5 Waterside Wood

This really is 5* accommodation and has the “Wow” factor as soon as you walk in and see the kitchen and also the bathroom, bedrooms and living area.

As well, the lodge is close to the reception area/ shop/ pool etc. Everything provided was top quality including the towels and bedding. Only minor niggles were the internet was intermittent , there were no mirrors in two of the bedrooms and leaving a spare toilet roll would have been appreciated ( the reception shop had sold out!) All in all- we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lodge

In general a very nice lodge.

A welcome pack( salt and pepper and teabags, coffee etc)would be nice as always had in other lodges stayed. Decking covered in algae and slippy could of been jet washed. It needs to be made clear in description big 4 x 4 cannot drive through bridge which is far to narrow to get to lodge. So we ended up parking on main park road opposite. This potentially could be a problem for anyone with accessibility issues. If these were addressed would of given 5 star.

Beautiful lodge.

The boiler needs attention which i reported before I went home. On your site it says open 7 days a week .I phoned Sunday and no reply.Maintainence from park came out but couldn't fix as not allowed to dismantle .We had no hot water or heating two mornings.Managed to reboot it but kept going off. It would not stop me coming again.needs fixing though.

We had a lovely stay at 5 Waterside Wood.

The lodge was much more spacious than I expected and there was plenty of room for 4 adults and 1 toddler. The beds were comfy and there was enough space (just) in the twin room to fit a travel cot. The kitchen was well equipped and bathrooms good. The lodge is in a great location both within the holiday park itself and the park is only a short drive to Ambleside and Bowness. The only issues we had were that the hot water stopped working one evening, however my husband was able to fix it, and on arrival at 3pm, the cleaner was still there as there seemed to be a miscommunication about check in time. These issues didn’t massively impact our stay and we would be happy to return.

The lodge was lovely, modern, clean and well equipped.

The only issue we had was the heating was not working our initial arrival. We initially thought this was possibly just due to the lodge being empty for a period of time therefore we believed we’d set the heating to come on and went to the park club house for dinner and evening entertainment whilst the lodge heated up. On arrival back later that evening the heating hadn’t come on therefore it was still very cold. I called and left a voicemail on the Sykes maintenance number however as it was already well into the evening and with children staying in the lodge I communicated the heating issue with the parkdene reception who quickly deployed maintenance staff who rectified quite quickly by bleeding all the radiators. This heating issue was resolved quickly but took a little while for the lodge to heat up after being cold for so long and the inclement weather at the time. There were no further issues during our stay until the morning of check out when there was no hot water for showers. We washed up using hot water from the kettle. All in all our stay was nice, however there was a couple inconveniences which impacted on our short duration stay. We would stay here again as long as the heating and hot water are resolved.

Exceptional lodge in the perfect location.

Even though there was a fault with the boiler it was dealt with immediately. Would definitely book this again.
