Beautiful property & surroundings & extremely well maintained.

We’ll definitely return & would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break. The only negative is the signage into the site & number on the lodges needs to be clearer.

Immaculately clean, thoughtful welcome package, comfortable, good quality furniture, cosy and well lit accommodation.

This was a last minute booking but everything was right the lodge was superb and we also had luxuries left and above all a beautiful Xmas tree it was spot on the only thing we were a bit concerned about was the noise from the boiler maybe that should be checked but it it did not dampen our love for the place and we will be going back

Absolutely beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings, very tranquil with the river and woodlands.

The lodge was well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely touch to have dog treats in the welcome pack. Good location for visiting Windermere and Coniston. Due to the time of year the weather wasn’t brilliant which was only to be expected. A hoover / dustpan and brush and mop would have been helpful as was very mindful of the lovely wooden floors. Will definitely be returning and recommend if you are looking for a totally relaxing break.

We spent a lovely week in Ash Thwaite lodge.

The space was perfect, the lodge was comfortable and warm with everything we needed. We had to contact the host regarding a problem with the dishwasher, she replied immediately with friendly and helpful advice. I would recommend a stay here to anyone wanting to explore the beautiful Lakes

Big bed shame 2 mattresses made bed uncomfortable, heating kept coming on at weird times aswell.

Really enjoyed our stay at Ash Thwaite, nice modern lodge, comfortable, clean, great showers, nice & peaceful location, warm & cosy, fully equipped with everything you may need, ideally situated for visiting all the Lake District attractions, walks on the doorstep too!

Great for dog walking Didn’t want to leave

We had a fantastic everything was great, it was well equipped kitchen, spacious with a comfortable lounge and terrace and lovely bathrooms.

The only thing that knocked off a star for us is the double bed has a dip in the middle so isn’t that comfortable. Also, it would benefit from aircon for very hot days as you can’t have windows open due to bugs (mozzy/midges). At least you should have had two fans.

We had a great stay at Ash Thwaite.

The lodge was exactly as described and the perfect base for us to explore the lakes with it being just 30 minutes from Windermere and Coniston. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Exceptional property in an exceptional location.

The property owners have considered everything with a really informative pack of information left to help us explore the surrounding area. The property was clean, equipped with all the items we could need and in brilliant condition. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning

A very beautiful place / very quiet in natural surroundings, we couldn’t fault it.

Every thing was way above what we had expected and the effort from the owners was also first class and very professional from the start to the end of our holiday. If you want me to comment about anything. Maybe you could put some low lights along the track somewhere for people walking back to the lodges late at night.

Beautiful situation on the site of old gunpowder mill, listening to the Leven on the balcony every night, great walks around and in the locality outside the site.

Ideally located near main transit links for visiting The Bay and main southern lakes and of course the steam railway and motor museum. The Lodges and their fittings are the next level in terms of environment and quality, well done for the vision and implementation. We will visit again soon.

We had an amazing stay at Ash Thwaite.

The lodge exceeded expectations. Everything in there was really high quality, very clean and attention to detail was so good. The treats for everyone on arrival (including the dog!) were very thoughtful. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy sitting on the patio or enjoying a BBQ at night. It was really peaceful and the information in the lodge provided lots of walks from the doorstep (we did one of them as had already pre-booked activities before we arrived). The only negative was that the bedrooms were very warm at nighttime and as they were on ground level didn't want to sleep with the window open. There was a fan in the lodge but that was pinched by our sons! We would definitely return though as it's definitely the best holiday lodge we have stayed in. Thank you.

Stunning Lodge in a perfect location on the banks of the River Leven.

Super clean and comfortable accommodation that was perfect for our family. Location of the lodge is a perfect distance from Ulverston and Lake Windermere. Welcome pack was such a nice touch too, with items for us and for a dog.

The lodge was excellent, it was very clean, well presented and a very high standard with nice touches on arrival including a lovely cake, pint of milk and dog treats.

The surroundings were amazing if you are looking for peace and quiet as the only noise was the sounds of birds and the river. The lodge does get hot but as the weather was good we had both patio doors open all the time so it quickly cooled. Very handy that the patio area was enclosed so our dog could come and go without risk of wandering off. We could not fault anything about the lodge or the site and will be coming back.

The property was extremely clean and exactly as listed.

The owner Sarah had left us some cake and dog treats. There was also a dog towel and bowl which was exteemely helpful too. We (dog included) had an amazing stay! The wifi signal was quite poor but the owner did offer to call the service provider but we did’t really need it anyway.

We had the pleasure of staying here last week and what a wonderful place it turned out to be.

If you're looking for somewhere to get away and have a complete break, this is ideal. The accommodation was 1st class, can't fault anything at all, the welcome pack was a really nice touch too! Finished to a very high standard and just what you need after a long day walking. It's close enough to reach places, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough, we will definitely be back! Thank you!

One of the cleanest and well presented lodges we have ever stayed .

Only one negative was the air source heat pumps underfloor heating took a long time to cool down. Left short note about it for owners.Good location for Lakes exploring great place for dogs

Ash Thwaite is a new lodge and is very clean, comfortable, and cosy.

All furnishings are of a high quality. TV and WiFi were excellent. The kitchen is very well equipped with appliances and utensils. Everything we needed was provided. Beds and bedding were excellent. We had 2 medium sized dogs who loved the under-floor heating. The owners provide an information pack with useful details about local services together with maps of walks from the door step. The site is well kept and full of interesting artifacts from its days as a gunpowder works. Wateredge Mill Lodges are well located for access to both the southern lakes and Furness peninsular. Local pub has good food and excellent beer and only a short walk.

The only complaint was that the heating was set too high .

Home from home. Set in a very tranquil location near the river, very accessible to all beauty spots and tourist attractions. Excellent hosts who ensured all of our needs were met. Would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the Lakes and we will be returning here on our next trip to the area. There are 9 lodges located here, nicely spaced to ensure privacy.
