Brocklebank Lodge 35 is a charming, single-storey lodge situated on the outskirts of High Hesket, near Armathwaite, Cumbria.
It is located in the beautiful Eden Valley, offering easy access to the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines, as well as the cathedral city of Carlisle and the market town of Penrith.
With stunning countryside views and surrounded by the peace and tranquillity of Cumbria’s countryside, Brocklebank Lodge offers a very spacious and open-plan interior with two bedrooms as well as outdoor decking and garden area, with off-road parking for two cars, this retreat is perfect for couples, small families or friends looking to make the most of all Cumbria and the surrounding areas have to offer.
Upon entering this contemporary and stylish lodge, you will be greeted by a bright open-plan area, housing a well-equipped kitchen with a range of appliances and utensils, everything you need to make this your home from home, enabling you to prepare and enjoy mealtimes together.
The adjacent dining area has a table with seating for four, perfect for enjoying those cooked meals or takeaways, or for planning the day's adventures over a drink.
The homely sitting room, complete with a warming electric fire and Smart TV, offers an inviting space to unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding areas of Cumbria or to simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, a range of board games and books are provided for your enjoyment.
The property boasts two inviting bedrooms; a king-size room featuring an en-suite walk-in shower and plenty of storage in the walk-in wardrobe, as well as a Smart TV for those early nights or late mornings.
The twin room also features a second walk-in wardrobe with ample storage and hanging space.
Both bedrooms offer a tranquil and peaceful setting for a rejuvenating night's rest.
A separate bathroom fitted with a bath, shower over, basin, and WC, serves the twin room, the choice of a bath or shower ideal on returning to the Lodge after a day exploring.
Step outside onto the wraparound decking, furnished for your comfort, and soak up the sunshine and tranquil countryside views with a morning coffee or watch the sunset and stars across the night sky with your evening drink.
A dining table and chairs are by the property for al-fresco dining, so enjoy a light meal and a glass of tipple or make use of the Ninja electric BBQ to get the most of the outdoors, loungers are also provided to allow you to sit back and relax or enjoy a good book.
Brocklebank Lodge is ideally placed to make the most of all this wonderful area has to offer, the nearby village of Armathwaite offers a small village shop and post office, as well as two excellent pubs, Dukes Head Inn and Fox and Pheasant Inn, both serving a range of food and local drinks, the River Eden runs through the village and offers walks alongside and into the nearby Coombs Wood, the local train station is a stop on the scenic Carlisle to Settle line.
The Eden Valley is a real hidden gem, lying with the Pennines to the east and the Lake District Fells to the west, to the south are the peaceful Howgill Fells, a favourite of Wainwright, the River Eden runs through the valley, a mix of lush green countryside, traditional towns and attractive sandstone villages, with a rich history including the standing stones of Long Meg and her Daughters, dating back to around 1,500BC.
The historic cathedral city of Carlisle is just a short drive away, and offers shopping as well as many varied food outlets, restaurants and pubs, history abounds, with a visit to the cathedral, the Castle and the Tullie House Museum all well worth exploring, family entertainment can be found with a multiscreen cinema (Vue), bowling alley (Hollywood Bowl), multigame indoor complex (Game On), escape rooms (Red Herring Escape Rooms) and a number of outdoor parks.
Penrith is a welcoming market town, its historic centre is home to many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants where you can stroll around the charming, cobbled streets or clamber to the top of Penrith Beacon for unrivalled panoramic views, alternatively, explore the beauty within Thacka Beck Nature Reserve, a haven for nature and wildlife, an oasis of calm within this bustling town, Rheged is a gallery, café, cinema and shopping venue on the outskirts of Penrith, a place to share a meal or drink, watch a film or see an exhibition, as well as exploring the local craft and food shops.
The magnificent Lake District is easily accessible via a short drive or public transport, the tourist town of Keswick with its theatre on the shore of Derwentwater is not to be missed, there are many National Trust sites including Acorn Bank, Aira Force and many car parks for access to the lakes and fells, tick off some of the Wainwright Fells, go Paddleboarding at nearby Ullswater, admire Surprise View and Ashness Bridge or relax with a leisurely stroll and a stop at one of the many tea shops, the possibilities are endless!
A little further afield explore the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall, built to guard the wild north-west frontier of the Roman Empire, discover the remains of forts and towns that once kept watch over the Wall whilst taking in the dramatic and rugged landscape.

Perfect!
! As a returning customer, all I can say is that this lodge was and still is exceptional. So well looked after, it is a real home away from home. The warm welcome as you walk in the door; the lodge has everything you could possibly need to make it a comfortable stay. A spacious lounge, a well-kitted-out kitchen, 2 good-sized bedrooms with comfy beds and walk-in wardrobes and a couple of bathrooms- you want for nothing! Sited on a lovely, small, quiet lodge park and only a short drive to Penrith or Carlisle, you are close enough to the shops and restaurants if required. We loved every moment of staying here, and we will be back again very soon.

Amazing accommodation, this lodge blew us away with how fantastic it had everything, Comfort, Home from Home, Peaceful.
Also thankyou to Steve and Susanna for the welcome pack on arrival, enjoyed yummy. great location, we managed to visit, the lakes, Carlisle, Keswick, Kendal, Edinburgh, Blackpool, Morecombe, and Hadrians wall, and Gretna Green. Awesome holiday.
