The property

Perched within the popular South Lakeland Village site on the outskirts of Carnforth, Cumbria, is this lovely and spacious lodge, Mallard Lodge.

Enjoying a fantastic location within easy reach of the Lake District National Park, and access to a wealth of on-site facilities, including a bar/restaurant, gym, fishing, beauty spa, play areas, and an indoor heated swimming pool, Mallard Lodge is a fantastic choice for couples or a family of four.

The property benefits from two off-road parking spaces, as well as a private decked area with furniture, ideal for alfresco dining with stunning views of the lake.

Be welcomed into the contemporary open-plan living space, where you will find a fully-equipped kitchen for rustling up you favourite dishes, ready to savour at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine, and an inviting sitting area, complete with plush sofas, an electric fire and a Smart TV, perfect for evenings spent relaxing with loved ones.

Continue through to the well-appointed bathroom, where you can freshen up with your choice of bath or under the overhead shower, before discovering two beautifully decorated double bedrooms, both with their own TV, and one with walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room.

If you can tear yourself away, head into Carnforth, where you can visit the Carnforth Railway Heritage Centre, famed for its appearance in the film ‘A Brief Encounter’, take a dip in the Carnforth Swimming Pool, treat your loved ones to a hearty meal at The County Lodge & Brasserie, sample local ales at Taps On The Green, or stock up on essentials at the convenience store.

Next stop is Capernwray, where you can explore the waters depths at the Capernwray Diving Centre, sample a sweet treat at the Capernwray Diving Centre, soak up the exceptional views from the Gamekeeper’s Tower, or hook your catch of the day at Clearwater Fisheries.

CARNFORTH

Capernwray 2.4 miles; Lake District National Park 11.6 miles.

Located just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the scenic Lake District, Carnforth is the sort of place that everyone has heard of, and many desire to discover this hidden gem. Situated at the north end of Morecambe Bay, north of the historic town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and a hop and a skip from the Lake District, it is close to absolutely everywhere! Other local attractions include Greenlands Farm Village for crafts, local produce, a play area, café and a garden centre. The lovely area just north of Carnforth has tidal sands bordering the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay. It offers plenty of pleasant walks and opportunity to see local birds and wildlife in this fabulous area of Lancashire. Don't forget to visit the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
