Loubi's Lakeside Lodge

Third time we have stayed in this property we have booked again whilst we were there as it is in the perfect location and a beautiful lodge nowhere better on Windermere 5 star

We hit really lucky with the weather and had a great stay.

Thanks!! We are yearly visitors to Loubi's Lodge and did notice that the property had been given a freshen-up and looked very good because of it. No complaints from us. All good! Everything was working and very clean. On top of all that. What a spectacular view of the lake and mountains!! We will be back next year.

The accommodation was very nice, comfortable and the location was excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home. However though there was everything you need for a comfortable stay some of the equipment was in a very poor state, the pans for example we would not use and did in fact purchase new ones at Lakeland for us to use. The oven/grill also left much to be desired so we were unable to use, sticking to the microwave only. A few other details require attention too. Apart from this we had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed the Lake District and Loubi’s Lakeside Lodge. We would definitely return in the near future.

the lodge lovely position and very comfortable just great for us.

The only negative was the kitchen just little things for cooking. The pans were very worn and need replacing. utensils and only one cooking bowl for oven use , no cheese grater. like i said only small things. Will definetly book again perfect location

The lodge is in a prime position overlooking the lake, very clean and tidy In my opinion the second bedroom is only suitable for children, small beds with sort of weird pull down cot sides on them with overly small duvets, and all the wardrobes covered in cartoon stickers, bit embarrassing really when we were sharing the lodge with another adult couple!

Also the curtains at the rear of the living area wouldn't draw across, there was only one curtain and it only went half way accross The lodge isn't cheap to hire, mainly due to its position, it could be 5 star rated

The lodge is in a good position overlooking the lake, comfy and well well presented, however I dont think its a good idea for 2 adult couples as the second bedroom is obviously geared towards 2 kids, small beds no good for big people with sort of fold up guards on them to stop you falling out!

The dishwasher emitted a weird smell of fish and didn't clean the dishes properly so we only used it the once, other than that all was okay

What an amazing place to take your family.

This was just what we needed. Amazing lodge, amazing location. Everything you could need and more. Will be returning soon as it was breathtaking views of the lake with the added 5 star accommodation.

Very spacious and well equipped. Very clean and everything done to a high standard. Fantastic views of the lake. Will definitely be returning.

Overall, we had a lovely week in Loubi’s Lodge and have a lot of good things to say about it but there are numerous issues that the owners need to be aware of.

This is meant as genuine and honest feedback because this has previously been a 5-star property, but we can’t give it 5 stars on this occasion. First impressions are very important and that is why we selected this property from the Sykes app. However, on arrival, our initial impression was one of shock and disappointment. In what we thought (from the listing's photos) was a beautiful and relaxing sitting area, we were greeted with an enormous pile of outdoor cushions sticking up haphazardly over the back of the sofa, and a child's highchair and clothes dryer lying higgledy-piggledy between the sofa and the back of the kitchen units. It looked, quite frankly, like a dumping ground. We were instantly deflated. We had booked this lodge for a week's relaxation and invited two friends to join us for a couple of nights. From the pictures, we knew they would be staying in two single beds but we were embarrassed to find cot sides on both of them, which we definitely were not aware of. There were maybe 50-100 kiddies’ stickers all over the wardrobes. Clearly a childrens room. This is not what adults want. Having re-looked at the listing, there is no indication that this is what we would find. We moved the highchair and the clothes horse into the wardrobe in the second bedroom which obviously then impacted the space available to the occupants of the room. Previous reviews have highlighted the difficulties with closing the very long curtain across the picture window. We also found this. On the first night, I had to ask my husband to pull it shut and initially he couldn't do it either because several of the curtain hooks were hanging down. I am guessing that previous guests may have pulled them down accidentally whilst struggling with the problem of closure. Every night, it was a case of carefully having to lift the rings over the brackets in order not to damage anything. Not brilliant. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen though it took some time to find the manuals for the cookers and microwave. It would have been great if the welcome pack had highlighted where they were, rather than us having to rifle through every drawer and cupboard. Likewise, we could not find a hairdryer which we eventually located in a drawer in the childrens room - not really where we would expect to find it. We had to call the maintenance woman because the ensuite bathroom sink would not retain water. We were impressed with the speed of her response, although the problem didn't actually get resolved while we were still there. Our fault for not reporting it earlier. The bed in the main bedroom was not that comfortable due to lumps and dips in the mattress and the enormously high pillows. I noticed that this also has been commented on in previous reviews. Once our friends had departed, we swapped the pillows over for those in the childrens room and thankfully, that improved the night’s sleep. It might be worth investing in a new mattress and/or offering an alternative pillow, as you would get in a hotel or Airbnb. A week is a long time and when you are paying top notch for something so you want to be assured of comfort. Despite all this, we would love to come back to Loubi's Lodge in the future because of all its good points. It is on a fantastic location on the park itself and is 5 minutes’ walk from Bowness. The decor was pleasing, kitchen facilities very good indeed and there were some lovely touches throughout. One snag though - I am under 5ft tall so couldn't actually reach the kitchen cupboards where the mugs and glasses were. A little step stool would have been appreciated. Hopefully the issues we’ve raised can be addressed.

We had a wonderful last minute short break at Loubi's Lake Side Lodge.

It was very clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet and being at the end of a line of lodges there was no cars or people walking past the veranda which looked directly onto lake Windemere. Both bedrooms were spacious which was a nice surprise for the second bedroom. The main bedroom was very comfortable with a super large shower. We would definitely book again.

Positives: Magnificent view of lake, quiet position, good parking space right next to lodge.

Overall, well equipped. Negatives: 'SMART TV' - we could only get Freeview channels so this is misleading - got someone out to look at this and she couldn't help. Curtains to bi-fold doors are a joke, almost impossible to draw. - we're in our 70s and had to stand on a chair to pull them across each day. No instructions about how to work anything, e.g. TV, oven, where to put rubbish. Large extra King size bed but very cheap bedding which was designed for ordinary king size bed. Instructions to location of lodge a bit difficult to follow, a map would help.

Loubi’s Lakeside Lodge never fails to please: beautiful, comfortable and well equipped, with an idyllic lakeside location.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at Loubi’s lodge.

The views from the lodge are amazing and the lodge itself is fantastic with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. We will definitely be returning again in the future.

Fantastic lodge and the location was superb for views of lake Windermere, everything you need at this accomodation, kitchen was equipped very well, living area is a great place to relax with the views,bedrooms all very comfy and clean,bathrooms very good.

only problem I had was entering the park barrier as this changes on a regular basis according to reception,but was quickly resolved by the staff, overall this was one of the best accommodations I've stayed in the lakes,parking, location was perfect for bowness and exploring further.excellent

Spent a week in Loubi’s Lakeside Lodge and it was lovely.

Clean and tidy and the milk in the fridge on arrival was a welcomed touch! Lovely position on the park with amazing views across the lake. We had no issues during our stay and would definitely book to stay again.

Stunning property.

One of the best, if not the best we’ve stayed at on fallbarrow. We’ve stayed in ALOT. Great position. Modern but homely feeling in the lodge. Great place. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely location of the lodge right on the edge of the lake very peaceful setting, fabulous view, comfortable surroundings.

We cleaned all around the lodge before we left to ensure it was how we found it, hope to return next year.

Loved the 'fly pasts' of the F35 jets! The Christmas

We booked this lodge for my partners 30th birthday, and wanted something special.

This ticked all the boxes for us as we also have a 3 yer old. My in-laws got on site early and were staying In a different lodge but went round to ours to put up banners and balloons on the outside as a surprise. This was done before we got up there and was kindly left by the cleaners which we really appreciate. When we walked in the lodge it was absolutely stunning,everything was spotless and smelt really clean. The added touch of the towels and cleaning products were great. The balance between kid and adult friendly was perfect it felt really homely and loved everything that was in there. All of us were amazed by the views, its so relaxing and great for the little one. When we were leaving rhe cleaners came up and were so friendly and kind and wanted to check that we had no issues during our stay which we didnt. We spent a week at this lodge and really enjoyed spending our time there, absoutley gutted to have to go home. We come up to fallbarrow a few times a year and if possible would love to keep coming back to this lodge. It will certainly not disappoint anyone that books it.

We have stayed at other lodges at Fallbarrow but this is by far the best lodge for luxury and the view is amazing.

The lodge is spacious and has everything you need. We would definitely stay here again. Only comment would be to provide bins in the bathrooms.

This lodge is fantastic, perfect location overlooking the lake and beautiful inside too.

The outside of the property need a lot of TLC Guttering leaking you get a shower when you go out of side gate.

No toaster, No clothes airer, light in bathroom reported but not fixed, shower in main bathroom leaking so badly you can not use. In En suite sink would not hold water plug not working. All reported not fixed. However view perfect.

This is a great lodge me and my family have been coming to fallbarrow park for thirteen years now.

This stay has been the best one so far as we stayed in a lot of the lodge on the park great location.We have booked up to stay here again next years and probably do the same next year thanks for a great lodge.

Lovely lodge in a quiet area of the park and the views over the lake were superb.

The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the lodge was mostly well equipped. Although it was too cold for us to use the outdoor furniture it looked very comfortable. Just a few small niggles. There was no toaster or hairdryer. The shower hose in the main bathroom leaked and there were no bins in either bathroom. Other than this it was a lovely stay.

Lovely property in an ideal spot, the only thing tiles in main bathroom grouting looked dirty, also would have been nice to have a toaster.

We stayed at the lodge for 4 nights and loved every minute of it We have been coming to fallbarrow for over 15 years and this is by far the nicest lodge (I think we would only book this from now on) You do get a WOW when you walk in and the view is amazing We had everything we needed in the lodge.

It has been decorated to a high standard We loved the comfy bed and the powerful shower ensuite. I would highly recommend it to anyone and the owner is very lucky to have such a beautiful property in a perfect location So lucky that we found it

Great place to stay with superb views across the lake.

The Lodge was very clean and modern. We survived storm Isha and Jocelyn but had to retrieve the patio furniture from the hedge in the mornings lol. The Restaurant on site served nice food at a fair price. Easy access into Bowness for a walk around or a river cruise. The internet kept dropping out but it didn't bother us to much. The lodge could do with a toaster and a hairdryer for a bit more convenience but overall it was well worth the stay and we would recommend it to anyone.

Quality lodge.

Furnishing and equipment was excellent and better than we have had previously staying on fallbarrow. The view makes it though, didn’t want to go out!

The lodge was very well equipped and very comfortable.

The view was incredible and we had a thoroughly enjoyable week in Bowness.

Superb stay - the lodge was immaculate.

Amazing location. Only feedback would be there was a strange smell in the bathroom - a bit like smoke (which I'm sure it wasn't!) upon arrival. Regardless, that didn't detract from an amazing family holiday. We would 100% be back.

Only downside, too many spiders webs and spiders in the house.

We had a fantastic stay at Loubi’s Lakeside Lodge.

The lodge was immaculate, comfortable and private. We loved waking up to the fantastic lake view every morning. We will miss that. We would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

I booked this lodge for my husbands 65th birthday treat, and what a treat it was!

We absolutely loved it. It rained one day and I was so pleased as it meant we had to stay in the lodge and not go for a walk that day, hahahaha. We would definitely be looking to go back and stay in Loubi's Lodge. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay there for a week.

In an amazing position right near the lake with beautiful views.Fantastic decking and furniture. Fully equipped with everything you need. Comfortable beds and luxury bedding.Loved every minute - we will only ever book to stay at this lodge when we goto Fallbarrow again. Couple of tiny suggestions: little bins in bathrooms would be really useful and another bedside lamp in master bedroom but nothing to fault at all so thank you for a great stay xxx

Beautiful Lodge in a Perfect location!

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. We’ve been coming to the Lakes for years and stayed in many lodges but this one has to be up there with the best we’ve stayed in. Clean, comfortable and everything you need for a great stay. The location of this lodge is perfect. Quiet with outstanding views of the lake, which is merely metres away. Fallbarrow Park is ideal for walking in to Bowness. The children’s toys and DVDs in the lodge made my 5 year old very happy! We would definitely recommend this lodge to family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. A great week away!

WOW, WOW, WOW!

We had an amazing time at this beautiful Lodge. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable beds and sofas. Bed linen beautiful and soft and the largest main bed we have ever stayed in. Kitchen fully equipped for any meals you wished to prepare and bathrooms just perfect. Lodge was set on a heating timer and was always warm and snug. View from the lodge to the lake was fabulous even on a rainy day it was so relaxing. Would not hesitate to recommend this to family and friends and will definitely be returning. Thank you for an amazing holiday :-)

No toaster.

No Bathroom bins. Surprised no mattress protectors! Rainwater gutter above Bathroom window blocked, so water therefore cascades onto gate below. Safety issues - - wash basin and mirror above too close, bang your if you lean too far forward. - extract canopy above hob far too low, very easy to bang your head.

Great place, fantastic view but would recommend a few tiny improvements: - More detail regarding how to get to the lodge, maybe draw a map, it was very easy to get lost when first arriving - Buy new bed sheets, they were rough to touch and very coarse - Maybe allow for certain basic products to stay in the kitchen, like salt, pepper, toilet, etc.

I understand there may be hygienic limitations, so not entirely sure on this, but still would be better to reduce overall waste. Other than, absolutely gorgeous cabin, very guarded and private, my family and I spent some beautiful days there.

Best lodge we have stayed in, would love to stay again.

Our stay was magical….

.overlooking lake Windermere from the comfort of our lodge was a wonderful experience. We were impressed with the cleanliness, numerous facilities, quality of the fixtures and fittings. I didn’t want to leave! We loved the geese, swans and ducks that approached us and we even went and bought them appropriate food so we could feed them they were so tame. Being right in Bowness was a perfect location to get out and about across Cumbria - we did t realise we were on 45 miles from the Scottish border until this trip! We will be returning on 2023 - thank you so much for a fantastic stay. 11/10 is our score! S&R

Beautiful accommodation and perfect setting.

Could not fault anything, everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely comfortable bed, whole lodge warm and cosy. Did have a problem with the hot water, which was quickly dealt with.very impressed with the service. Would definitely book again
