What guests are saying
Would have like to have given the lodge the full 5 stars, unfortunately the sofas were uncomfortable and in need of re-cushioning so loses a star.
The rest of the lodge was excellent, outstanding facilities and very well equipped. Recommend taking a fire stick, as the TV reception is poor and you’ll need to reboot the wi-fi a couple of times too. The site itself is peaceful and quiet, but the pub/restaurant only opened from Wednesday, good food and reasonably priced though. Recommended.
Although generally clean there was little areas missed.
We found cars under the sofa cushions, a teddy bear on top of the curtains and crumbs under the cushions and sofas. We also had to wash plates, glasses and cutlery before use but these where only minor issues. Internet was very poor and kept going off, which in turn kept turning the heating off and the reception on the tvs was very poor. Batteries need replacing in one of the remotes in the small double. Couldn't find a first aid kit which was needed after a glass broke when washing it (we replaced the broken glass).
The lodge was perfect for our family and the leisure village is beautiful.
The beds were super comfy, linen was lovely, so helpful to have a highchair too as we have a baby. Everything you need is in the kitchen. It was brilliant to have such big cupboards in the bedrooms - we actually used one as the baby’s bedroom as her travel cot fit in there! The kids loved all the games provided too. The only thing we had trouble with was the wifi for streaming stuff on the TV, but we didn’t watch TV really so it wasn’t a big issue at all. Our phones and tablets worked fine when necessary. We enjoyed swimming as a family at the leisure centre and were able to go back and use the gym too. We also loved our evening at the onsite restaurant and bar. The children played on the little beach while we had a drink looking over the lake - so beautiful. It was also great to have Chantelle’s number to ask a couple of questions and she responded straight away, which was so helpful! We will definitely be back :)
