Description

This superb lodge is situated a 15 minute stroll from the historic village of Cartmel, at the top of the exclusive Pastures lodge park in a slightly elevated position towards the boundary of this 26 acre park with woodland and glade, thus affording extra outdoor space and privacy.

Immaculately-presented in a quality contemporary style, this spacious lodge has open plan living with patio doors from the living area and a bedroom that opens on to the spacious elevated decking screened by glass with patio furniture and hot tub.

On entering the lodge there is a vestibule with seating area and the washer/dryer which leads into the open plan living space with a large comfortable leather settee and woodburner, perfect to relax in front of on those chillier evenings.

When warmer, open the patio doors and step onto the decking perhaps for an alfresco meal or drink and listen to the sound of bird song.

The well-equipped stylish kitchen has integral appliances, granite surfaces and has a very useful wine chiller.

Stepping into the spacious bedroom there are also patio doors leading to the private decking and the en-suite bathroom has a bath with rain shower over and with beautiful contemporary fixtures and fittings.

The lodge also benefits from a hot tub allowing guests to relax after a hard day exploring the local area.

Picturesque Cartmel is just three quarters of a mile away with its 12th century priory, and interesting independent shops and, of course, its eateries and pubs, including the infamous L'enclume restaurant together with a great selection of other restaurants.

There is also the racecourse which holds meets during the summer months when the whole village is open, so a fantastic day out is within walking distance.

Locally, there is Newby Bridge, which is at the southerly tip of Windermere, where you can take a boat cruise and view the stunning lakeland scenery on route to Bowness or Ambleside.

Cyclists will also delight in the many trials especially in close by Grizedale Forrest.

Grange-over-Sands is just 2 miles away, a Lakeland Edwardian coastal town with estuary promenade walk, a chocolatier and cafes.

Humpreys Head is a pretty walk with coastal views and bluebell-filled woodland and this point is said to be the last known sighting of a wolf.

This fabulous lodge is perfectly positioned for exploring this glorious lakeland area both near or further afield all year round.

Return back to the lodge at the end of the day and enjoy total rest and relaxation.

The Lodge was amazing and I will return 100%.

Everything you could need is there plenty of cutlery plates cups and glasses. Pots and pans. Amazing having a dishwasher ,washer and dryer. Just remember to take your own laundry liquids (which i forgot.) My only complaint was the shower. Two heads, one was a hand held and the other was a rain fall head. Sadly the mechanism which changed from one to the other was faulty so both heads worked at the same time, meaning that the pressure was very low so more of a dribble than a full blown shower. I loved my stay and the location of the hut tub and decking meant you had sun literally all day. I loved this lodge, i felt very safe as a woman on her own. Wifi was excellent, it was lovely to be able to use the smart tv of an evening and watch a film with a glass or two. Maintenence was available with a simple phone call. Hot tub was checked every morning by staff which was reassuring to see. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing break.

It could be clearer that the property is semi detached as this is not apparent until you look closer.

Images are slightly deceiving. Crook Lodge is in a wonderful spot and is immaculately clean. Dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid provided in kitchen and hand soap and toilet roll in bathroom. Enough to get started. Shower is temperamenal, patio door lock has a mind of its own and the tap in the kitchen has an endless drip. I would advise owners to sort these three internal ssues to bring property fully acceptable. Hot tub brilliant. Well maintained and we had a brilliant week of weather. Outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. Take your own chairs!

After reading a previous review made after our booking, I was a bit worried, however this was unnecessary!

Yes the lounge door to the verandah needs looking at as it’s dropped a bit, yes a small amount of ‘noise’ from adjoining cabin, but nothing of any concern, shower kept running cold but due to heatwave, not a massive worry. The cabin was lovely and comfortable, spacious and had everything you need. We stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave! Hot tub was fabulous, easy to get in and out and was checked daily by site staff. Site was lovely, clean and quiet. Kitchen well equipped if you wanted to cook there. Storage in utility area for walking gear, washing machine and tumble dryer if needed, storage in bedroom very good, wardrobe, drawers under bed and bedside tables. Would definitely recommend!!!
