Description
Daffodils is a modern and spacious lodge in the Oakside area of Fallbarrow Park and just a short stroll to the clubhouse and facilities with glimpses of the lake from the windows and the gated private deck.
Daffodils is tastefully decorated with a spacious living and lounging area, to cosy up by the fire and tv, or sit al fresco and enjoy the sunset.
Daffodils is a welcome retreat after a long day hiking or sightseeing.
There are two double bedrooms and two bathrooms so plenty of space for chilling out, making it ideal for couples.
Fallbarrow Park is one of the loveliest Parks in the Lake District, sitting right on the shores of Lake Windermere, with views across the lake and up to the fells all around.
The popular, cosmopolitan village of Bowness-on-Windermere is 0.2 miles walk away – you can be there in under ten minutes!
From Bowness Pier you can start an unforgettable day out on the water with Windermere Lake Cruises – board a beautiful cruiser and hop on and off or rent a canoe or a motorboat.
Bowness is home to many shops, bars and restaurants too.
Fallbarrow has on site bar, restaurant shop, and deli should you wish to stay local to your lodge.
There’s a children’s play area, beer garden, picnic area and woodland walks.
Further afield, drive up to Windermere village – two miles away, or the bustling market town of Ambleside four miles away.
You are only four miles from Troutbeck village at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass which winds its way up over the high fells and then down to Ullswater.
At Daffodils you will have a holiday to remember and head home relaxed and refreshed.

We had a lovely stay at Daffodils lodge.
Excellent location in the park, just 1 minute's walk from the lake. The lodge was clean, spacious, nice decor and generally comfortable. The kitchen and equipment was clean and well kitted out. My son loved the DVD collection. As it was August it was very hot in the lodge especially at night, having a fan in each of the bedrooms would have been nice. Also I feel the soft furnishings and carpets need a good clean or replacing as they were worn and fusty smelling from over use. Same applies to the bedding and towels as these were a little tired and not great to rely on for a week. Otherwise it was a really lovely stay thank you!

We are very pleased to hear you had a great week in daffodils and look forward to welcoming you back next year.
It was our first time staying in this lodge and, while we had a lovely holiday, there are a few maintenance and presentation issues that we feel need addressing.
On arrival, the lodge exterior appeared quite ‘tired’ compared to the neighbouring lodges, with the decking and exterior woodwork in need of a fresh coat of paint. Additionally, there was what looked like dried white paint splashed across the front door. Inside, we noted the following maintenance issues in the en-suite bathroom: There appears to be a leak between the shower and sink, causing the bathroom floor to sink and feel unsafe. We had to keep a towel down all week to manage the water. There is mould around the bottom of the en-suite shower cubicle and the grouting is heavily discoloured (pics are available). On a more positive note, the rest of the lodge was spotless. The living and dining areas were spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped, which made our stay very comfortable.

The repair will be done and a refresh on the bathroom as soon as is possible without it impacted on peoples holidays. Following your feedback we will of course get our maintenance team to check it again which they will do on a regular basis. Regarding the exterior it is a natural compressed wood constructed by the builders of the lodge which are supposed to be left to ‘age’ naturally and not be painted. Excellent siting within Fallbarrow, the lodge was well laid out and very comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. Lovely outdoor seating area and decking will definitely book again.

This property is one of the best we have stayed in well maintained, very clean and spacious, ideally situated for Bowness, no need to use your car as everything is within walking distance.
Will be looking to book in the future. Looking to the future, some higher seating would be better for the older generation like our selves.

Our 1st stay in this lodge but will definitely be booking again - its a beautiful modern lodge equipped with everything you would need and ideally situated on the Lake and in Bowness village and we were lucky enough to take advantage of the decking most days due to gorgeous weather.

This was our second stay at Daffodils Lodge this year and it was only made better by the great weather we had, so we could make the most of the great decked area and outdoor table and chairs.

It was our first time at Daffodils Lodge and we had the best time .
We have been going to Windermere for many years for day trips and weekend stays but never stayed in a lodge .We most definitely will be staying here again in the future.The lodge is in there perfect area to explore the Lake at Windermere only 5 min walk to it . Plenty to do on the park too the pub food is lovely and my granddaughter loved the park . The nice thing is the park is right on the edge of the Lake and in the evening watching the sunset was magical. The lodge was very homely and very very clean the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need.The living area was very spacious and warmly and the bathroom was very clean. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds are the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and I loved the walk-in wardrobe and the ensuite in the master bedroom was brilliant. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful lodge, been in it a couple of times, the perfect spot for walking to the lake, and taking a picnic.

We are in our 80's and 1st time we have done this type of holiday and we really enjoyed it the lodge was brilliant really felt at home in it well equipped and location was good, had some lovely walks by the lake.

We stayed in Daffodils lodge for a week over the New Year and it was very comfortable, clean and warm.
It's in a great location to check out what Bowness and Lake Windermere has to offer or for setting off to visit other places in the Lake District. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked the lodge for a week in the summer.

I have given Sykes the lowest score we can for accuracy as I have already told you that you cannot describe this lodge as Brand New as we have stayed at this lodge 9 times over the past 15 years, firstly when it WAS brand new with Lakedistrictlodge hols, who I believe Sykes took over, then stayed latterly through Sykes and Park Dean.
If you took the trouble to check my account with you, it clearly shows that I used you as agent before. My point here is, how can we and our many other friends booking through Sykes actually believe how you describe a property when you make incorrect and misleading statements. This Lodge is very nice but is at least 16 years old. We have formally asked Park Dean to inform the owners of Daffodils of your incorrect information. We will check that Sykes have corrected this statement and if not, we and the many other people we know who use you will no longer be able to trust Sykes.
Thank you for choosing to stay at daffodils again. The information on Sykes website has now been changed and thank you for fetching this to our attention. For information daffodils lodge was built in 2017 so is only 7 years old and is located on ‘Oakside’ which is the most recent development on the park. It is good to hear you have visited Fallbarrow for so many years it is a lovely park. You have perhaps stayed in other lodges in the past as daffodils has only been accepting guests since late 2017. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
This is our 2nd stay at Daffodil lodge, we have stayed at a few on Fallbarrow park and this is by far the best it has everything you need inside the lodge and is extremely clean and tidy, thank you for a perfect stay.

On arriving we found the Lodge clean and welcoming.
The location is ideal for taking advantage of all that Bowness and Windermere have to offer within walking distance. The welcoming pack also helped provide information on places to visit, also took advantage of the swimming pool at the Health Spa .

Lovely lodge and a great stay.
A couple of small things to sort... the knives are really blunt and impossible to cut anything with; could do with a sieve in the kitchen, the colander isn't great for rice! The sofas seem a bit tired and not that comfortable. Everything else was spot on.

We have had many lodge holidays but have never arrived at a lodge that was freezing and that had no water at all, after speaking to three people at Sykes we received an e-mail notifying us that there was an ‘outage of water’ in that area, THIS WAS NOT TRUE, and only after my husband checked with neighbouring lodges found that in fact they had no problem with their water supply at all.
Fortunately one of the neighbours showed us a switch in the wall in the kitchen in their lodge with a large notice above with information to switch it on for the water. He came back to our lodge and after looking very carefully we found the switch, put it on and Hey Presto we had water. There were no instructions anywhere in the lodge file or anywhere in the kitchen to tell us how to get the water back on. We have never in all the years of lodge holidays have arrived at a lodge to freezing conditions ( the lodges have always been warm and ready for use) and no instructions to get the water back on. A very disappointing start to the holiday. Also the sofas were well past their sell by date, extremely well worn and most uncomfortable. This is our first time with Sykes cottages, we found the customer service/maintenance people pleasant but inefficient and would think twice before using them again.

We have looked into this, and would like to apologise as the information that you were given regarding the water outage was incorrect. However, there was a water outage in the surrounding area but was not affecting Daffodils. We will be attending the lodge to check that the information provided in the file is correct and up to date. We do find that sofas are down to personal preference. We take all comments left seriously and will be ensuring that our high standards are met. We had a great stay at Daffodils as a family of three in October.
The property was excellent from the location (both on the park and in Bowness on Windermere) to the quality of the lodge and its facilities. It was lovely being so close to the water and the town as it meant we could go by foot to most of the things we wanted to do. We will definitely be back!

1st to 8th September 2023 Daffodil lodge was perfect and was equipped with everything you could possibly want for a comfortable and happy stay in the lakes, if I were nit picking the mattresses are very soft and possibly in need of replacing.
The only item we were unable to find was the cushions for outside furniture. We will definitely be booking and returning to the lodge in the future, the experience was 5 star, and the weather played it's part also as it too was perfect. All in all we had a wonderful holiday.

We found the lodge extremely well appointed and were extremely impressed with all the extra touches to make our stay so comfortable, everything you could need was supplied even spare light bulbs as we had to replace one and was so impressed a selection was provided.
In my opinion you have went above and beyond to ensure anyone staying at the lodge has a wonderful experience of such a beautiful part of the country. Will definetely book again for next year and would highly recommend to anyone else
Another amazing stay at Daffodils lodge, great location A couple of things could have made this the perfect lodge: Bedding had a large stain on it Mats and coaster’s hasn’t been cleaned Wrapping on the kitchen units cracked in places Unfortunately there was no cushions for the outside furniture None of the above would stop me booking again but feel the cleaners need to ensure all is to a high standard

Daffodils is a lovely comfortable and modern lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
With the lodge being a stones throw from the lake and on the flat it’s ideal for pushchairs or people with mobility issues. We will loved our stay and will definitely be booking again!

Daffodils is a lovely lodge with everything you could need for a great stay.
We cut short our stay after just 1 night due to the beds, sofas and position of the lodge but this should not put others off. I had taken my elderly parents and the beds and sofas no longer have sufficient support in them - all being well used - and as my dad had spinal problems to start with we were unable to work around that. The lodge is on a very busy thoroughfare making it impossible to sit with French windows open at night and because the weather was beautiful we found it stifling. If you’re younger or travelling as a family, peace probably won’t be as important to you.

We often find comfort is a personal preference, after discussing your comments with the owners, they have advised the beds and sofas are less than 2 years old. The location of the property is clearly shown on our website and the lodge is on an operational holiday park. All that said, we do hope you enjoyed what the Lakes has to offer and we are glad you found the lodge to be fully equipped with everything you need for a great stay.
The lodge inside is immaculate and very well looked after.
It's got loads of space and is really well equipped. We loved spending time inside the lodge. Falbarrow itself is a great location with easy access to Lake Windermere and Bowness on foot. Sadly the location of the lodge was an issue. The decking area overlooks a 5 road busy junction so you see every lost car and noisy maintenance vehicles several times and bin day was awful with the huge bin lorry passing loudly several times. It didn't spoil the holiday but we couldn't really relax on the decking.

Enjoyed a lovely stay in a clean, well equipped lodge.
The only suggestions would be a thinner, lighter tog duvet as the weather was very warm when we visited and a separate bin for separating recycling waste. Hope to be back again.

The lodge was absolutely stunning with a lovely little view of the lake in the distance and only about a minutes walk from the lake itself. Only about a 2 minute walk from the entrance too which was so handy since we were on foot for our trip and had suitcases to haul. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the lodge and how well equipped it was. One minor point is that the shower in the en suite dripped constantly. The site was well maintained and very clean. We were disappointed with the evening menu in the Willow Tree Restaurant and as a result did not stay to eat in there.

Lodge was home from home.
The owners have thought of everything! Our only criticism was that the extractor fan did not work in the en-suite which caused a musty smell.

From the moment we arrived we loved it! Stayed in many lodges and by far this is our favourite. It is stylish, has everything you need to be comfortable, and the location is stunning. Fabulous lodge break at Daffodils on Windermere
My husband and I had a wonderful break in daffodils lodge. The lodge was spotlessly clean with a lovely modern fresh interior. The facilities within the lodge were excellent. We were very lucky with the weather for February and enjoyed 3 days of sunshine and blue skies. We would love to return to this lodge it was nice being based within walking distance of Windermere as we were able to walk on an evening and try out different places to eat. Beautiful lodge, would recommend but let down by sleeping facilities
Pros: Excellent location in Bowness and on the holiday park site. Site kept clean and tidy, Lodge was immaculately presented. The kitchen was very well equipped Overall, the lodge facilities were extremely good, includig a DVD blu-ray player Cons: Not many facilities, and what facilities were on site only seemed to accommodate young children. For example- We tried to enjoy a late family meal in the Restaurant on site which was ruined due to the very loud childrens entertainer. For the rest of the stay we ate off site or in the lodge. Bath towels too small - but they were lovely and soft. The MAJOR issue with our stay was the mattresses which were extremely uncomforable which resulted in my daughter and grandson having to sleep on the sofas . Bedroom 2 - despite the mattress situation, for the few hours spent in that room it was noisy which I believe was due to plumbing or guttering issues. Because of the mattress situation, this would prevent us from booking this particular lodge, which os a shame as the actual lodge was lovely. What did you enjoy most about your stay? I have stayed in several lodges in the Lake District and have to say Daffodils Lodge is my favourite. Pristine, beautiful d What did you enjoy most about your stay? Loved having such beautiful accommodation to come back to after a day's exploring or walking. Comfy sofas, big TV for the kids, lovely bathroom with bath as well as shower. Also loved the walk-in wardrobe...was brilliant to be able to unpack our bags and hang everything properly. No travel bags or paraphernalia lying around to trip over! Rydal Water/Grasmere circular walk starting from Pelfer Bridge car park (outside Ambleside along Rydal Rd and over the little bridge on the left). Circular walk (top path) takes you around Rydal Water (and the caves) and then on to Grasmere. Stop for lunch in Grasmere then carry on past Dove Cottage and along Coffin Rd to cross over main road to other side of Rydal Water and back to car park. Beautiful!

Wonderful Daffodils
on opening the door we were taken aback by the quality of this lodge the whole place is well appointed and we even had a view of the lake. By far the best lodge we have ever stayed in. The lounge and dining furnishing was comfortable the kitchen well appointed and both beds very condusive to a good nights sleep, The entire lodge was extremely well cleaned on arrival and the information about the appliances was a great help. The lodge location on the site is near to both the lake and the sitee facilities and wth such a short walk into Bowness the car was not needed and the parking problems avoided. Fantastic weekend.
We had a fantastic stay at Daffodils lodge. Four adults and our 16 month old grandson, who loved feeding the ducks every day, couldn't fault anything. It was so lovely clean, comfortable and has everything you need. It's position is great also as just a few minutes from Bowness, you don't have to use your car if you don't want to. One night we used the chippy just outside the park, excellent fish and chips! We will definately be booking again to stay in this beautiful lodge. What did you enjoy most about your stay? A great first visit to the Lake District
Daffodils is a lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped lodge. In an excellent position on Fallbarrow Park and in a great location as a base for exploring the beautiful scenery of the lakes. This is a well presented and very comfortable lodge providing everything you may need for a relaxing break. Fallbarrow Park is well kept and is in an ideal position to enjoy Bowness and the surrounding area without having to use the car as the public transport is excellent. Visit to the Lakes
This was our second visit to Daffodils in 6 weeks. It is a very comfortable and well equipped lodge in very good condition. We had a very enjoyable stay. The only quibble was that on arrival, we found a gas ring had been left ON, presumably by the cleaners. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Beautiful lodge in a perfect location
Daffodils lodge is a beautiful modern lodge with a lovely homely feel . This was our first holiday with our newborn and it did not disappoint! The living space was large enough for all the baby bits without feeling cramped. The bedrooms were well decorated and the beds were comfortable. We have stayed on many occasions at Fallbarrow and in different accommodations, but we feel that the Daffodil Lodge was by far the best. The position is great, the presentation is very homely, with everything you require to make your stay comfortable.We know all this is down to the owners, but I must give some praise to the cleaners who obviously do a great job. The lodge was really lovely and one of the best we have been in for a long time. Would recommend the lodge to any couple or family. Very comfortable and enough furniture to accommodate anyone. Extremely comfortable and very spacious
If you're looking for a lodge that feels like home, this is the one. The lodge was well-maintained, clean and had a warm comfortable feel in general; It has previously been mentioned to be one of its kind in comparison to other lodges in the vicinity - and while I can't make a fair judgment (because this is the only lodge I've stayed in at Fallbarrow Park) I can understand why... My stay was with a partner, and found that it was more than enough room for just the two of us: I would highly recommend Daffodil's Lodge to couples and families. Just lovely!
Ideal break for families and couples. Beautiful lodge on quiet location. Although a thoroughfare it was super exciting for our twin grandsons (aged3) to acknowledge everyone walking past and letting them know how excited they were staying at Daffodils. Slight inconvenience of two doubles as the boys are used to their single beds. No problems though we pillowed down the centre to give them 'own space'. Town and shops easy accessible also boat trips, train ride, lakes , swans, play park, shop and restaurant. Swallows and Amazons come to mind in this idyllic holiday park. Super Lodge and Perfect Location
We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful lodge and could have happily stayed for 2 weeks. It was booked at short notice and we were so fortunate this was available. The booking was very well managed, with texts and emails throughout the whole process. The lodge itself was to a very standard. Everything was super clean, well laid out, modern and well equiped. We felt very comfortable and did not experience one negative thing about the lodge or its location. Everyone had such a relaxing break; the walk down to the Marina/Lake Windermere is literally 2 minutes along a tarmac'd road. You can see Lake Windermere when sitting on the patio - amazing location! Bowness in Windermere was only a 5 minute walk. We stayed local so the car didn't move for 3 days. It was our group's (4 adults) first visit to Fallbarrow Park and we couldn't have been happier. Another enjoyable and comfortable stay
Having stayed at this Lodge in June 2019 We were well impressed with the overall comfort of this Lodge so we booked a further stay for Sept2019. This Lodge is the nicest one we have stayed in at Fallbarrow. The furniture is excellent the equipment in the Lodge has everything you may require and the cleanliness is excellent. 4 Night Stay
Daffodils Lodge is the best lodge that we have stayed in to date, it has all the amenities that you require is in excellent condition and is in a good location within the park. We would have no hesitation on using this lodge again on our next visit to the lakes and if available on our next visit we will definitely look to book this lodge again. With regards to customer service this next comment is not in relation to the service we received from Lake District Holiday Lodges. We cannot understand why you cannot get a coffee in the on site bar after 5pm at night. On return from a day out we popped in and requested a coffee only to be told by staff that the machine gets switched off at 5pm every night. Why? Only suggestion I would make in regards to the lodge would be to install a towel rail in the bathroom for hanging/drying towels, other than that nothing could be faulted. This lodge is very clean brand new I'd say. With just a short walk to jetty. We had a wonderful stay and I will definitely recommend this lodge. gorgeous lodge with view of the lake
The lodge was spacious and very clean, the decor is so homely and stylish. If you wanted to cook there was every thing you would need, we only cooked breakfast. Lodge was lovely and warm and very cosy with the electric fire on. The lodge is higher than most Ive stayed in which gave us more privacy when relaxing on the couch which was lovely. There was parking for 2 cars at the side of the lodge which was very handy. Would highly recommend this lodge you will not be disappointed, but you will not want to leave.

Daffodils lodge is one of the nicest lodges we have stayed in at Fallbarrow. The decor and design of the lodge is excellent with comfy beds and everything you could need. The lodge had obviously been cleaned to a high standard and we had no worries about surfaces not having been sanitised etc. Lovely outdoor furniture on the decking to enjoy a few evening drinks. Wonderful family stay at Daffodil Lodge
We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the lodge, spotless, in fact some of the furnishings seemed new. The layout of the lodge suited us with a toddler as he could move around freely and safely. Lodge is located close to park and clubhouse as well as the lake and entrance to Fallbarrow which was useful. All dealing with Lake District lodges was positive and would certainly use them again. Everything excellent with the lodge. But the bar entrance rope across door, and asking to download a app create an account password etc . just to order a drink even if you were sat outside is to restrictive and time wasting. Daffodil lodge was excellent and really made our holiday.The park location was beautiful and the park a pleasure to walk around.We had negative issues with the restaurant and staff which has been documented already. Time away for my birthday
We stayed at the lodge for my birthday, we have stayed at a number of different lodges at Fallbarow and have to say Daffodil is one of the best. It was ideal for four adults and was exceptional clean and well cared for, we will definitely be returning. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The Most amazing family stay !!
Myself my husband and our 2 children stayed at Daffodil Lodge for a long weekend stay this October. I cannot rate it highly enough ! The lodge is stunning and was perfect for our family and I cannot wait to book another stay next year. The cleanliness was AMAZING !! Christmas cheer
We stayed at Daffodils Lodge over the Christmas week. On arrival we found the lodge to be clean and welcoming; easily meeting our expectations. The lodge is very spacious particularly in the open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen was well equipped and up to the task of cooking the Christmas lunch. The lodge is conveniently located close to the lake and the site facilities. We had no problems at the lodge and have already booked a return visit. What did you enjoy most about your stay? We would recommend a trip to the Rheged Centre taking in Ullswater on the way

Daffodils is accessed by 4 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.
A travel cot and highchair are not provided. Please bring your own. A travel cot will fit in the master bedroom only.
Fallbarrrow Park management lock the entrance gates at midnight. If you are arriving after midnight, please call the night warden.
Please note, charging of electric vehicles is not permitted in this lodge. The nearest charging point can be found at Booths Supermarket in Windermere.
Park Rules and Operations – Fallbarrow
All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.
Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
Complimentary WiFi is provided by the park and subject to fair usage guidelines. Quality and reliability of connection will vary based on the number of people using it, prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to.
