The Badger's Shack

My husband and I plus our little girl were delighted with this gorgeous cottages in the Longsledale valley.

It was so tastefully decorated throughout. The beds were comfortable and the surrounding area was immensely beautiful. Chris greeted us and showed us around on arrival. Afterwards he told us some history, the surrounding hills and the nearby footpaths we could follow. It was more than we could ever have asked for. My husband and I have visited the Lakes for many decades. This time we wanted to show our disabled daughter the beauty of the Lakes.

We had the most wonderful stay at this charming lodge in the Lake District.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how cosy and inviting the place felt - Chris and Julie have really thought about every detail with this lodge, and were both amazing hosts. The property had direct access to some lovely trails in the lakes, which provided some amazing views, but we were always excited to return to the cosy, warm lodge after a day in the lakes.

Loved our stay at Badgers Shack!

A cosy space for four adults, with comfy beds, a roll top bath and a well equipped kitchen. Chris and Julie were very welcoming, left us some welcome treats on arrival, and very responsive if we needed to contact them. Well located for walks, and not too far from some lovely towns and villages for days out exploring. Would defintely come back for another stay.

Quiet and relaxing.

Everything you could need. Netflixs was a added bonus. Everything was done to a very high standard. We would recommend badgers shack.

A lovely, well maintained, cosy lodge.

The property had everything we needed for our stay. The cooking utensils were of high quality and plenty for our stay. Julie and Chris were lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay at Badgers lodge with its idyllic and peaceful surroundings.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage and will remember it for many years to come.

Really lovely shack overlooking an amazing valley of rolling green hills, dotted with sheep grazing.

So peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend.

Lovely stay, Chris the owner was great in going through things and very hospitable.

Was a sunny week, very hot and with 4 skylights, living area was too hot. And opening doors let in wildlife. Def recommend at wintertime, would be using the log fire inside. Lovely decoration and decent shower. Kitchen very well equipped. Seating area outside was lovely, great views, peaceful. Needed an outside umbrella for shade in the sun.

We had a lovely stay in Badger’s Shack.

Very quiet location. We had everything we needed and more. The view over the valley and hills was wonderful and we could walk straight from the cottage on footpaths in all directions. The sheep and very young lambs in the fields were an added bonus!

Amazing home… amazing views & excellent welcoming… will definitely be recommending to family and friends .

Had a 4 night stay at the Badgers shack, very welcoming and knowledgeable hosts.

Accommodation was spotless, beautifully finished, comfortable and well-equipped. Fantastic location with lots of local walking routes, beautiful scenery and close to many Lakes destinations. Had a beautiful lunch at The Black Labrador pub, recommended by Chris...fantastic! Would definitely recommend and we absolutely plan to return! Thankyou!

Unbelievable place to chill out.

The Badgers Shack is stunning with Chris the host most welcoming. Julie’s flair for interior design is impeccable. I would recommend the holiday experience we have just had to everybody. We had a fantastic few days.

My wife and I stayed in the Badgers Shack for a week in September 2024.

A fabulous property that’s tastefully decorated and furnished to the highest of standards providing everything you could possibly need for a lovely stay. Spotlessly clean and very warm and cosy. Situated in a lovely quiet location with plenty of walks from the front door, we didn’t need to use the car during our stay. Chris was very welcoming and provided us with lots of useful information about the area. Julie also provided a lovely welcome basket containing local goodies. A lovely couple.

We had a very pleasant stay at Badger’s Shack.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided for. The location is sufficiently remote with amazing views of the hills but still a short drive from Kendal. We would love to stay there again the next time we visit the Lake District.

We loved staying here.

It had everything we needed to self- cater including BBQing! All the fixtures and fittings were of super quality and the decor and soft furnishings beautifully made and matched. Chris and Julie are amazing hosts and have wonderful accommodation in an idyllic setting. Great to escape to from a busy day.

They told me that the owners were welcoming, friendly and the property was beautifully furnished and clean. Also amazing location and views! Would highly recommend!

Our main bedroom with zip 6 foot bed excellent but 2 nd bedroom has 2 clear roof lights that made my brother and sister in law wake every morning at daylight 4am they need blacking out when you are on holiday u need to lay in.

Chris and Julie our hosts were exceptional in creating a welcoming base for us to stay whilst we visited the Lake District.
