Brilliant location right on the lakeside.

Lovely and comfortable and cosy. Extremely clean and welcoming. Thoughtful touches like leaving water in the kettle ready for a well needed brew! Dishwasher tablets left which was brilliant as we forgot some. Highly recommended. Would love to stay again.

We went for a quiet weekend to celebrate birthdays and the weather was very good to us, first time back to Fallbarrow in 50 years, we will be back very soon.

Shoreside Lodge was perfect on the lakeside.

Apart from no hot water for 1rst 24hrs our stay was excellent.

The location was amazing being next to the lake. The quality of furnishings were of a high standard and I would recommend staying here to my friends and family. The hot water issue was resolved as soon as possible so all in all a great holiday

Comfortable and spotless with a beautiful view. Only 3 mugs (just 2 of us, so not a problem) but otherwise well equipped. Great that there is now a handrail on the steps from the road.

What a super place to stay!

We had the best time. It was our first visit to the lakes and it did not disappoint. The lodge was clean and welcoming, and wow, what a fantastic location! The kids loved the access to the lake literally just outside, and the views from the sofa and decking were superb! It has everything we needed and even the beds and pillows were very comfortable. A short walk to shops and pubs… very convenient. We had a small issue with the window handle on arrival, it had fallen off in the en-suite, but it didn’t effect our stay, I just wanted to report it via the what’s app chat but was told to contact the owner, which I didn’t want to bother them with. Such a fantastic location and a wonderful stay despite storm Florin!! We are looking to book again!

Absolutely fab lodge from start to finish - the view from the patio to the lake is out of this world - the view is priceless.

Lodge was fully equipped having everything you need to make it a home from home. Only issue is the second bathroom be good if the soap tray was a bit lower. The lodge is situated on the edge of the lake and 100% as described. It is short 10 min walk into town where you have a great choice of quality restaurants and a great shopping centre. We love Fallbarrow Park and a lodge holiday - which is really like home from home but with a view but alternatively so near to a lot of other activities and places should you wish a more energetic holiday. Seriously did not want to leave - going to miss my 5 am coffee sat on the patio enjoying that view of the lake. All in all a great holiday - no complaints and a very lovely lodge. So much so got home last night and booked for a week in 2026 - same place same lodge - that speaks volumes. Well done Sykes for offering this accommodation. Two very happy holiday makers who returned home relaxed and chilled.

We loved our stay, The view was fantastic and the living room was big and comfortable.

I am very sensitive to perfumes and scents which was an issue on the first night because bedding had a scent but we aired it and kept the bedroom window open all day which made the second and third night better. It would be better if the bedding was unscented. Everything else was perfect and we loved that there was a chess board and streaming Netflix on the smart TV allowed us to catch up on Squid Game after it got dark outside.

I was a little apprehensive as a couple of reviews commented on a smell.

We found no issues at all. We loved the lodge a real home from home with the most stunning views to die for. We are aging guests and cannot wait to return.

The lodge was in a lovely position with great views over the lake.

Unfortunately the main bathroom smelt extremely damp and the main bedroom also smelt of damp. The overall cleanliness could do with some improvement as there were stains and marks on the bedding but the living room and kitchen were both clean.

We absolutely love Shoreside, this is our third visit now.

We had intended on not coming anymore, as with most of the Lake District, a lot of it has become far too expensive. We only came back here because we found a late deal for half the price. Its a shame with what has happened to the Lakes, far too many people there now with too much money and who have no intention of going for walks, it has ruined it for the general population

It's shame the experience we had as this is our 3rd time staying at this lodge but due to the following we won't be staying again: - The cleanliness was very poor.

There were stains on the carpet/ sofa. The sofa smell absolutely awful. A bad feet smell, felt very uncomfortable sitting on it. - The carpets had not been hoovered so I had to hoover the whole lodge the day we arrived - The bedrooms smelt of dirt and dust, particularly around the bedside tables where it's not been cleaned properly. - It's clean on a surface level but it really needs a deep clean - The fridge didn't work properly. Even on max setting the butter was soft when we pulled it out. Everything was not chilled so we were worried about the food we bought paticularly the meat/ milk. As I said its a shame as the view is stunning but for over £300 per night we expect the place to be clean and not smell. We won't be returning to this lodge next year.

Fantastic lodge for location, views, comfy, clean.

Would definitely return. One and small downside is my husband had to work on the odd occasion and the wifi wasn’t good at all. This would be a site problem I’d think.

What a beautiful view, don’t think there could be a better spot in the Lake District, and lodge was very comfortable and well kept

The stay was spoilt somewhat by the boiler not working on arrival Monday afternoon.

It was not fixed until 24 hours later. The temperature in the lodge was freezing and this was coupled with no hot water etc. The boiler then went again on Thursday but at least this time it was fixed within a few hours of it being reported

Our visit was good but was marred by the electricity cut caused by the toaster and it took over 4 hours for somebody to fix it which was an external breaker switch apparently, while we were cold trying to keep warm with blankets

This lodge is in a beautiful location over looking the lake, plenty of kitchen utensils, pans etc.

The bedrooms are quite small, but it is only 2 bedroom, unfortunately the main bedroom curtains had mould on them, this could be caused by the excessive wet weather they are currently experiencing. Our biggest dilemma where the stone steps, no hand rail on, and quite deep, and being disabled with disc trouble and with a walking stick, found them very difficult to get up and down, so that is a big no no for us, other than that to you haven’t go a disability then the lodge is perfect.

Lovely views of the Lake, Lodge was spotlessly clean, in a quiet position and ideal for what we wanted .

We would recommend and hope to stay again in the future. The site itself is ideally situated with Bowness only a short walk away.

The accommodation is exactly like the photos.

Superb location probably the best on the park for views as is right by the lake. The pub/restaurant and shop are a 5 minute walk from the lodge. This is a very clean and tidy lodge/park and has outstanding views. I would highly recommend this place! 10/10

Great location, cosy and warm.

Shame we didn't get to spend more time On the Deck

We had a great time for my 70th birthday.

The place was very comfortable and very clean it had everything we needed. The only thing we found difficult was the steps to go to lodge they didn't have a rail. It would be helpful for us older people otherwise it was perfect

Hi , we could not connect the TV to the internet so no Netflix etc, some instruction's may be possible ?

The outside furniture may need improvement as one of the rockers had a loose leg . On the the plus side, views fabulous ,a comfortable way to watch the wild life, spotlessly clean , very thing else we needed.

Great lodge in the best location right next to the lake.

Fabulous lodge and the Fabulous stay and couldn't get enough of the view.

A parasol would be a helpful addition as the sun made a welcome appearance.

Could not fault the Lodge at all, it has absolutely everything you would want in a self catering accommodation.

It was really clean and we felt comfortable as soon as we entered. The view from the lodge is like something on a landscape painting. Great break.

Had a lovely time staying in Shoreside Lodge.

Fallbarrow Park is situated in a superb location, within easy walking distance of Barrow-in-Furness town centre, and the lodge location was about as good as it gets with superb views over Lake Windermere. It was comfortable and clean, and parking was easily accessible and close by. Unfortunately the lodge is let down by the condition of appliances. The gas oven doesn't stay lit and the boiler has leaks which caused it to shut down due to low pressure on the last night of our stay. I've seen the oven issue mentioned in other reviews, so this isn't an isolated incident. Lake District Lodge Holidays refused any kind of refund because I didn't call in time for them to address the problems. I did call, but the office was closed. There is an emergency number, but we'd been out all day and just wanted to eat, not wait in for a maintenance person to turn up. We'd bought food to cook but had to throw that away and eat out instead. I just wanted recompense for the extra cost incurred, but they refused. So yeh, they got me on a technicality, which is just bad customer service and the difference between me booking with them again and not booking with them again, just for the sake of a few quid. Very poor service.

Cannot fault the lodge.

Access is via a few bankside steps (mentioned in the listing). As pensioners we would have found a handrail useful.

I would like to give our holiday ten stars and ten stars for our lodge the lodge was excellent and very cosy and the view and location was excellent,my only complaint won't be I wished we had booked for 2 weeks instead of one,we didn't want to leave,we will definitely be booking the same logged again for next year

No electricity in the lodge when we arrived and had to call the helpline provided who directed us to reception which was closed.

We found the Fallbarrow Park maintenance man who kindly helped us. The lodge was lovely and clean with stunning views over the lake although smaller than we expected. Kitchen layout difficult to work with eg pots and pans difficult to access, we had to go on our hands and knees to reach them deep into an awkward cupboard. Oven and grill very poor and we gave up trying to use which was a problem as we were there for 7 days so maybe they should be replaced? Beds were comfy and we slept well. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time in Fallbarrow Park.

Well furnished. I would definitely return. Negatives- Tall guests are advised to mind their head on the cooker hood, needs a few larger mugs and main bedroom smelled a bit dank.

Stayed six nights over the Christmas period, was happy to have a Christmas tree and garland a nice touch.

. Kitchen very well equipped enough of everything. Cooked full Christmas dinner and had everything I needed.. The lodge was clean and the heating was on when we arrived. Lovely views and perfect location.

I enjoyed my holiday break very much and I hope to come back again.

Was a stunning location, loved the interior esp the fireplace was really cozy.

The info pack and board games was a nice touch. The facilities of the park site as well as the views couldn't have been better. The only things I feel could be improved on was could have done with some air freshners as feel was a bit stale. The smaller second bedroom could be cleaned a bit more in depth. But I would strongly recommend that in the smaller room the bed next to the wall to have a new mattress, it was sinking a lot in the middle and you could start to feel the springs poking through - I do think this needs to be looked at as no matter how beautiful and lovely the place is when you don't have a good nights sleep it can affect you returning/ enjoying the place. If larger mugs were provided for tea/ coffee. The current mugs were tiny and would only really be half a mug of tea. (MASSIVE teas drinkers here) The facilities and equipment in the kitchen (bar the mugs) were excellent loved there was a decent fridge freezer. The dishes were beautiful! The location was so handy. To walk to Windermere town to explore was approx 2-3 mins. Am happy to say we have already re-booked and will be taking our kids along this time so really hoping the mattress is replaced for them. Can't wait for our next stay and possibly become our new yearly place to visit as we visit the Lakes once a year. I have already recommended this place to friends and I don't do that lightly. Hi great lodge we enjoyed our stay but the main shower in the main bathroom needs replacing as its constantly on hot on the mixer temp unable to turn the temp down.

We had to use the other shower in the ensuite instead. Also the oven is really slow to cook food and probably needs upgrading/replacing. Apart from that we had a great time and enjoyed the lodge and location.

Excellent Lodge !

! We very much enjoyed our stay at Shoreside Lodge at the end of September. It was very comfortable and cosy, everything was clean and well looked after. The outside seating was very good ( husband loved the rocker chairs ). Being so close to the waterside was amazing !! The onsite facilities at Fallbarrow are also excellent, The Willows Restaurant and Deli Cafe / Shop provide top quality food etc with friendly service. We will happily return to this lodge when possible

Beautiful location warm and comfy stay definitely would stay again

Location and view from Lodge cannot be beaten on Fallbarrow.

A couple of niggles were, cups were badly stained, I had to go and buy mugs for our use. Also railings and glass on decking and balcony needs a deep clean, and outside lights need cleaned as they were full of dead flies and covered with cobwebs.

Lodge is in a great location, with superb views over the Lake.

Comfortable lodge, but does require some upgrading in areas. Cleanliness of lodge itself was below standard and overpriced for what was provided.

Fabulous lodge in prime location overlooking the lake.

The lodge itself was clean, tidy and well maintained when we arrived. We has a slight smell of gas coming from the boiler within the first 24 hrs, however, when we called reception about this, action was very prompt and efficient. Harry from maintenance went above and beyond by first solving this problem, (small leak in feeder pipe) and then sweeping cobwebs from the decking and removing all the fallen leaves. Excellent service and lovely man.

The lights in the en-suite bathroom went off after about 20 seconds and couldn't get them to work.

The fridge doesn't seem to work properly and although appears to stay chilled, it didn't get cold. Some of the food was ruined, not a huge problem as we didn't have a lot as we were only there 3 days, but if you shopped for a week.... Great view from the decking. Need more chairs for outside as there is only 2 comfy chairs (that were excellent). There's a big decked area at the side where you could put a table and chairs?

I would like to thank the owner very much for putting himself out to bring the spare key to us.

Also to thank the reception and maintenance staff for their assistance. As we were not using main door, I want to let owner know I put down more mats on the floor & I brought my own covers for the settees to protect them too! (I always do this anyway as I like to respect other peoples property). I enjoyed staying at this lodge, it was ideal. I love people & bird watching as I am not very mobile. I am hopefully looking forward to going again to this lodge. Thank you again. Anita

Found the lodge a little tired .

Although the views are magnificent and the beds really comfy, the corner of one sofa needs restringing and the little things are below what we expected paying such a significant amount . For example the towels were grey and small , well worn , cheap loo paper and the glasses past their best . We have stayed at Fallbarrow on numerous occasions and thought by paying for a prestigious lodge we would experience a 5 star holiday but it was 3/4 at most .

Location absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful Views. Lovely clean lodge. Unfortunately we arrived Friday of the storm and lost power for the weekend so was just a bit chilly to say the least. The only criticism is there was no leaflets or paperwork to tell us what to do in this event of losing power. The email from Lake district lodge holidays had the wrong night watchman telephone number. We had no idea what was happening around us and couldnt go out because of the storm. But not for the storm it would have been idilic.

Great lodge in a perfect setting.

5 minute walk into the town for supplies or eating out with plenty of choice. However we preferred sitting on the deck in the evening with a beer and a simple salad supper. Highly recommended!

The lodge had the most amazing view and all of the home comforts that you would expect.

All in all a very enjoyable stay at Shoreside Lodge , clean, well stock, lovely and warm and in a great position, unfortunately it was let down by a strong smell of cigarette smoke on arrival which took a good full two days to clear using the extractor fan and opening all windows. Booking was easy. The welcome text message on the day of travel was great. The lodge was perfect well stocked clean, and with an amazing view. Will be booking again. Highly recommended. Pre-Christmas Break

Had a very enjoyable pre-Christmas break, with great views overlooking the lake. Short walk to either Bowness or Windermere, which provide fantastic restaurants and cafes, as well as all other essential shops. Plenty for the children to do in the area. Wonderful lodge amazing view

Lovely lodge well equipped in a fantastic area. This was our second visit in 6 months and we loved it just as much. Amazing place to stay!

The shoreside lodge is located in one of the best spots on the whole park. The park has plenty of amenities for people of all ages (my little boy loved the park and watching the ducks) The food in the restaurant on site was lovely and not too pricey, however if that's not for your taste you can be in the centre on Bowness within 5 minutes. Another fantastic stay at Shoreside Lodge

We have just returned from our second stay in Shoreside Lodge at Fallbarrow Park in Bowness and we had another fantastic stay. The lodge could not be better sited, right on the lakeside by the jetties. To be woken every morning by the ducks and geese was great. The lodge was very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom and showers very good. Fallbarrow is very handy for Bowness with it's good assortment of pubs, bars and restaurants, and all within easy walking distance. There is a bar on site but we didn't use it as we preferred to go for a walk so cannot comment on that. We enjoyed it so much that we are returning for our third visit to Shoreside this year in October. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Fantastic Week at Shoreside Lodge

We had a fantastic week in the Shoreside Lodge. The lodge is well equipped and in a fantastic location with views down Lake Windemere towards Ambleside. The Holiday Park is in a great location 5 minutes walk into Bowness Centre. We will certainly be back again it was a very relaxing week and the Lodge exceeded our expectations. Amazing Location

We stayed at Shoreside Lodge for 4 nights, the lodge was very clean,comfortable and well presented. The View from the windows is amazing and the location of the lodge is perfect with Lakeside views and a short stroll into Bowness. Another stay at Shoreside

Just returned from our third visit this year to Shoreside Lodge at Fallbarrow Park . We did spring, summer and autumn. All three seasons are superb at the lodge . It is so clean and well appointed it's like a home from home ( wish we had the views at home ). Being within easy walking distance of Bowness is also a big plus. Have a drink with no need to drive. Bonus. Great restaurants and pubs available also. Overall a fantastic stay and looking forward to the next one. As we are both retired we prefer the weekly breaks as opposed to the weekends when Bowness can be very busy. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The comfort of the lodge and the view. Lovely autumn holiday

Lovely property with view of the lake from the living room. Car parking is in front next to the lake and the chalet is elevated from the road in front, so passers by can't look in and the view from the living room is uninterrupted. Well equipped kitchen (which includes not only a dishwasher, but also a washing machine) although spare storage space for your own food is somewhat limited. The owners have gone to great length to provide comfortable sofas, lighting and extras such as little toileteries and books about the area. The beds are on the small side (narrow singles and the double is 4'6"). The park was quiet out of season and we had a lovely time. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Log Cabin on the Lake

We arrived early, so sat in the clubhouse and enjoyed a good wine. The check in process was smooth & we arrived at our cabin which was situated directly on the lakefront with a fantastic view over the Lake & valley. The kids fed the ducks, geese & swans everyday as you can buy the seeds from the shop on sight. The little shop is well equipped with all you may need/have forgotten. The cabins themselves are lovely, clean and well equipped. Bedrooms are minimal space as you'd expect in a caravan, but they are comfortable. Towels & linen was clean. I'm not an early riser, but here I was up every day to sit and watch sunrise over the beautiful lake Windermere. You can lose hours watching the light play on the mountain surrounding. We used the clubhouse which serves lovely food, and all this is just a 5 minute walk from the town where you can catch the boat everywhere. We hardly used the car, which meant we were able to make use of the numerous cozy pubs as we chose. I would highly recommended & certainly return. Thank you cabin-owners. Lovely lodge with amazing views.

It was dark when we arrived and the lodge looked beautiful with its Christmas lights. Although we knew it had a view of the lake it wasn't until the next day that we saw how amazing the view is. The location is perfect and only a short walk into Bowness to the characterful Hole in the Wall pub for lunch. The lodge was lovely and warm and well looked after. We visited the Choices Health Club pool which was only a short drive away and we almost had the place to ourselves. We will definitely be back. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Had a FANTASTIC time for our Birthday wkend. Location was the BEST lodge was fantastic but they always are when you book through Lake District Lodge Holidays. A little taste of happiness

Super lodge overlooking the lake with views to die for. Peace and tranquility harmonies the location and yet the lake is alive with activity. Boats and cruisers visible from the lounge enhance the lake giving the feel of leisure itself, just awesome. Lodge reflects all of this also being in an excellent location. We took our twin grandsons with us on our break, they were captivated by the freedom and excited by the beautiful ducks, gulls and swans within arms reach. outside steps were accessible for three year olds obviously with care. They loved their first twin beds room, and can't wait to go back to 'my house' as they call the lodge....... Didn't want to leave! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Amazing

We had two lodges on Fallbarrow over May bank holiday weekend as an extended family. The stand out difference between the two is the stunning position which affords a view over lake Windermere. Just wow. The ever changing scenery was captivating from morning until night. The lodge itself was great, had everything we needed for a long weekend. On arrival it was very clean and this is appreciated. Slightly compact, but for a family of 4 this wasn't a problem. It felt very safe for my son to cycle out in front of the lodge, affording him some independence. Short walk to the main Fallbarrow amenities and could do a really nice loop round the park taking in the sights of Bowness from a distance. We would love to return one day soon! Shoreside lodge, fallbarrow holiday park

Arrived at Fallbarrow Holiday park and staff were friendly and helpful, giving keys and directions to our lodge. On arrival the lodge was clean and tidy, the view of lake Windermere was totally stunning (and the reason we picked it) So we weren't disappointed! The owners have thought of everything so the lodge is a real home from home! The holiday park is well maintained with a beautiful backdrop, there is a little shop/cafe, The Boathouse bar/restaurant that serves a good range of drinks and food and your just a few mins walk into Bowness Bay where there are shops and where you can catch a boat to do the lake cruises (all are highly recommended!) Lodge at your leisure

We have stayed here before and have booked again for next year. We wouldn't be happy leaving Shoreside without a future stay planned. We take our twin grandsons with us who are aged three, They cannot contain their excitement when they arrive, so much for them to do and get involved with. What did you enjoy most about your stay? "Gem" of a location and accommodation for your stay in the Lakes

What a great find regards the location of the lodge, situated in a very picturesque setting "In a front line! location with relation to lake Windermere" . Very easy walking distance to the center of Bowness where there are a plentiful supply of restaurants and pubs to suit all pockets! Plus Fallbarrow is an ideal location to use as a base for venturing further afield into the Lake District area for days out What did you enjoy most about your stay? Great short break

Stayed at Fallbarrow a few times now and it never disappoints. Shoreside Lodge is a beautiful compact lodge, perfect for our party of 3 for 4 nights. Main bedroom is a bit of a squeeze with no wardrobe space but not a problem for a short break and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? January Break

Brilliant little lodge, perfect location with a beautiful view. The lodge has everything you need, comfortable beds, and was very clean. Walking distance to Bowness. We visited Beatrix Potter World and drove to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis in Milnthorpe, I would recommend both. We had a lovely meal at the Angel Inn in Bowness, food was great! Beautiful lodge with amazing views

Having stayed at Fallbarrow many times this was our first visit to Shoreside Lodge. We weren't disappointed. The views are amazing & as you are up higher the lodge is very private. The lodge is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. (One sofa a lot more comfortable than the other bizarrely although identical) Couldn't get wifi reception at all. Only in the clubhouse. Look forward to returning here in October. 2 parking spaces which was great for us. Love Fallbarrow and the fact you can walk into Bowness. What did you enjoy most about your stay? That view !!! Long weekend in the lakes with friends

We all had a lovely break at the lodge, the location was fantastic as such a short walk to Bowness centre and the harbour area. The views from the cabin exceeded our expectations and was lovely to enjoy the views on the balcony. The cabin itself was more than big enough for the 4 adults to stay, very comfortable lounge area and the kitchen has everything you could need. Shore Side Lodge Stay

We stayed in this lodge from 7/8/20, we could not of asked for a better location, right on the lake, beautiful for just sitting on the veranda for hours on end, we were very lucky with the weather which was a bonus. The lodge itself is lovely, was very clean, would definitely recommend it to be anybody who was looking to book. A very good location.

It would be helpful if the code to access the barrier at the entrance was included in the welcome text, we arrived at 18:35, rang the number on the text (which stated the office was open 9am to 9pm.) the automated reply stated that the office closed at 5pm. We tried the reception on-site, also closed, as the arrival time is currently after 16:00 it may be useful to have staff available until a reasonable time, we eventually got the code from a member of bar staff within the clubhouse. The property is located within a holiday park complex, although it is not a problem as the site is relatively quiet. Location of lodge is great, overlooking Lake Windermere. The Lodge is a few years old and in good condition, there was a slight smell of damp in the main bedroom, (this is the wettest part of England), this i believe is down to the debris, leaf litter and dead wood accumulating behind the lodge, the groundsman on the site also used the area to dispose of the grass cuttings from his mower. There were a few items that require attention, faulty bedside lamp in small bedroom that tripped out the electrics for the lodge, shower door in en-suite was off the bottom rail, there was toothpaste smear on the wall and towel rail in the same en-suite, leaves and small twigs are blocking the rainwater gutters, causing water to cascade over and down the patio doors, the addition of a leaf guard to the gutters may stop this. Bowness-on-Windermere is a pretty location, plenty of activities and attractions, lots of pubs, restaurants, shops and takeaways. Great location to explore the lakes and hills.This lodge is in an ideal location with just a small amount of attention lacking, which is what will remain in our memory. Walk to the top of Brant Fell view point, a short but tricky walk from Bowness, the views are fantastic.

View from the lodge

We had an excellent stay at Shoreside Lodge. The view from the lodge is spectacular and you could spend all day just watching the world go by if you wish. Compact

Fabulous location. Disappointment on arrival as exterior looked unkempt. On entering, the lodge looked clean but on closer inspection the kitchen was grubby. The hob was greasy and the utensil jar was dirty. Not enough storage in the kitchen and the bin was awkward to use, having to open two cupboard doors each time. Downlight which was situated over a dark area that housed the kettle and toaster, didn't work. Main bedroom, small and dark, but it is located at the back of the lodge whereby not a lot of light comes through. Twin bedroom ok and this had the better wardrobe space. Good hot water and heating.
