Gressingham 7

11th to 18th April 2025.

Part of me doesn't want to leave a great review, because I want to keep this lodge a secret. The lodge is stunning. When you walk into the lounge/kitchen/dining area, you are not only presented with an immaculate and beautiful living area.. but the view over the lake is so gorgeous and tranquil. The bedrooms, bathroom/unsuited were all immaculate too. The lodge is presented so well and provides pretty much everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We were lucky to enjoy a pretty quiet and peaceful week. The actual resort is mostly quiet. Lots of dogs, lots!! Dogs are everywhere and welcome in the bar/restaurant. This will be welcoming for those with dogs. Thankfully, most people kept their dogs on a leash but there were the odd ones who happily let their pet run freely. We don't have a dog and usually try to avoid holidays that are dog friendly.. but they seem to be few and far between these days. We chose to use the bar/restaurant at nearby parks. This was not an issue for us. The swimming pool is lovely and a great size. It's about the only thing for kids to do.. but.. we were aware of this before we booked. There is lots for kids to do at close by parks. Back to the pool. Be aware that it's very expensive.. and quite a bit more expensive for private guests. You can pay for a 1 day 3 day or 7 day pass. The 3 day being consecutive days. Price list/opening times are provided by the leisure centre. Carnforth has a public swimming pool which is much cheaper. The resort is perfectly placed between the Lakes, Yorkshire and Lancashire. You can visit so many places without travelling too far. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. and would absolutely come back to this lodge

Gressingham 7 was a superb lodge and I would recommend it.

It's location was excellent and it was a lovely place to stay for a week, we found some lovely places to visit. The only disappointment was the swimming pool on site which was overpriced, overcrowded and the changing facilities were off a poor standard.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Gressingham 7.

If, like me, you struggle to find the key safe on arrival, it is attached to the wooden fencing, a short way along from the door. The glass balcony gave us fabulous views of the birds on the lake. We spotted coots, grebes and a heron besides the more common (but very entertaining) ducks, swans and geese. The outdoor furniture was a little different (better I’d say) than the photos - still the sofa in the background but the table had 6 chairs for enjoying outdoor meals and the 2 loungers had been replaced with comfy chairs. The weather was unusually hot and the lodge did get rather warm, even with lots of doors and windows open. Maybe a fan could be added to the already extensive array of equipment provided to help with this (admittedly rare) occurrence. The kitchen is well equipped with good, sharp knives - always a bonus. The TV sound is activated by pressing the top left hand corner of the controller on the wall to the right of the TV. The bedrooms have comfy beds and the whole lodge has lots of storage. We’d love to stay again!

Great property in a beautiful setting.

Nice and quiet - perfect for get-together. Clean and tidy. Everything was thought of in this property. One of the best self-catering accommodations we have stayed in. My son loved the successful fishing (you do need a rod licence).

The cabin is the nicest we have stayed in (and we’ve stayed in a few).

Beautifully furnished with everything you could want. The deck with the glass wall makes the views over the lake even better. The site is quiet and well kept with no noise from the road. The location is great for both the lakes, dales and Lancashire coast. Very happy with our stay.

stayed in this beautiful lodge 2nd week in june 24, wonderful setting, but couldn't lounge on the decking due to unusual cold weather.

would book again and hope for better weather. Loved watching the bird life on the lake, all in all one of the best lodges i have stayed in.

A beautiful lodge with great views and so nice to be able to watch the activity on the water.

Furnishings inside were top quality and all matched. Beds extremely comfy . It was like home from home. Superb. The only problem we had - 2 happy pensioners- everything was high tech. From finding out how to get sound from the TV - had to press something on the wall , not using the remote. Microwave and heating also too technical for us. Simplicity is so much easier but we survived !

We had a great time at the Gressingham 7.

The property was clean, comfortable and very welcoming, with lovely views across the lake. Everything required was provided, and there were a few nice touches like welcome snacks, candle holders and the electric fire. Perhaps something to prepare fresh coffee would be a bonus, as I had forgotton to bring my filter jug and had to buy one. Otherwise, everything else was excellent. Would highly recommend!
