Lovely large lodge in a beautiful spot.

The view of the lake was amazing

We all had a great family weekend.

The lodge was a good size and well equipped. The grandchildren and the dog loved the lake. The view from the decking was beautiful. We hope to come back soon.

loved it can't wait to return later this year or next year would recommend to anyone going i would stay longer next time 4 days wasn't enough

We have stayed at South Lakes Leisure many times before, but this Lodge was the best one we have stayed in by far.

Clean, everything worked and just a nice lodge to be in.

After a long weekend stay in 2025 we decided to return for a full week so knew what we were getting.

A comfortable clean well equipped property perfect for just sitting and relaxing or as a base for exploring the surrounding area. Made use of the bar this time and the wife had a massage in the spa as well both recommended.

Beautiful lodge on an amazing site!

It was lovely to open the curtains first thing in the morning and see the lake view. Home from home comforts and would definitely revisit. Just a couple of minor things to point out on cleanliness (chocolate smeared on the edge of the leather suite and dead flies in the bathroom blind when we pulled it down). We booked a last minute new year break to get away for a few days to start the year off, this lodge is fabulous, its extremely modern with touch control heating and lighting extremely spacious and exceptionally well equipped.

I was a little confused with the description as it says 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 people yet to our pleasant surprise it was 4 bedrooms that could sleep upto 8. The lodge is beautifully placed right infront of the lake and got the beautiful winter sun all day. Once we'd text our contact number we were able to locate the file that has all the instructions in that we needed on how things worked, WiFi codes passwords etc. The site is a beautifully kept site with a fabulous bar/restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff. My only gripe was the cost of using the facilities as we were private renters and not booked through the site, £12 for swimming is extortionate We had a fabulous stay and would definitely stay here again. This was our second visit to this beautiful lodge and will definitely be returning.

it's on my favourite list. Very spacious, comfortable, well equipped clean lodge, lovely beds, good showers and a fantastic view. Lots of supplies from tea and coffee to cling film and foil. Owner really takes notice of reviews and takes action, mattress toppers, new sofa, new microwave and lots of equipment. My only suggestions are, Bath mats are needed, we used the hand towels for floor and that only left us with 4 towels for a week, maybe keep a few spare in dressing room. Maybe put a basket in wardrobe or small set of drawers in 2nd bedroom for underwear. A few bulb's need replacing in main lights. Fantastic lodge, loved it.

We were on a family get together for my wife’s birthday, couldn’t have picked better accommodation.

Perfect for us including my daughter’s dog. Facilities were spot on, and having the two bathrooms was a bonus. Only drawback was that it was raining most of the time we were there so couldn’t use the decking but what a view to wake up to . Nice flat walks round the lake and the pub on site allows dogs. Good breakfast but a little pricey could be improved with some of the items doubled up. But in general great pub and very accommodating staff . We’ll definitely be back but a bit earlier in the summer season.

Sorry but the Lodge was not clean on arrival inside under bed broken glass also needed a good clean in all areas outside needed a good clean microwave was not working restaurant was closed Sunday evening till Wednesday when you restaurant on site no warning it closed on them days swimming was far to dear at £10a day no play area for children eg swings or sides could have a small shop on site for milk bread papers very long walk to the bins no litter bins around the site for what we paid was not happy at all x

We all enjoyed our stay at Capenwray 4, three generations.

The lodge itself was just what we were looking for and the site had some wonderful facilities especially for the grandchildren. The location of the site was within a reasonable distance of Windermere with various entertainment facilities in between. We hope to be back later in the year for a long weekend. Thank you.

Fantastic lodge - clean, spacious, well equipped.

Great position on the lake. Restaurant on site excellent. Easy check in / out. Highly recommended.

It was a lovely 3 day break and we loved feeding the ducks, it was very clean and tidy.

The only thing that spoilt it was the staff at the restaurant and they don't know anything about the 10% off if we mentioned your name. Thanks again Peter

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Capenwray 4 and we can’t wait to come back.

The lodge is modern & clean, perfectly situated with a lake view. Myself, my husband and our five year old love it. Highly recommend x

We enjoyed our stay but had the following observations - Grouting en suite shower needed renewing - Rattan table outside was badly broken under glass - The lights flickered in ensuite bedroom - The 3 seater leather settee seemed very tired like the springs were going - Advised to put used crockery in dishwasher on last night but no instructions on how to use dishwasher - had to YouTube various videos - it was very flustrating that Netflix wouldn’t work as another user watching a program so it’s clearly on a joint account and not exclusive to the lodge - therefore probably better to remove it as what you’ve not got you don’t miss

We absolutely loved our stay over New Year at Capenwray 4.

The lodge is beautifully decorated, the owner has thought of everything including a small pantry of things in case we forgot ourselves. Our dog was in his element with the basics provided for him too. Honestly the best stay we've had and we've stayed at a few on this site now. Our five year old absolutely loved the bird seed and the boardgames in the cupboard. Capenwray is definitely our favourite and we booked for another visit before we had even checked out of our current stay! Roll on May for our next stay xxx

Excellent short break.

the property was first class and fit in with our needs. We will defiantly be booking a longer stay in the near future.

We had a lovely four night break at this lodge.

The lodge is situated right on the lake and is very comfortable and relaxing, would definitely return.

Extremely lucky with weather. Unfortunately main TV could not get signal for Freeview was disappointing annoying. Lodge missing a pair of scissors. This is my second stay .Enjoy feeding ducks and swans. and taking dog for many many lovely walks.

It was amazing.

I highly recommend for people with big families. The property was super well maintained.

No hot water all week.

Parts on order didn't arrive our week. Apart from the water we love the Lodge it's facilities and location. The Bar and restaurant hours are erratic and not displayed for visits to read. There is a timetable but this is for staff and no good for visitors.

Such a lovely quiet place to stay.

Mattresses could do with new ones as quite uncomfortable and twix rappers and hair bands down the cushion side of sofa that came out as sat down. For some reason the hot water started hot then went cold. We had to boil a kettle to wash the pots and have freezing cold showers which was not nice. I would expect a partial refund for the lack of hot water. Other than that it was nice place to stay.

Absolutely excellent property.

Only recommendation would be some hanging space in the twin bedroom and possibly a mirror in that room. I would definitely recommend this property and hopefully I will return before too long.

We have now stayed at South Lakeland Leisure on 3 occasions & booked directly through Sykes each time.

When we arrived a Capenwray we were instantly faced with a very pleasant smell when we entered the lodge. The cleanliness & finishing touches were excellent and the owners very helpful with any questions that we had. There was everything at hand and more inside and also the outside of the lodge & the size of the lodge was amazing, with the view across the lake was stunning also. We would have no hesitation in returning to this beautiful lodge in the future or recommending to friends and family. Really enjoyed our stay.
