    “The spot is gorgeous, very quiet, and just what you need to get away from it all.”

    40 min drive to windermere, 25 mins to penrith. The caravan isn't a posh plush thing, but it had everything we needed, towels and bedding were clean and fresh, good sized fridge if you were staying any length of time and needed to stock up, think it is probably due a good top to bottom clean as I expect it's been well used this year and perhaps the time is better spent with the owners animals, we had a lovely sunset and sunrise ever day, sheep in the fields as soon as we opened the curtains ...

It was lovely. The garden was fenced off and our rotty loved it, she was inquisitive of the animals but never barked once she would have probably played with the goats in fact , we would visit again and we don't ever usually go back as we like to Try new places but it was just a rest from the boring normal , ooh and we had a lovely cake provided in arrival too, tea coffee etc.

Tucked away among the peaceful grounds of the owners home, on the outskirts of the pint-sized village of Warcop, rests this delightful holiday home, Row End farm.

Set across one level and framing tranquil views across the surrounding farmyard, Row End farm is idyllically positioned for a small family or group of friends seeking a rural retreat.

Park up on your private driveway before climbing a handful of wooden steps to the wrap-around decked area; a lovely spot to indulge in a hearty breakfast or soak in the last of the evening sun as the charming farmyard animals graze in the surrounding fields.

Stepping inside, be welcomed into the open-plan living space, sure to be the social hub of the space, where you can look forward to kicking off your muddy boots and warming your toes in front of the electric fire following a day of adventure.

When stomachs start to rumble, make use of the fantastic facilities provided in the kitchen to rustle up some tasty treats, and gather together with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to recount the days adventures as you indulge.

As the evening grows darker, retire for the evening to one of two well-presented bedrooms, with the choice between a twin or a double, each positioned at opposite ends of the holiday home for those who prefer their privacy.

In the morning, kick-start your day with a revitalizing rinse before joining your guests out on the decking to plan the days itinerary over a steaming cup of coffee.

Lace up your walking boots and take advantage of your close proximity to the North Pennines, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where the scenic moorland offers a plethora of walking, cycling and hiking routes to suit a range of abilities, including the hike to the summit of Murton Pike and less strenuous South Tyne Trail, following the disused Haltwhistle railway.

After working up an appetite, treat your loved ones to a bite to eat at the nearby pub, the Sandford Arms, or for a wider variety, jump in the car and journey to the nearby town of Brough, where you can soak in the sights alongside the banks of Swindale Beck with a scoop form Brough Castle Ice Cream Parlour, or enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal at The Inn at Brough.

Kirkby Stephen 4 miles; Appleby-in-Westmorland 8 miles.

Brough is a small town located in the Eden Valley, at the foot of the North Pennines, just four miles north of Kirkby Stephen and eight miles east of Appleby-in-Westmorland. It is a twin village, the southern part, Church Brough, lies on a former Roman road and was the setting for the Norman Brough Castle (once the site of a Roman camp), while the northern area, Market Brough, is sited on a medieval road. The difference in the two villages relates to the functions they once served; Church Brough’s houses stand around a market square decorated with a maypole, while Market Brough boasts a wide and long main street. The village’s claim to fame lies in its 18th-19th century importance as a coaching town for the England-Scotland run, where more than 10 inns catered to the stagecoach trade. A beautiful sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows and picturesque pastures and fells. Nearby, the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, once home to cotton mills and a large manufacturer of shoes and woollen hats, today hosts a variety of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs for every taste and budget.
