Duckling Lodge

Overall ok we arrived early as we had a pet it was very hot and was made feel uncomfortable because we was early .

No hot water for 1 day but was rectified. The hot tub only opens half way we was expecting a full use of the whole tub . The table by the hot tub quite unsafe also needs a brolly and a couple of deck chairs for comfort no instructions for the tv it was hard to find out how to work it . The rubbish bins are far away to take on the car makes it stink . He needs a deep clean shower and dirty walls we have clean the place before we left to the best we could also needs the number of the lodge on it took us a bit to find the right one .

On arrival all looked good but unfortunately we soon found that was not the case.

Problem with boiler it kept going off which meant no hot water, so had to keep resetting it. There were no instructions booklets for any of the kitchen appliances. My partner rehung the curtains in the lounge as they were not hung properly and also fixed the blind in the twin room as they didn’t close. I completely cleaned the hoover out and washed the filter as it absolutely stunk of dog. Only used the hot tub twice for 10mins as it is set at 41.5 degrees which is way to hot. Beds and couches were very uncomfortable. The lodge was very hot and uncomfortable due to the heatwave and would benefit from a fan or 2. Could not get and channels on the tv in the bedroom. ACTION NEEDED Decking post opposite the drain pipe is loose and coming away also the 4th slat down from that post is rotten and has 2 exposed rusty screws which are very dangerous. Would we stay here again no

The lodge was clean inside and well equipped, The interiors could have done with some tlc like fixing paint work and the curtains in main windows were hanging off in places.

The outside space really lets it down as the decking could have done with a good clean, and to be treated. The outdoor furniture didn’t match and the chairs were held together with cable ties. The hot tub is very old and there was nowhere to put the hot tub top so we were unable to open it fully. We paid a lot of money for this and ended up only staying 3 nights instead of 5. I would hope to be refunded for some of this holiday as it wasn’t up to scratch and the pictures that we looked at before we booked do not represent what it really looks like, so they must have been taken a number of years ago. We have stayed in a number of lodges for the same costs and not had the need to complain.

Feedback regarding our recent stay at Duckling Lodge I am writing to share feedback regarding our recent stay at the lodge we found through the Sykes Cottages website.

While the property initially made a lovely impression, several significant issues impacted our experience, which I would like to bring to your attention. Arrival and Accessibility Our arrival was quite stressful, as we were not informed that reception would be unstaffed after 5:00pm. We spent 30 minutes driving around the grounds because, unlike neighbouring properties, our lodge had no visible name or number. This was made more difficult by having two excited dogs in the car. Once located, the security lockbox was so old and stiff that it took 15 minutes of effort to open and only did so after my daughter broke a nail. This definitely requires maintenance or replacement. Cleanliness and Maintenance While the lodge appeared clean on the surface, and we very much appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift of wine and biscuits, we discovered several issues upon closer inspection: Housekeeping: When moving a sofa, we found hairballs and lost items underneath. The bedrooms also had significant cobwebs hanging from the ceilings. Furthermore, the vacuum cleaner provided was jam‑packed with pet hair and emitted a dreadful odour. It was not a pleasant job emptying it to make it usable. Privacy and light: The blinds in the twin bedroom were broken with large gaps, and since there are no curtains, privacy was non‑existent. The early morning light also made sleeping difficult. Kitchen: The kitchen was well equipped, although a pair of scissors was a missing essential. Hot Tub and Maintenance Visit The most disappointing aspect was the hot tub, which remained unusable throughout our stay, despite being advertised and available at an additional cost. On opening it, the water level was very low, there was visible scum on the surface, and the chemical smell was so overpowering that it made our eyes sting and water. I have my own hot tub and checked the dispenser, only to find it packed with chlorine tablets that had not dissolved. There were no test strips or digital kit provided to check sanitiser or pH levels. We never entered the hot tub because of this. Mid‑week, a maintenance worker entered the balcony area without knocking or alerting us. As I was in my pyjamas, this was a significant intrusion of privacy. Although he added a small amount of water, the tub remained in a condition we felt was unsafe and unpleasant to use due to the strong smell of sterilising agents. Information and Facilities The welcome book is desperately in need of updating. It contained no instructions for the oven, dishwasher, or washer/dryer, nor did it state where to dispose of refuse. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary guesswork during our holiday. On a positive note, the bathrooms were very clean and had bath mats, soap dispensers, toilet rolls, and one hand towel and bath towel each. The inclusion of a washer/dryer in the kitchen was very helpful, although a usage booklet would have been handy. We enjoyed the potential of the lodge, but feel these points — particularly regarding the hot tub and privacy — fell short of the professional standard expected.

The only problem is that on arrival you have to park and find the property to get the key fob for the barriers.

The lodge is perfect for small holiday.

We been for 3 nights, kids love the hot tube, the place got lovely swimming pool and gym. It's very quiet place and lots place to walk. The kitchen got everything you need, Just need to check the pillows, and the kids bed. Bed is comfortable, and warm. Good place for little holiday.

Beautiful, we had an amazing stay Lodge just perfect and well equipped Fresh & clean Hot tub was a great addition Restaurant really lovely food & service Gas run out, rang reception & the maintenance man came straight away Disappointed we couldn’t access the gym and pool as it was closed - just one of those things Lancaster & Morecambe nearby ❤️ Would definitely book again

Sofas and bed not comfortable.

The bottom of the oven rusty. Toilet seats move when using the toilet. No steps for the hot tub. No torch in boiler cupboard although it says there is. Tried to contact the owners via WhatsApp but didn't get a response. Obviously everyone carries steps around for a hot tub even though they don't have one. I also asked at reception and they said it would be a health and safety issue. I don't know how the owners expect guests to get in and out of the hot tub without the steps. Will not be returning. Booked because of hot tub but couldn't use it. No water on Sunday evening.

Lovely site, very quiet and everyone friendly.

I looked at the reviews and even sent an email regarding some issues with the property (reviews) to make sure they were rectified before we stayed. I had no reply. Fan on oven doesn’t work (took double time to cook) Washing machine-error code kept coming up. Took clothes out and they were COVERED in dog hair (someone thought to wash their dog’s bedding?). Had no water in the kitchen in the mornings because of frozen pipes, thawed during the day. Knob on curtain rail fell off and banged me on the head whilst I was sat watching tv. Few chipped glasses also only one plastic one Tin opener don’t work No scissors Tired utensils

Couldn’t really fault the property.

Upon arrival it was clean and as described on the advert. Was a nice touch having a bottle of Prosecco and other essential items waiting for us. There was a couple of issues we had come across during our stay. The oven fan seems to not work. Which isn’t helpful if you do require to use the oven to cook. The decking area was a little tired and run down. There was one panel near the hot tub which was broken which isn’t ideal if you have smaller dogs that could escape through it. The outdoor furniture looked tired and broken in places. Luckily we didn’t need to use this. But in the summer I would imagine guests would like to use those facilities. We arrived late whilst it was dark and the area was pitch black with no lighting. It would have been helpful if an outside light was left on or a solar powered light was there to make it easier to find the key code box. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay and was fit for our purpose. Facilities on site looked nice. Receptionist didn’t seem very helpful. And the meal times in the on sight restaurant were questionable. You couldn’t have an evening meal there on a Sunday as they stop serving at 4. Also there is no where near by that you could visit without a drive.

We had a lovely Christmas holiday.

Perfect location lots of great walks for the dog. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and a lovely gift left for us, didn’t expect that so it was a really nice surprise. The on site Restaurant and pub was very welcoming and dog friendly which was great. I would definitely love le to return to the lodge Thankyou for a great place to stay ❤️ x

Beautiful lodge, very clean and well equipped.

Hot tub was fantastic and the swimming pool was well worth paying to use. Ideally located for exploring South Cumbria and Morecambe Bay, just wished we'd been able to stay for more than 4 nights. The only slight issue we had was that, despite being electric, the oven was not great. It didn't seem to reach temperature and the heat was uneven. Fortunately we had a meal that this didn't affect but I decided not to risk cooking the chicken I'd bought for the next day. Otherwise absolutely no issues and highly recommended. Hopefully we'll be able to go back in future and enjoy another stay.

The lodge was lovely.

Everything you needed was in there. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch and we were grateful for the milk. Dishwasher and washer/dryer was a welcome surprise. Didn't have the weather on our side but still managed to get in the hot tub, which was great. Will definitely be booking again. We were a family of 2 adults and one teenage boy and a cockerpoo.

The furniture was tired and could do with replacing, sofa very uncomfortable.

The dishwasher was broken and that was reported straight away with no come back from the owner. Lack of plates and glasses, the property sleeps 4 but there was only one wine glass, one Prosecco glass and the plates were mismatched. Shame as we have stayed on this site lots but this wasn’t the best accommodation we’ve stayed at.

We had an enjoyable stay, however just a few niggles, the fan on the oven does not work, the tv in the bedroom does not work, no mop and bucket, we had to clean the floor on hands and knees, outdoor furniture could do with replacing as the sofa was broken, and definitely needs a parasol as the weather was hot and sunny but we had no shade.

we ended up sitting under a golf umbrella. The shower head was tied up with an elastic band.... which snapped !,just trivial things which do need addressing. We would stay again if the said items were fixed.

Everything about the lodge was fantastic, very clean and well maintained.

My only complaint would be with pure leisure for allowing the fishing ponds to degrade, such a shame as I have fished there before and had amazing experiences.

Really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, Malva who came to service the hot tub was very friendly, pleasant and checked we were happy with everything, great service !

We had a great stay at Duckling Lodge.

The lodge was clean on arrival and we did not have any issues The male receptionist was very helpful when checking in. We all enjoyed the hot tub after a day out. We visited Old School Brewery (a quirky place that does excellent food and drink) that is a 2 minute drive a way. We would stay here again. Thank you.

Clean and comfortable.

On arrival lodge looked nice, I was looking forward to a soak in the bath, however there was no plug, not a great start!

. I had to go out & purchase a plug( left for the next person). Fan oven, the fan doesn't work so things take ages to cook also no oven proof dishes or trays to use. Blind in bedroom no rod for opening. Television in bedroom wouldn't work just came up with no signal. Finally on checking the mattress in main bedroom it is heavily stained and not nice needs replacing. The site was nice, hot tub did get over hot sometimes & we had to wait for temp to go down. Wine & biscuits was a nice touch, but would of preferred a plug for bath.

Just returned from 3 nights in this wonderful lodge we did not want to leave!

The lodge had everything you need and more! The little touches of wine, biscuits, tea, coffee etc were lovely! Our cleaner was lovely ( so sorry I didn’t get your name) she was so friendly and did a wonderful job. We will most definitely be booking again. Thank you to the owner too, I did want to leave a note for you but didn’t have a notepad, your lodge is perfect we enjoyed every minute.

Great lodge, and great location.

Very clean. Upon arriving I arrived at reception, asking for directions to the lodge - the man at the desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. He said as it has been booked through a third party he cant help with any questions. I also asked for a map which he said there isnt one apart from the big one on the side of the reception building. We also tried using the oven on one night but could not get it to work! I think the fan may be broken.

Pros- loving touch wine and biscuits, hot tub amazing , very peaceful, great for dogs being fenced in, lots of space between lodges , great location to visit other places I.

e Morecambe great having 2 bathrooms . Cons- fan assistant oven didn’t work making cooking times so long, didn’t leave bin liners , needed more oven proof dishes ( had to go to Tesco and buy one), measuring jug, maybe even a cloths horse also mark the switches on the wall as turned off and after an hour opened the fridge door and thought it wasn’t working, then I pushed all the switches and it came back on , little hover great, but wasn’t empty on our arrival, the mop was so dirty , and under furniture was dirty ( found an old dog treat— and not ours ). And one more thing , need a hook to hold open the patio door as when the wind got up, it shut with a force which could harm someone especially a child . Would I return Definitely yes , thanks

This is a lovely lodge and we really enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately we did have a few problems with the hot tub but the owner Jacqueline was very helpful and did all she could. Think it may be a slight problem for some on arrival having to walk to the lodge from reception to collect the keys in order to be able to lift the barrier but wasn't a problem for us and it was a lovely sunny day. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend

I really enjoyed the stay.

We had an amazing time. Nice and chilled and the property was perfect for us.

I have stay in this lodge 3 times now everything you need nice and clean, not a complaint but the only thing I would say sofa not comfortable but not put me off as we going back in May.

Had trouble sorting out the heating had to go on line as no instructions left also no hot water, the hot tub was not on either not happy about queries about how many where staying as my mother called in, obviously the owner was watching us , apart from that the lodge was nice

Duckling Lodge was like home from home, with the lovely benefit of a beautifully maintained hot tub!

The lodge was immaculately clean on arrival and had everything we needed and more. It was a perfect base for our wonderful holiday, exploringa beautiful part of the world. Apart from one evening when the WiFi was a little unreliable, everything else was perfect and the lodge fully deserves a five star rating. Thank you for a lovely late summer/early autumn break. We really hope to return at some point in the future.

Tried to contact people on the emergency number No one has got back to us as yet On the first night we went to get into the hot tub which was 41.

5 degrees ! We lasted about 5mins in that as it was too hot The next morning the tub was 42.3 degrees - I could just about get my foot in it - but nothing else When we returned from brockholes we found the hot tub had shut itself down as it was too hot We contacted the only available number as reception was closed or unmanned - also given how unhelpful they had been up to this point because we were a private letting ? We were not expecting any help from them. There was no reply from the ‘emergency’ number and still has not been a reply from the emergency number. The site had already barred me from taking my van and leaving it on our drive as they claimed it was a commercial vehicle. There were plenty of other commercial vehicles allowed on site - I even took a picture of one next door - so I can only assume it’s because we were renting privately Would not recommend to anyone Tbph and I can honestly say I have never ever said that before of a break.

Duckling Cottage was lovely.

We enjoyed Our time there and would definitely stay again .

The lodge is lovely and better than expected (I’d recommend you to update the photos online as the new sofas and new tv look great!

) The cleanliness could have been better as there was a lot of broken glass near and under one of the sofas when we first arrived. We hoovered it to find the hoover was full to the brim and needed emptying before using. Everytime we hoovered which was daily, the lodge ending up stinking of dog (im guessing from what was inside and left in the hoover!) I contacted the owner and Sykes to say we were having an issue with the washing machine as it had locked after a cycle meaning our clothes were stuck inside, but I had no response from either in the 4 days we were there. We managed to unlock it by turning it off at the mains. The lodge is lovely, and the hot tub was perfect and remained hot all the time. 30-40minute drive to Windermere which was perfect. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Couches need replacing , there was no plug for bath.

blinds rod was broken / missing, can opener broken, door on dishwasher unable to open fully., there was a broken fence panel outside near the hose pipe. Enjoyed our stay in the lodge despite minor problems mentioned above , would return if these were rectified. however the site is a lovely site and Mickey the dog enjoyed himself. we had a lovely relaxing time at duckling lodge for 5 days, perfect for visiting different places.

The only thing i would advise is that would be helpful is a handrail in main bathroom to help steady for getting in and out of shower, even though there are mats, found it a bit difficult getting in and out for shower. the on suite shower is a bit small for the larger person and no where to put toiletries also the shower head keeps sliding down, needs attention, but we over all had a peaceful time, thank you.

Arrived at Duckling Lodge Friday 17th May with my mum and my two small dogs .

The Lodge was absolutely Beautiful very clean and well equipped . We even had a bottle of wine and biscuits left for us . The grounds and lakes are lovely . The dogs enjoyed their walks around the site . The restaurant served very good food and is dog friendly . You do need to book in advance . Overall what a brilliant weekend we both have had . Really enjoyed our stay . Thank you Duckling Lodge for a great weekend . Enjoyed it that much I have booked again .

WiFi not showing up for us to connect.

Could see WiFi for lodges all around but for lodge 5. Later it showed up but poor connection then disappeared. If WiFi is essential for you this is not good for you- like my sister she is from abroad with phone on data roaming so she was disappointed all night she got no WiFi in the lodge. Another issue we had is when I tried to run a bath I couldn’t find anywhere the bath plug. Very strange indeed. Main bedroom is comfortable enough. Small bed really small. Hot tub is the best part. Nice surroundings in the village but lodge next to lodges quite close. In general I would say ok but not strong recommendation

The lodge was amazing for us for our short break.

It was a perfect reset, the lodge was clean, comfortable, warm and had everything that we needed including WiFi which was great for the kids. The welcome wine and biscuits was an also a nice surprise! The park is quiet and calming, if you’re going expecting Haven then you’ll be disappointed but for us, we needed quiet and calm and it was stunning. The lake is beautiful to walk around, especially with a dog, and the whole park is so clean and well kept. It’s the sort of place I’d like to retire too. The pub was lovely and the food was great. The service was also exceptional. For us, only two improvements that we could see, the first is for the park, it needs a small shop for essentials. The second is so tiny but the remote in the bedroom doesn’t work, like I said, so minor but, for some it may be an issue. In short, we loved it, perfect location and an amazing gem of a lodge that we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

No steps to hot tub found it difficult to get into the tub.

The lodge was great, warm, comfortable, clean and with everything we needed for a short break.

Although not mentioned, there is a TV in the bedroom. Unfortunately there is no signal and the remote control is faulty (right arrow button not working) so it is not possible to connect to the internet. We did report this to Reception but the problem was not resolved while we were there (4 days). This did not detract from our enjoyment and the hot tub was amazing, we were lucky to have 3 nights with great star gazing. Would certainly recommend Duckling Lodge.

Very nice lodge considering it was a pet friendly.

Being left wine and nibbles was very nice. Also dog bowls etc made us feel dog was welcome. Hot tub nice and hot. Nice quiet site,very clean. Was nice to have washing machine and dishwasher,although we didnt use either. Only complaints are that as we arrived in dark, the site is poorly lit and lodges not very well lit so finding our lodge was difficult to find.also registering / booking fee is very high. will be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at duckling lodge, great location with only a short drive to the nearest town.

The site was nice, very clean and looked after. We really loved the welcome goodies that were left and felt they were a really nice touch! Lovely size lodge with good size bedrooms and beds. The hot tub was great and was easy to use. We had a lot of rain whilst there which cannot be helped, but it didn’t dampen our experience. There are also lots of great walks nearby for all the family. My only suggestion I would make is that the gate lock is fixed. After reading ahead from reviews I took a bungee cord to secure the gate so that our dog couldn’t get out if she was on the decking area. Other than this we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going for a nice getaway! Thanks so much for our stay in Duckling lodge!

messaged the owner 4 times and aswell as sky cottages hot tub dint work the whole time we was they, the decking gate bodged with screw so just slamming against post all night disappointing as kids was looking forward to the hot tub

Simply a great little place!

All the home comforts. Good addition with hot tub, site nice and quiet. Facilities within are expensive but that is separate to this little gem of a place.

Really bad weekend for weather but not spoiled by Duckling Lodge.

Very warm,plenty of hot water.Beds so comfy.The hot tub was great.Had a slight problem with electrics,which was sorted within the hour.A great place for relaxing.Bit of a pain picking key up.Could it perhaps be left at reception instead of having to find lodge first.Definitely a good place for a restful break.

Such a lovely lodge, kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable and shower pressure/heat really good!

Was surprised on arrival to see different flooring and sofas than on the listing but it was a nice surprise. Hot tub a nice feature although the lid is really heavy. Had issue with electrics tripping, no info in the information book of what to do or who to contact, ended up contacting Sykes but by the time they replied we got them working again. Some of information in there is out of date (IE recommended place to eat closed, site map written on) but nothing Google major that a Google search couldn't help with. Would stay again and recommend to anyone if you want a quiet break and a home from home feel.

A lovely clean holuday home A thoughful welcome basket.

A few of the blinds did not work properly (broken) . The gate latch, the screws kept working loose and the lock could fall off so having our dogs with us we had to keep checking the screws were fixed in. The site is lovely and central to where we wanted to visit. I would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thankyou.

We were absolutely thrilled with Ducklands Lodge and we will certainly be going back to stay next year.

The quality, comfort, space....everything was 5 star. I have 2 friends already looking to book after me passing on my recommendations to them to stay here. The complex itself was so peaceful, well maintained and idyllic. Thank you to the owner for this amazing holiday we've had! Great price and great find!

I loved this property, very comfortable and nipping clean.

There was a slight issue with the hot tub the first night but the owner got the hot tub engineer out straight away to rectify it, it could do with a hot tub lifter as its very heavy for one person to put back on. The welcome pack was a lovely touch with vino biscuits ,tea and doggy welcome pack too. (lovely). The site is amazing big but very quiet as mainly privately owned lodges, which is great nice and peaceful. Lodge very well equipped, spoke with cleaner on departure, nice lady and she takes pride in her job. Definitely will be back next year again with the dogs. Heated towel rail in en suit doesn't work and a few bulbs need changing, ( just a note for the owner) Loved it fabulous stay. Thank you Kelly (Pippa and Coco the dogs )

Very clean and well equipped lodge set in beautiful surroundings, would recommend a stay there

Duckling lodge is located in a lovely holiday park.

It’s a great size for small family, however lots of things needed updating. Broken toilet roll hanger, broken hoover, cupboards not aligned to use the dishwasher. But it’s nothing to stop you having a good time! We’ve really enjoyed the week there.

We had a lovely, relaxed and comfortable stay in the duckling

I am 12 weeks pregnant and when i got there i had to clean the kitchen work tops and the hobs before we could use them and there was a bit of a horrible smell when you walked but just opening the windows sorted that out , but apart from that the stay was lovely nice and relaxing just what me and my husband needed

Not enough hangers and the problem with the dishwasher door needs to be sorted out, other than that, lovely place and ideally situated

This is a lovely location and overall great accommodation which we would visit again.

Positives; Lovely bedroom and ensuite Kitchen overall had everything you need Sofas have been replaced (ignore reviews about this) Hot tub is lovely! The decking is in shade after 5pm so good for children and pets if you want them out the heat. The umbrella under the sink it handy! The clothes airer was handy too! Tip use the pegs under the sink if you put it outside. Lovely welcome gift, wine and biscuits and mint cake. Dog bowls and a biscuit tin for dog treats was a lovely touch! The rubber mat for the dog bowl was brilliant. Negatives; Oven is dirty, I washed the oven shelf and grill before using it, water was brown. Oven could do with a second shelf, Grill pan has a lump of baked on residue on it. It won’t come off. No oven trays, I purchased one and left it there. Dishwasher doesn’t open unless you pull the kitchen kick boards off. There is a kitchen cupboard without and handle, which can’t be used. Glass in outside table was fallen through dirty and upside down. We managed to get it together and cleaned as best we could. Outside sofa was missing so we used dining chairs outside. We later found it outside the back broken. The torch referred to was missing. The lack of bins in the bathrooms was awkward at times (only one bin in kitchen) Only a few minor points which can be easily rectified, I would stay here again and would recommend it.

The only criterium is, on arrival we had to walk down to the cottage to get a berried opening fob, in the main reception there was no way of opening the barrier to let in new arrivals.

Dissapointed to find when leaving and stripping Bed in Main bedroom that matress cover and matress had stains.

in light of Covid requirements as one of the important factors in your terms and conditions I found this disturbing. Generally the lodge was very nice and enjoyable.

Hi I felt the home could have been cleaner, the skirting boards were dirty, the rugs and pillows on the sofa needed to be washed as had stains on them.

The kit board under the washer doesn't fit and you can't open the dishwasher without taking this off. The curtain pole over the patio doors is broken and is balanced on top of eachother making it dangerous for it to fall. There was no bowl in the sink and no mop to clean the floors meaning I had to do this on my hands and knees. Tye bathroom door sticks and therefore the children were anxious to close this. The batteries ok the TV remote in the living room needed replacing and the TV remote in the bedroom doesn't work properly and needs to be replaced. The photos on the website are not a true reflection of the current curtains, sofa, flooring etc The property is in a lovely location. However the property is in need of some tlc. For a family if four to use the swimming facilities is 25 pound a day or 150 for the week. This is an a heavy price on top of the cost of the lodge.

The lodge was very well equipped, clean and comfortable.

We dropped the key outside in the snow in the dark after a day out and there was no spare key anywhere the master key on site never worked after two hours searching with no torch in snow and leaves I found the key I accidentally dropped I would have found it in the morning in daylight anyway but if I could not have found that key we would have been locked out and all our belongings inside including our house keys for home we tried to get in touch with owners and every number said ring another and nobody answered really really let us down we left the cabin spotless clean the toilet seat in bathroom was broke on arrival and the curtain pole on hot tub side doors kept falling down as soon as we opened them.

The place was amazing only fault no spare key and no hoover or mop and bucket. Thank you for a lovely stay hopefully my feedback helps u get it sorted out thanks

Re the hot tub: when you say don’t adjust the settings on the hot tub and only press the top right button when you get out, did you mean top right when yr in the tub or when stood outside of it?

Maybe a picture of the button would be good. The tub itself was really nice, warm and clean. The settees are awful to look at and the throws don’t cover the plucks and wear of them so initially the impression of the lodge is tainted by that vision, but they are so comfortable! Just need fitted covers to hide the wear & tear. The welcome pack was fabulous and much appreciated. The overall cleanliness was adequate and the beds, showers, kitchen areas were fine. Taking all into account I would stay again as it’s well worth the money and the location was perfect for what we wanted to do.

Lovely, very spacious lodge, comfy beds and sofas and very clean.

The bar and restaurant on the site was reasonably priced, great food and lovely for sitting inside or outside at the lake. No issue with doors as people have previously said in the reviews - you just need to shut them both together so not difficult. Hot tub was abit temperamental. Not many places to walk to as near a busy road when you leave the site but walked to Longlands Hotel & Restaurant which was a decent walk and lovely hotel also next to a lovely farm shop.

Lovely lodge on a beautiful site A couple of things need looking at The blind in the small bedroom needs attention it's come off the backets completely so can't open or close it, The blind in the living room as no gadget to open and close.

The hot tub definitely needs a step to get in and out it could be a struggle for some people.

The holiday site was beautiful, lodge location excellent.

The lodge was clean an tidy on arrival and added extra of a lovely tray of goodies which went down well with the kids. The site itself is stunning all lodges set out around a beautiful lake. Swimming was a big hit with kids just be mindful there is a charge and if children under 16 they need an adult at all times in the water even if they are good swimmers as there is no lifeguard. Hot tub was fantastic !!! Location was great too. Just a few points about the lodge which let it down tv in bedroom does not work at all an tv in lounge works for 10mins and goes off. Only three knives and forks available so I had to go and buy cutlery set for £15 in carnforth village on first day which I wasn’t to happy about. Door handle in main bathroom needs attention loose an sticks one time my son struggled to get out which shuck him up as he thought he wouldn’t get out. Toilet seat in main bathroom needs attention it moves when you sit on it and u nearly fall off. Hoover in bedroom needs a good clean as when u put it on to use it’s stinks and basically made me feel sick. On the whole we had a great stay an I think if the points I raised were addressed would have been excellent. Thanks again .

The lodge was great, clean and comfortable beds.

The TV in lounge kept playing up. Could do with a full length mirror and the sofas are very worn, cracked and don't look good. Could do with replacing . Hot tub was fabulous - maybe a little step to help get in and out for the elderly!

The cabin was lovely hut tub was really good.

but the TV in the lounge would only work for 10 mins then the screen would go all fuzzy which is not good when the children would like to watch things and at the end of the day when you just want to chill. only 3 forks and 3 knifes which is not good when there is 4 of you. no contact details of owner left to fix these problems when we have been to other sites and something was wrong you could contact them and they would get the problem sorted. The welcome pack was lovely tho. skirting boards were a bit dusty. kitchen cupboards need sorting out so you have better room to fit your food in some was filled with chunk stuff and top corner cupboard needs sorting as you can't get it open very easily. Lovely site and good base to visit so many lovely places.

What a lovely lodge!

Was welcomed with a lovely gift basket and found the accommodation clean and welcoming. There were a few minor issues - but nothing that spoiled our holiday - and comments in relation to these were left in the guest book to be addressed. Loved the hot tub and it was so nice to be somewhere we could just switch off and relax. Fabulous location for various day trips out. Would definitely recommend and rebook. Spotlessly clean (malva the polish cleaner is a superstar!

!!) and beautiful lodge,very well equipped and welcome pack was a lovely touch. Sadly only managed 30mins use of hot tub before it had a 'thermal trip error'. No idea who/how to contact anyone to fix it. Googled owners manual and managed to restart tub but it never got back up to temperature for us to be able to use it for the remainder of our stay ☹️ (disappointing as hot tub was the reason we booked this lodge). We still made the most of our stay and couldn't fault anything else about the lodge......and we would definitely book it again. Already recommended to friends and family!

Rare to find such a good/clean property where you are able to take a pet We all enjoyed our stay and would not think twice at re booking for another holiday in the near future.

Lodge was exceptional. Standard of accommodation was very high and spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Thanks also for the welcome pack which was very useful. Weather was lovely. Perfect for exploring this beautiful area.

Lovely hot tub and cottage.

Only little niggle was toilet seats I suppose. But I can easily cope with this. But someone older may struggle. All in all 10 out of 10. Me and my partner have even considered our retirement in one of these lodges

Really enjoyed our stay at Duckling lodge the cabin was beautiful clean,well thought out everything you would need nice welcome pack even Netflix was free,The hot tub was great we looked at a lot of great reviews before we went seen 1 bad reviews which was totally untrue and unfair in my opinion would defiantly recommend this lodge

Beautiful lodge on a stunning site, perfect base for exploring the lakes.

Bed linen was clean and everything you need is provided, iron and board, hairdryer, fully equipped kitchen, even dog treats for the furry guest. Welcome pack was a lovely gesture. Spacious lodge and plenty of room for a family of 4 and a dog! Only thing would I would say is kids room could do with a black out curtain and same in the master as light mornings got us up early! Kids loved the hottub, and the balcony is lovely and safe for pets and kids

Pleasant little lodge - however lots of snags which really interrupted our stay.

Firstly add states shop in 0.1 miles - there is no shop. Add states fishing included in rent - not strictly true..fishing is only available if your lodge is directly on the water (this lodge is not) so reception advised fishing is only from the lake beach where kids play which is not appropriate, so therefore told fishing is on a neighbouring site for £6. Add stated WiFi - the property had no WiFi. The back doors are broken, the shower leaks, the dishwasher doesn’t work correctly, the kids seat on en-suite toilet doesn’t stay up so we didn’t use this toilet, the telly in the bedroom didn’t work, the telly in the living room kept glitching and we were unable to turn off from the socket as the owners had screwed the TV to the wall blocking the socket. So we had to simply ‘wait it out’ for the TV to shortcut and turn off. Extremely frustrating stay with lots of faults needing a simple fix. The add isn’t honest with shop WiFi fishing etc.

Don't go to restaurant, waited for one and half hours to be served,and this was a booked table,it wasn't even busy.

Cancelled all other bookings, and ate out. Furniture in lounge all scratched and torn blinds. Will look elsewhere in future.

The property was lovely, very clean and had everything you could need when away from home.

Hot tub had some issues but these were sorted really quickly so we were able to use it. We had a lovely stay and would love to stay there again :)

Lodge was lovely and clean a few things don’t work or are not fitting correct but that doesn’t spoil your stay they only thing that was a let down was the restaurant on site didn’t do much and there was no shop….

Our favourite place to stay for a getaway!

The campsite is so peaceful it feels like you're in a different world altogether, yet the location of it is amazing for Lake District days out. The lodge itself was spotless, and the goodies that were left for us was a really nice gesture. Of course, the hot tub is an amazing addition!! We already are looking forward to when we can next come back.

Property really lovely.

Hot tub we only got working to proper temp once tried everything. Staff onsite not so. As property not leased by park couldn’t be less bothered. Have to pay for the pool Which is freezing. Nothing to do with owner. Beautiful property

We had a lovely weekend away at Duckling lodge.

It was clean and tidy on arrival. Resort was quite but was expected for that time of year (December). Only thing we would of liked, would be a cover over the hot tub for bad weather. Otherwise would definitely recommend this lodge and can’t wait to go back! Our little doggie had a great time to…

We had a lovely stay in the lodge and we felt very relaxed, we found a couple of issues but they were sorted after we contact you without a problem.

The hot tub sheet said it was checked twice a day, it wasn’t checked at all in the week we were there.

Was full of bits of leaves and things every day. The lodge was very dirty when we arrived, bits of food on floor, chairs, bed. The patio doors were faulty, and instead of fixing them which wouldn’t be hard to do, they took the time to make a sheet that said please close them together which is lazy. The cutlery supplied was very cheap and flimsy, we struggled to eat with them and ended up using our own out of our picnic bag! Not many plates and pans. The tv had space and a cable for the DVD player but no DVD player? Either bother or don’t? Furniture and items seem dated, lots of walls scuffed with paint! A tin of paint is about a tenner! We enjoyed the beds, VERY comfy. En-suite shower brilliant as was bath in other room. Would be nice if there was some kind of contact number in the lodge or an info folder with things to do? Every other lodge I’ve been to has it. Reception were a bit rude, we asked where to go and got told to take a picture of the map and the key would be in a safe. On site restaurant is ok, but you can never get booked in and they shut at 8:30 in holiday season? Really don’t understand why. We would stay again but the lodge needs updating, cleaning and maybe just a more personal touch, we feel like the bedding was changed before we came but nothing was cleaned or tidied. We still had a nice holiday.

What great accommodation!

Spacious, comfortable, clean, excellent facilities. Good location for easy access up to the Lake District (only 25 minutes to the bottom of Lake Windemere) Loved the hot tub & we weren’t great at figuring it out but quick, friendly & helpful communication with the lovely owners soon rectified this. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Duckling lodge was everything we could have wanted.

...it was exceptionally clean, very comfortable and easy access to the Lakes and other lovely places. We will definitely be going again!

Good Morning I’ve already replied to your pre-departure email asking if our stay was to our expectations.

Bearing in mind the comments made I did expect a response but as yet nothing.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here, the lodge has every home comfort.

It was a great base for hiking and exploring the lakes and having the hot tub to come back to for soaking tired limbs was a real bonus. Thank you.

needed a very last minute get away following some sad family news, our little one loved the hot tub, and the park was lovely relaxed and quiet, the cabin was clean, smelt lovely when we went in.

It was home from home comfort and really helped us recouperate. We were dashing to leave and so I am sorry I put the dishwasher on and left this on the cycle as we were leaving as we left earlier than we anticipated. The hoover wasnt the best at picking up the smaller bits but I gave it a good going over as we were leaving, we will defo stay here again in the near future! Thank you for being our haven. :)

Hot tub didn’t work during the stay, there were no numbers of who to contact to get it sorted.

This is not a lodge as advertised but a static caravan.

The accommodation was full of cobwebs, spiders, the carpet was stained. The ensuite shower was unusable as the water was scalding hot and unable to be turned to a lower temperature. Also in the ensuite the water in the loo was running constantly which caused a disturbed night sleep. We thought cleanliness would be absolutely second to none in current climate. Washed all cutlery and crockery before using as was marked and dirty

The lodge was brilliant very clean and a great hot tub also a nice site with a good pub and restaurant

Quite a bit further from The Lakes than I had thought... If you’re looking to holiday in Cumbria - check the location more thoroughly than we did!
