The lodge was perfect, we were celebrating a family birthday so it was in a lovely setting with lovely views over Penrith and the countryside from the terrace.

Askam and Pooley Bridge were only a few miles away. Would book again another time. Tom and Val

It was finished to a high standard and was very comfortable. The information was comprehensive and everything seemed to have been thought of. It was a lovely quiet location. We had a lovely visit.

Clean and comfortable and it was our pleasure to stay these few days. Restful and remote enough to enjoy nature and privacy. We would like to come back and explore Cumbria to a greater extent than time and the weather permitted. Top marks!! Peter and Heather Doherty and our two sons

Lovely views.

Good size. Well equipped kitchen/utility. Large dining table. Could do with more lounge seating for number of people. Clean good bathrooms. Comfy beds. Nice veranda and garden area. Little inconvenient the door didn’t close on main bathroom as this was shared between 2 couples. Could have been embarrassing. Apologies for a couple of glass breakages, one happened in dishwasher and one was accidentally knocked off kitchen top. Had lovely weather and enjoyed the stay.

Excellent standard of accommodation, with great views of the mountains in the distance.

Located really well to travel across the Lake District and not too far from the Yorkshire Dales. The Lodge has all the modern facilities making it great for a family stay or group of friends. Will reconsider staying at again, when we're next visiting the Lake District.

The accommodation was as described and very comfortable.

The location is perfect for walking and very peaceful. We would definitely stay again if visiting this part of the Lakes. Also the EV charger didn't work, the challenge was contacting the owner, I couldn't download the app and when I used a phone number provided there was a delay. I then found an alternative number and got a fast response from the owner. Other than this, everything was perfect.

It was a great lodge in a great location.

The lodge itself was clean, comfortable, warm and had good facilities. Things that would make it better: More surfaces in the bathrooms for toiletries. A bigger frying pan (enough to cook meals for 5/6 people. The back double room does suffer the noise of the generator (a problem for some) but I am not sure what you can do about it. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend to others.

The accommodation is in a quiet lovely location.

It allows excellent access to many enjoyable walks. Ian has suggested some of his favourite walks. The accommodation is extremely well equipped and comfortable. It has been one of my favourite holiday rentals and I will book again for future holidays.

We had a lovely few days at Greengarth.

We would definitely stay again. We couldn't fault a thing. The kitchen was especially well equipped - they had thought of everything, and then some.

Absolutely perfect.

When visiting the family 2-3 times a year, this will be our new base. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us, and it was nice to stay somewhere that pets have not stayed, as 2 of us are allergic to dogs. Very peaceful location. All you can hear are the birds and the sheep. Loved the fly screens (would be fantastic if the owner could email me where to buy these?!!) The kitchen has absolutely everything we needed for cooking a big roast and other meals too. The utility room was perfect. Both bathrooms were excellent, and all the beds and pillows were very comfy. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay, and we will definitely be back :)

Beautiful lodge, well appointed, luxurious Egyptian cotton towels (I used to be a textiles buyer).

Garden didn't seem as big as the picture, lodges a bit closer together than I expected. Very wide range of kitchen equipment, but I couldn't find a teapot or a bread bin. Struggled a lot with the EV charger, supplier helpful but couldn't get it over the line. Rather than waste time in my short break I just plumped for charging up at Rheged, quite close and easy to use while I shopped and had a snack. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay.

We spent 6 wonderful nights at Greengarth Lodge over Xmas.

The property had recently been completely renovated with an ensuite walk-in shower room to the main bedroom and a separate bathroom with overhead shower for the 2 other generous sized bedrooms. As I like to cook, the fitted kitchen was a bonus! It was well-stocked with everything you would need in terms of glassware, dinnerware, cutlery and cooking equipment, plus some basic staple foodstuff. I loved the Bora induction hob and the split level Neff oven. Being Xmas week it was to nice to find a substantial sized fridge/freezer as well as a wine fridge. The area was open plan, bright, and felt very sociable. There was even a well-equipped utility room with an extra sink, individual washer and dryer. Every single room and space was so well thought out with no shortage of storage space. The property was powered by an air source heat pump for the underfloor heating and solar panels on the roof. It had also been refurbished with porcelain tiling through-out, and being a lodge we were concerned it may have not been warm enough. Far from it, the lodge was exceedingly cosy. We walked around in bare or stocking feet the whole time. My only request to the owner would be brighter lighting in the rear 'quarry' bedroom! The views from the large picture windows across Glendowlin valley were a delight. We'd definitely recommend Greengarth Lodge to our friends and family. A nice touch was the sparkling wine left for us by the owners.

We had a very relaxing stay at the lodge.

This was a stop over on our way to our trip to Scotland. We decided to stay for a few nights to chill before our trip, the lodge certainly helped with this. The lodge was warm and very comfortable. If you wanted to cook, (which we didnt) the kitchen seemed to have plenty of everything, from glasses, pans etc. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the terrace with a lovely view. My husband enjoyed the bath, a long time sine he can actually stretch out without his knees sticking out of the water! The lodge was spotless and with fluffy towels. A lot of thought has gone in to ensure you have everything you need. The only negative is the lamp on the dressing table, too dark to apply make up or style hair. We will definitely be staying again.

Fantastic place we had an amazing time.

Everything was perfect and the beds were so comfy slept like a baby. Peaceful and quiet had no issues with noise etc. even the neighbours were quiet think we was the loudest ones there haha. But in general was a fancy place to stay in. Will definitely stay here again and also I recommend other people to go and stay you won't regret it.

Peaceful and beautiful location.

Property has been refurbished to a high standard. Facilities were great including a washing machine and dryer, walk in shower in the ensuite as well as a bath in the main bathroom. Large property with plenty of space. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating to relax after a day hiking, a definite home from home. We will definitely be returning. We highly recommend this property, great for families.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge.

Very comfortable and well equipped. We loved the position and the beautiful views from the veranda. Things that would have been useful were none stick pans. Breakfast stuck to the pans that were there and took a lot of soaking and scrubbing to get clean! The elderly members of our party had trouble getting in and out of the bath as it’s very high so something to think about. Overall a wonderful stay!

The facility was clean and tidy. Only minor fault was where settles on the ledge of the beds but generally clean, tidy and comfortable . Our children loved the rocking chair

Fabulous property and extremely comfortable.

Property states no pets but laminated leaflet states. 'Thank you for bringing your dogs? Owner states definitely no pets? This information obviously generated by Sykes Cottages. Owners provide eco detergent but only 1 dishwasher tablet and no supplies for washing machine. Surely this is Sykes responsibility. Would definitely use lodge again but feel that Sykes need to up their game.

This place is a gem and hopefully we`ll be coming back so quiet peaceful and near everything you could want !
