucky with the weather and only had 1 day of rain, so we went swimming that day to Choices up the road which was included in the lodge price. Great Holiday, Great Lodge but signs of Ageing.
Stayed at the Buttermere Lodge for the 2nd year running and this time we stayed on dates 16th September 2019 until 23rd September 2019 and we couldn't have picked a better week for the weather. The location of the Buttermere Lodge is a stones throw away from the Centre of Bowness which is ideal. When we arrived the lodge was as we remembered but on settling in to the lodge on our first day we noticed it wasn't as clean as we thought. We found a stain on the carpet near the bathroom door, toe-nail clippings in the sitting room, splash marks up the main doors and the kitchen cupboard doors and it was very dusty around the beds and this was only noticed when we nudged the bed slightly and it appeared to have loads of fluff. I would say though, that once we noticed this, we contacted Lake District Lodge Holidays and within an hour, the cleaner was there to give it a thorough clean and we were very happy with the lodge moving forward so the service was second to none. I think the lodge is starting to see small signs of wear and tear wit ha lot of spiders webs which I think should be cleaned for the arrival of each customer and the lodge is expensive having paid nearly What did you enjoy most about your stay? Amazing lodge, perfect location
This lodge is ideally situated for exploring the lakes and is a great place to base yourself. The lodge is beautiful, modern and very clean and loved that the heating was on when we arrived which made it nice and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. I loved that it had a washing machine which was used only when we got out the hot tub to rinse and spin our swim wear. There is a clothes dryer/clothes horse to put your wet clothes on too and it soon dried in the warm lodge. The hot tub was beautiful and very welcome after a long day of walking in the hills and around the lakes. We will definitely be back again to this lodge, perfect stay and very relaxing. Lovely Lodge
We stayed in September and had a lovely stay. The lodge was very clean and welcoming and in a great location on the park. Bowness is less than a 5 minute walk away and we loved having a walk down to the lake. The lodge itself has everything that you would need while you are there. Park Rules and Operations – Fallbarrow
All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.
Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
Hot Tubs
For the comfort of other holidays guests we request that noise is kept to a minimum. Usage of the hot tub is between 10am and 10pm only. If you are found to breach these timings then you may be asked to vacate the park with no call for a refund.
All hot tubs are maintained to strict industry standards and HSE guidelines by separate qualified independent contractors on behalf of the property owners. This includes changing the water between guest stays and checking the water condition on a regular basis.
Whilst every effort is made to have a hot tub ready for immediate use by the arrival time stated, this may not always be possible. In such cases the hot tub will usually be ready to use later that day unless otherwise advised. In such cases no compensation or refund is payable unless the hot tub is faulty.
Information about using a hot tub safely is provided at all lodges with a hot tub and on a prominent notice near the tub. All hot tub users should wear an appropriate bathing suit. Usage of a hot tub is at a guests own risk and Lake District Lodge Holidays accepts no liability for anything which may happen to a guest as a direct result of using a hot tub.
Complimentary WiFi is provided by the park and subject to fair usage guidelines. Quality and reliability of connection will vary based on the number of people using it, prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to. WiFi is for personal use only and is not intended for high data usage, gaming and/or use for business purposes, This is only suitable for page browsing and sending emails. Bookings cannot be accepted if they are solely reliant on the provision of uninterrupted and unlimited Wi-Fi, We are not held responsible or liable for the WiFi on the park.
