The Brambles

The site entrance lacks a clear big sign and very easily missed and then you end up driving a long country lane trying to turn back, a clear big sign would make it easy for a stranger to the area to find the site.

The lodge number markings could also be clearer as we had to get out of our car to be able to read lodge numbers, they are bronze and blend in with the post and therefore very difficult to read. We arrived on a summers day and found the property very very hot as the heating was left on, it took a few hours to cool the property down, other than finding cobwebs on bedroom windows and a few spiders in the cupboard, everything else was great Be mindful once you are at the property your leaving instructions will include stripping the beds which is not mentioned anywhere when you book

The lodge was very clean and had everything you needed. All the rooms were nice and spacious with comfy beds! Great location!

Our second time staying at Brambles Lodge and we’ll definitely be back again.

Bonus was the weather which was beautiful this time and allowed us to take full advantage of opening the bifold doors fully enjoying the outside space and listening to the river.

We had an amazing stay at the Brambles - great location so close to so many amazing walks.

Facilities were perfect the owners had thought of everything, even down to an amazing book, full of recommendations and maps for walks - this is very helpful and made for a more enjoyable stay. We have already recommended and will definitely be making a returned journey. Thank you

We had a terrific stay in Brambles at Wateredge Mill Lodges.

Its admirable the great care that has been taken by the owners to create a holiday park in Low Wood that is sensitive to nature and the history of the area. The lodge was bright, airy, comfortable, well equipped and in a beautiful peaceful spot. Without a doubt one of the best holiday accommodations we've stayed in. When back in the Lake District we'll not hesitate to book Brambles again.

The lodge was clean, welcoming and comfortable. In a peaceful, relaxing setting and well placed for exploring the lakes or the nearby coast. Just what was needed. Would recommend.

We loved everything about this beautiful property.

It has been so well considered. Bravo!! The only things (and they are tiny things) missing were a bottle stopper, a little tray for the hand soap which had to just sit on the bathroom sink and a TV in the bedroom. Not everyone would like that I suppose but we go to bed early and it would have been lovely to lie and watch TV for a bit. The location is idyllic and a perfect base to explore the lakes. The local pub is lovely and food is good. The steam train and boat ride on the door step was brilliant! Everything was perfect. Thank you!!!!

Wonderful property, light, airy and spacious.

Very warm and comfortable. All the comforts of home. Location was perfect, away from the crowds and idyllic. Peaceful, quiet and very accessible. Owner was easy to contact if needed and very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely go back for a return stay!

Great views,very quiet relaxing surroundings. Not far from amenities. Would recommend this accomodation very highly. Would recommend trip to Buddhist temple in ulverston, also Haverthwaite and lakeside railway excellent days out

The lodge was beautiful and very clean.

It was lovely and quiet on the park. We had a lovely 2 night break we will definitely come back. Our two small dogs loved it too. They sat watching pheasants all evening through the glass doors! Thank you

There are so many fantastic things about this place: the location, the history, the high standards of the lodge, the welcome gifts the list goes on.

Lovely getaway I highly recommend this lodge, which is situated in a peaceful location away from the city madness.

It was a truly relaxing experience. The grounds were beauitful with a lovely lake. The lodge was very cosy, comfortable, warm and homely. The kitchen was well equipment, very organised with great appliances. It was easy to make food as there was a good range of cooking equipment. Thank you to Sarah and her family for the lovely card, dog treats, cake and prosecco which was a very kind gesture. You have done a wonderful job in creating a stunning lodge. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stunning lodge.

The lodge had everything you needed from coffee machine to washing machine. The fittings and furnishings were five star. The standard was home from home rather than a holiday lodge. The only thing lacking was empty cupboard space for own groceries. The attend to detail was second to none and the information pack was meticulously presented. We will definitely be staying again.

What a lovely place to stay !

The thought that has gone into the development of this site on which the lodges are found is superb. So nice to walk around the place with our dog and look at the old buildings which remain from the sites former life many years ago whilst being surrounded by nature and the sound of running water from the nearby river The lodge itself had everything we needed and was absolutely immaculate. Ideally placed for exploring the lakes All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely look to book again on our next visit to the Lake District Jon Bridget and Nelly the springer spaniel

Fabulous lodge, modern comfortable luxurious the owners have fully equipped the lodge and is very comfortable home from home.

Location is great for southern Lake District great bolt hole to explore from and just as good to come back to ( nice glass of wine) Couldn’t fault it at all 5⭐️
