Ballinorig Lodge
Description
Ballinorig Lodge is a detached, wooden lodge nestled on the outskirts of Cleator Moor, Cumbria.
Boasting an open-plan living space, views to the hills and a private decked area with hot tub and barbecue, Ballinorig Lodge provides a sanctuary for couples and families seeking a stay in this region of Cumbria.
Upon arrival, park up directly outside the lodge and unload your belongings and start getting to know this charming bolthole.
Greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, you’ll find the open-plan living area the perfect place to relax after a day spent exploring the local area.
Settle down on one of the sofas and enjoy a movie night on the Smart TV, or gather around the woodburning stove for some quality family time.
The kitchen comes equipped with all the necessary amenities for those wishing to cook up a storm, with a dining table and a breakfast bar is where these meals can be enjoyed.
Freshen up in the shower room before heading outside for a dip in the hot tub, just a few steps away or venture to the private log cabin and light up the fire and barbecue for a cosy evening roasting marshmallows.
As you look to call it a day, there are two tastefully presented bedrooms to choose from, including a king-size and a double, served by a gleaming shower room.
Explore the local village of Cleator Moor, offering a convenience store for the essentials, The Crown Pub to sample ales and a selection of takeaways if you fancy something quick.
Take a short drive up the coast to Whitehaven, a picturesque market town with a charming harbour, where you can uncover a selection of shops, eateries and pubs.
Visit the Jennings Brewery for a tour of the brewery and a taste of their local ales, or explore the Rum Story, both ideal for a day trip.
Further afield, you’ll find the historic town of Cockermouth, home to Wordsworth House, the birthplace of the celebrated Romantic poet; or why not explore the largest lake in the Lake District, Bassenthwaite, a beautiful body of water and tranquil spot to take in some of the most stunning views in the area.
No matter the season, a stay at Ballinorig Lodge is perfect for those seeking relaxation.

What guests are saying
We had a delightful few days at Ballinorig lodge.
. It was clean and spacious and very relaxing. David and Carol were very welcoming and there were lots of nice touches which added to the experience. The hot tub was a real treat after days of walking and made the stay that bit more luxurious. A lot of effort and imagination has gone into creating the lodge and we would happily visit again.
A lovely property, we particularly enjoyed the hot tub and barbeque hut.
The lodge had everything we needed and was very comfortable and cosy.
Well maintained lodge & lots of thoughtful little things available for use eg charger cables & adapters, spare batteries etc.
Very comfortable & lovely location - private & peaceful. Owners David & Carol very welcoming & friendly but not intrusive - perfect hosts!
