    “AVOID AVOID left two days early Plenty of lodges to rent on site even directly Finding out the oven never worked from a previous review.”

    Said it would be fixed Sunday then Monday then Tuesday then two days before we were due to leave so fed up of lies his car broke down could not get a lift , could not even hire a car . Lots of food wasted Go elsewhere,

Lakeside 12 is a charming, two-bedroom lodge tucked away on the popular South Lakeland Holiday Village in Carnforth, Lancashire.

Enjoying a fabulous setting with views over the lake and within easy reach of the Lake District National Park, Lakeside 12 is a fabulous pet-friendly choice for couples or a family of four.

The property benefits from off-road parking for two cars, a private decked area with furniture, and access to the site’s excellent facilities, including fishing, a gym, indoor swimming pool, and bar and restaurant.

Inside, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up tasty dishes ready to savour at the dining table as you recount the days adventures.

Continue through to find a well-appointed bathroom, where you can indulge in a leisurely soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower.

When sleep calls, two beautifully presented bedrooms await, a double with en-suite shower room and a twin, both with gorgeous feature walls and plenty of storage.

Head into Carnforth for your local amenities, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at The County Lodge & Brasserie, Taps on the Green, The Canal Turn and fresh fish and chips from Highfield Fisheries, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, and tour the Carnforth Railway Heritage Centre, well-known for its appearance in the film, A Brief Encounter.

Capernwray rests nearby, where you can explore the waters depth at the Capernwray Diving Centre and indulge in a sweet treat at The New England Tearoom & Shop, or venture further to the Arnside & Silverdale AONB, where you’ll find beautiful beaches, the Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve and the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis.

Further afield, you’ll find the Lake District National Park, where you can enjoy scenic hikes, bike rides and climbing fells, watersports on the famous Lake Windermere, a fascinating 2nd-century Roman Fort at Ambleside, and tour the former home of William Wordsworth in Grasmere.

CARNFORTH

Capernwray 2.4 miles; Lake District National Park 11.6 miles.

Located just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the scenic Lake District, Carnforth is the sort of place that everyone has heard of, and many desire to discover this hidden gem. Situated at the north end of Morecambe Bay, north of the historic town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and a hop and a skip from the Lake District, it is close to absolutely everywhere! Other local attractions include Greenlands Farm Village for crafts, local produce, a play area, café and a garden centre. The lovely area just north of Carnforth has tidal sands bordering the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay. It offers plenty of pleasant walks and opportunity to see local birds and wildlife in this fabulous area of Lancashire. Don't forget to visit the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
