A few housekeeping details were missed before our arrival: The Kitchen: The cooker top was not clean, there were food crumbs in the cutlery drawers, and the previous guests' food was left in the cupboard instead of being binned.

Outdoors: The patio needed a good sweep and the patio table was quite dirty which I had to clean. Maintenance: The wallpaper is starting to peel in the en-suite toilet. I also wanted to gently mention the request for guests to strip the beds and place linen in the bath. Since guests pay a premium for a luxury cabin stay, this is usually seen as housekeeping's responsibility and can feel a bit off-putting to visitors, especially when the initial clean felt a bit rushed. On a positive note, you advertise the lodge as a 3-bedroom, but it actually has 4 bedrooms! You are missing a trick here, as you could easily market it as a 4-bedroom property and command a higher price point. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful lodge with us. A lovely lodge with all amenities a beautiful setting on the lake thoroughly enjoyed our stay there the only improvements I would say is some sun cover and a couple of lounges otherwise a perfect holiday.

Just returned from another stay in this lovely lodge.

Beautiful position on the lake side. Everything you could ask for in this well equipped comfortable lodge. As there was just the 2 of us and we only used one bed it was very comfortable and am sure all the other beds would be just the same. It is a great place to stay with plenty of places to visit. Silverdsale and Arnside are well worth a short trip and the cafe at Holgates caravan park do some lovely food. Kendal and the lakes are not far away and a visit to Morecambe is less than 30 minutes drive. All in all we had a great week and we hope to return soon. Kath and Keith

The listing states this is both 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom, I can confirm it has 4 bedrooms (2 of which are twin beds).

Directions were accurate and the instructions for access were sent a few days ahead of our visit. The accommodation was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. It's at the edge of the lake so has a wonderful view across the water. The busy A6 road runs past the site but is fortunately across the other side of the park so there wasn't a problem with traffic noise. The park it is sited on is clean and unspoilt (don't expect slot machines, etc), there is a small swimming pool and gym which you can pay to use. We were there over the Christmas period and it was very peaceful and relaxing. Would use again!

Lovely spacious lakeside property with excellent maintenance team.

Lost the electricity but had 3 visits in 10 mins by very friendly staff and all sorted. Pool and bar food really good again with helpful and cheery staff. The only real area for improvement is the reeds need cutting back at the fishing/boat platform but I assume we are late in the season and this will be addressed over the winter period. Overall a fantastic place to stay.

Lovely lodge, perfect location, peaceful and restful.

The bonus was having it's own private jetty - which my daughter took full advantage of with her paddleboard. Would definately return to this lodge.

This was a most enjoyable stay.

The lodge was so comfortable and nothing was lacking in the way of equipment. It's in a perfect location and so peaceful and restful, which was much needed. The only problem we had was that the water kept going off after a couple of hours, but once we sussed out what to do, it was fine! There was absolutely nothing not to like about the lodge and it's location. We would certainly love to stay there again!

The property was very clean and comfortable.

The facilities supplied were ample for our stay. We looked for the name on the chalet but it was not there. We had to go by the chalet number and the key case combination but all was fine. We would have no hesitation booking again. If I were to make one comment it woud be " why should the outgoing persons strip the beds. I feel strongly that after paying for the holiday we are expected to do the caretakers job. I would like to say that the caretaker wsa very helpful prior nto our arrival.

Excellent accommodation well equipped Lodge sited in a great spot at the lake with a beautiful view of almost all of the lake Shame about the weather.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Elim.

The lodge is well equipped and there are good supermarkets a short drive away. Pool facilities were an added bonus, a little expensive for a family but we'll worth it. We will return.

This was our second trip to this property and again we weren’t disappointed.

The lodge is clean, tidy and spacious enough for 6 people with a lovely decked patio area. Initial access to the park and lodge key is simple enough with the provided instructions. We experienced no problems throughout our stay however upon leaving the lodge my son realised he’d left his electric toothbrush behind but unfortunately this could not be found following our departure. Would certainly stop here again!

beautiful lodge, kept to a high standard, perfect spot, just dissapointed that leisure facilities are not included, would have like to gone more than once but it would have made it expensive especially if you have children

It was a really enjoyable week and the lodge was superb - well equipped and very comfortable.

It was a great base for exploring the area. Despite staying in February the heating kept the lodge warm and there was no need to supplement with the electric heater. The lodge was spacious and easily accommodated four adults and two infants, helped by the number of cloakrooms/washrooms and being able to use the spare bedroom for storage. A name plaque by the door would have been helpful.

Absolutely brilliant had a amazing couple of days in this lodge and enjoyed every minute of it the weather made it even better perfect for a little getaway hopefully can book again next year the inside of the cabin is immaculate and the decking is amazing over looking the lake

Immaculately clean, comfy beds, great kitchen with everything you need, plenty of room for everyone Great places to visit close by. Aldi and Booths just down the road.

Wonderful holiday lodge over loooking the lake.

Very well maintained with everything we needed. Comfortable and warm, it was -4º a couple of nights that we were there but we never noticed. All in all, first class.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin.

Out of this world. Couldn’t have asked for more. Everything you could need was already in there. Very child friendly with games and every channel you could think of on the tv. The only small down fall which was nothing to do with the canon was the lack of things for kids to do on the actual site. Thank you.

The lodge was perfect, nice, new and very clean.

Great facilities having a washing machine was a huge bonus. The only think I would recommend would be a welcome basket with few goodies always had at previous rentals and it's a lovely touch. Also more information in the folder regards housekeeping, laundry upon leaving would be a great idea too! Thanks for accommodating us we had a great time and will be back!

Great location for visting local attractions.

Lodge was of a high standard. Great access to the lake. Lots of memories made on the lake with the family. Enjoyed our stay would come again if stayed an 8 berth. Highly recommend.

A beautifully maintained property with a perfect range of equipment which made for a perfect self catering holiday.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE!

An amazing stay at Elim, a wonderful holiday home with a beautiful view over the lake. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and stocked with everything that we could possibly need for our stay. There were 4 adults and 3 children in our party and there was lots of space for us all, the balcony was well used and so was the lake! So much fun!! I would recommend Elim to everyone and if we come back to The Lakes then we’ll be back! 5 stars

When we had a problem with the hot water, everyone was very helpful and it didn't stop us from enjoying our holiday in the Lake District.

The site was very clean and the staff helpful. The pool was warm. Elim was very comfortable with everything you could think of.

We recently spent a week in the ‘Elim’ (July 10-17) and it was superb.

This was our third visit to South Lakeland in Five years, our previous two lodges being ‘Platinum’ category on the opposite side of the Lake, although top class lodges The Elim is in a class of its own. Our two Grandsons (13 & 8) were in awe of the place and when their parents arrived for the weekend they all spent most of the time on the lake with their kayaks and paddle boards. A thoroughly enjoyable week was had by all of us and if and when we return to South Lakeland it will certainly be back at the Elim. I had to contact Sykes regarding a problem with the key safe, Sykes put me in touch with the owner and he was a pleasure to deal with. Apparently the cleaners did not close it properly and it appeared jammed however after my eight year old grandson gave it a bit of a wallop it closed and was able to open with the code. The owner text me when we were home to advise that he had replaced the key safe. Five star communication.***** Bill Hood

We had a fantastic holiday in this luxurious spacious lodge, fantastic view of the lake and the ducks as well as being in a good location for visiting Lancashire and Lake District cities/town.

The leisure village was very peaceful and relaxing. We would book this accommodation in the future if it was to remain as an 8 birth accommodation.

The property was lovely & clean & decorated to a high standard.

It was very comfortable & all mod cons required were provided. Would definitely recommend this lodge.

a very nice lodge in a lovely setting good location to visit local attractions the only downside i can comment on was there were a few ants in the lodge so maybe that could be looked in to but did not spoil our stay regards george

Elim is the most beautiful lodge situated on the lake at South Lakeland.

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable weeks break with our family over Easter. The lodge is of a very high standard, catering to all of your needs including large tv, four bedrooms, three toilets and two showers. The spec is to a very high standard if not brand new. We enjoyed many nights sitting out on the decking relaxing on the outdoor seating overlooking the lake. The site itself is excellent for families. The leisure club is less than a minutes walk which offers a swimming pool, gym, exercise classes and a spa. All of which we took advantage of during our stay. The on site restaurant and bar was excellent and we enjoyed a family meal which was delicious. We loved the lakeside sand area and our boys played happily on several occasions whilst we relaxed on the outdoor seating area. The lake itself is a fantastic walk, we walked and took our sons around the lake on their scooters daily and fed the ducks. Communication with the owner was excellent and any queries were responded to without delay. We had the most relaxing trip to Elim, the best week away in England we have had in comparison to other family holidays. Close by there is so much to do; we enjoyed visiting Greenlands farm, Levens hall and park, Milnthorpe, Brockhole on Windermere and Bowness on Windermere. There are so many great pubs and restaurants nearby and a local Tesco or Aldi just a few minutes away. The perfect place for a family break, we can’t wait to re-visit soon x

Warm , comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. We loved the pool , the gym and the restaurant . Helpful pleasant staff everywhere on site.
