Firstly add states shop in 0.1 miles - there is no shop. Add states fishing included in rent - not strictly true..fishing is only available if your lodge is directly on the water (this lodge is not) so reception advised fishing is only from the lake beach where kids play which is not appropriate, so therefore told fishing is on a neighbouring site for £6. Add stated WiFi - the property had no WiFi. The back doors are broken, the shower leaks, the dishwasher doesn’t work correctly, the kids seat on en-suite toilet doesn’t stay up so we didn’t use this toilet, the telly in the bedroom didn’t work, the telly in the living room kept glitching and we were unable to turn off from the socket as the owners had screwed the TV to the wall blocking the socket. So we had to simply ‘wait it out’ for the TV to shortcut and turn off. Extremely frustrating stay with lots of faults needing a simple fix. The add isn’t honest with shop WiFi fishing etc.
Thank you for your feedback. I was disappointed to hear that you were unhappy - but this is the first either Sykes, or myself, heard of it. You stayed in the lodge for 7 days, yet waited 2 days (after you got home) to write a bad review. I would have thought that you would complain whilst on holiday, so that I can fix any problems. Because I was upset about the review, I decided to visit the lodge myself yesterday, to look at these 'snags'. The ad stated under 1 mile for the nearest shop, then further down it said 0.1 miles - this was a typing error, which has been rectified by Sykes now. The fishing is onsite, but reception say, that there are not many fish in there, so they send people over the road to a fishing lake that has lots of wonderful fish in it and it is charged at £6 per day. The wifi is definitely working, the back doors are not broken - and I have written in the manual (which is on the coffee table) that the doors need to be closed together - it's really easy. I put the dishwasher on, and that worked perfectly, and the shower didn't leak while I was there. The children's seat is for a child to sit on - I thought I was thinking of everyone's stay - but everybody can still use it. The tv in the bedroom worked perfectly. I had the tv on in the lounge area all day and there were no glitches. The shop and the fishing have been amended on Sykes site. Thank you.
