Lakeview Lodge

There was no shade on the decking.

The cabin is overlooked and we were clearly being watched by everyone on site. The double bed was full of flees, i was eaten alive after thinking id got rid of them all and there were no towels. We had to purchase our own toilet roll as we ran out. We were left with 1 bin bag which was absolutely not enough. I paid just under £500 for 2 nights, massively overpriced for what we got and I would never recommend nor stay here again, even if it was free. This is such a shame because it was a beautiful cabin.

This was our second visit to Bowland Leisure Village and we will be booking again for next year.

It is wonderfully situated on a serene and quiet plot and the Lakeside View Lodge is almost perfect. Our only tweaks would be that there is a foul smelling green-like watery substance right outside of the gate of the decking which we and the dog has to walk through so that needs fixing and the wifi isn't good in the main. In addition, I signed up to Bloom in the knowledge that after two vacations with Sykes, future holidays had dicounts applied, but this doesn't seem to have happened.

This property has a prime location on the edge of a peaceful lake liked by a number of fishing folk.

The lodge itself was modern bright and airy with a relaxing feel to it. First impressions were very positive. However, the small expectations were short of a desired standard; eg limited amount of cutlery, tea spoons, no cereal bowls, no anti-slip shower mat .... The green wet algae at the bottom of the entrance steps appeared to originate from possible leaking waste water outlets from under the lodge - there was no-one on site to investigate this. The reception was open from 9.30am - 4.00 pm which, for us was the period we were off site and therefore could not raise any queries. Similar comments from other visitors seem to have gone unheeded which was disappointing. It was good to have had a fan provided for hot weather and the walk-it shower was extremely good, as was the provision to park the car right next to the lodge.

Everything was lovely, would be very picky to complain.

It was what we expected and we have no complaints.

Convenient fishing spec right outside the lodge. Couldn't fault it.

We have had many excellent stays in the fisherman’s lodge at Bowland lakes but this was the first time we have stayed in Lake view lodge.

We found the lodge to be the next level in comfort, space, amenities and the view over the lake. I also found the fishing to be excellent from the peg in front of the lodge having a good bag of carp to 10lbs, using a method feeder and maggots. Not bad for December fishing in driving rain at times. Once again all the staff were very friendly and helpful going the extra mile. Looking forward to our next trip.

Very nice property comfortable and peacefull.

Location fabulous. We arrived at night storm claudia in full force ,struggled to find property on site due to no lighting ,could have easily driven into lake. Could do with lit up numbers for each lodge maybe some reflectors on some low level log effect barriers to assist on gravel roads. Need emergency contact info in lodge no numbers in folder and instructions on cooker operation etc we had to google instructions. We had power cut at night in the dark luckily someone else in next lodge able to assist. Microwave stopped working, one of gas rings not working ,hall door couldnt close as handle wouldnt open . Glass on patio windows had condensation permanently so views to lake little obscured maybe seal issue . Giving the minor issues we had it didnt spoil our stay at all we were well rested and enjoyed the peace and relaxation so would stay again. Bring a good torch as you will need one.

What a hidden gem Bowland Lakes village is.

The site was perfect and tranquil. Excellent for fishing if that is your thing. Staff are amazing and friendly. The lodge is stunning and the elevated view on the deck is heaven. The weather for November was unbelievably sunny and warm. We were attending a wedding at Wyresdale Weddings which was less than 5 mins drive. JUST perfect.

Ive stayed here before and love it the people who work there,the owners are all lovely.

the fishing is good,carp caught of 19lbs,21lbs,and 22lbs this week,there there to catch.overall a great break and would recommend to eberyone.

The accommodation is excellent and the surroundings wonderful. We had a very peaceful break. Will definitely return.

Had a brilliant time nice and relaxed wish we caught more species of fish maybe next only thing was bed and pillows weren't comfy but that's just us would come back

Slight issues with tv,butoverall this is my 2nd time hare and back again in 6 weeks,so shows how good it is.

The property was very very nice,we had a lovely week,fishing was slow but that did not upset the holiday,we were there for a break,a rest,we did have a bit of a WiFi tv interference,we kept losing the picture but it doesn't matter,we were fishing most of the time,we did report it just in case,I think the outside windows could do with some tlc,and balcony,obviously the owners concern,not the company, We will he back to conquer them fish.

saying that I had a 9lb carp and an eel,not my fave fish urghhĥ.thankyou to everyone at the lakes for making it just right,above and beyond and helpfull. Bye for now xx

I have booked another week in may,as i enjoyed it so much.

the place is lovely and people lovely.i fish for carp and perch mainly but i caught many species.ie,carp 18,15,13,and10lb commons and 10lb mirror. 20 +perch to 3lbs, umerous ide 2lb,4.4lb and 6.6lb,4lb bream,5lb chub and several eels up to 4lbs.the place is lovely.cant recomment it more.

Great place to fish and stay,no fish caught because it was far to cold.

When the weather warms up you could have a field day here catching fish. Lodge was great,if I had one issue it would be the mattresses on the beds,far to soft and uncomfortable,need better mattresses.Other than this it would be 5 stars for me.

Cleanliness of the lodge was amazing and we couldn’t believe how big this lodge actually was. Would definitely come back and stay again! Thank you
