A lovely little converted workshop not far from Whitehaven.

The place is nicely decorated, with twinkling lights both inside and out. And it comes with everything you need, including some nice little treats. It is surrounded ny fields and coming with its own history, this is a nice quiet place to relax and unwnd. Or serves as a good jumping off point for exploring the sights and locations of the beautiful Lake District with plenty of lakes, walks and waterfalls in the area to see and experience. The mezanine bed is very comfortable, though if like me you have a fear of heights, maybe not for you:) When I say that this place is small, I mean this place is tiny. Which brings me to my one negative about the place, the size of the living room and kitchen area was fine for me on my own and possibly a second person. But the bathroom is incredibly tiny and cramped. I am not a small person, thankfully I have lost a bit of weight in the past few years. The area around the sink and in the shower is very limited, so if you are a bigger person, this place might not be ideal for you. I got to speak to Carol after her dogs came running over to say hello as I was leaving and she explained that she was trying to get Sykes to add that to the description of the property. So hopefully me putting this here will help people be more informed. But if that little thing doesn't put you off, then I highly recommend High Wreah Bolt Hole.

This was a perfect getaway for me.

I booked so I could work on my writing, and it was just right. It's small, but perfectly planned out with everything I needed for my week. The information provided beforehand was detailed and accurate, so I knew what to expect from this quirky little property. The bed might be up a ladder on a mezzanine, but it's incredibly comfortable! The owner (Carol) is really helpful and accommodating. When she knew I had a head cold and no transport, she checked to see if I needed anything, which I really appreciated. I really hope I'm able to come back for another stay soon.
