We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful log cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our time.

The cabin was exceptionally clean, spacious, bright, and comfortable, with a great location that made it an ideal place to relax and unwind.The decking area was a real highlight and the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. Our hosts, Nick and Marolyn were incredibly welcoming and regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was okay, which was very much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this log cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable getaway. We would definitely love to return.

Excellent accommodation, clean and comfortable.

Close to all amenities. Everything was as advertised. Happy to book again when next in the Lake district.

Being a family of three plus a dog, we booked 8 Waterside Wood for a relaxing break in good accommodation.

This lodge did not disappoint. The Lodge was quite beautiful inside with plenty of space and all the comforts of a home from home. The rap around deck with ample seating/dining options was lovely for us and being fully secured was a real bonus for our dog. White Cross Bay and Windermere are stunning. We had a wonderful stay. Nick and Marilyn were super helpful with information and very welcoming. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We will definitely be booking 8 Waterside Wood again!

This is a beautiful lodge in a good location Everything is provided down to the smallest item.

This was our first stay in the lodges, it will not be our last, first class accommodation, great facilities for the kids,we enjoyed the outdoor bar, the swimming and the staff couldn’t not have done more, so helpful, first time being here and already about to book again for this year, great communication when I booked and made every step of the way easy!

Beautifully maintained lodge.

There was a huge amount of attention paid to the finer details that made this lodge a home from home. We have stayed on White Cross Bay in many different lodges over the last 18 years and this far surpasses all others. Communication from the owners was second to none- when the NYE function was cancelled, the owners knew we had tickets and not only emailed but called to make sure we’d seen the email. We all felt this was above and beyond any responsibility of the owners, especially when most likely they were on their own down time over Christmas. The lodge was spotlessly cleaned and we wanted for nothing. Slightly more expensive than other lodge we’ve stayed in but honestly, they could have charged much more and it would still be good value for how lovely a place to stay it was. Thank you

what a lovely lodge to stay in the owners were very helpful the lodge is decorated beautiful and hats off to the cleaning lady it was spotless would highly recommend a holiday here we will be back soon we have stayed on a few lodges on this site but this one is by far the best one.

Very comfortable and well equipped

Our family had an amazing time in 8 Waterside Wood.

Perfect for a family getaway. The lodge was well equipped with everything you could possibly need, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The wrap around decking was also ideal, especially for our puppy. The host kept in touch with us to ensure our stay went smoothly, a nice touch.

Pity the weather was so bad we couldn't make use of the superb outside space. Great food at the on site restaurant too.

Absolutely Gorgeous Property.

Luxury at its best. Spotlessly clean and a real homely feel to it. Lodge set perfectly in the park with a two minute stroll down to the waters edge. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. The whole lodge was perfectly equipped. Our two dogs loved the decking which was huge. Marolyn and Nick were there to greet us and kept us in touch with what was going on in the area. Thank you Marilyn and Nick for making our stay perfect.

The lodge itself was brilliant – modern, spotless, and equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need for a week away. There was loads of outside seating, which made it perfect for enjoying the sunshine. We’ve been to this holiday park three times now, and without doubt this was by far the best lodge we’ve stayed in. The location was ideal – set just out of the woods so it catches the sun beautifully, and only a short stroll to the water. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They checked in the week before with lots of useful information, then again on our first day to make sure everything was running smoothly. That extra touch made the whole experience even better. Overall, a brilliant holiday. We would highly recommend this lodge and will 100% be returning next year!

Gorgeous spacious lodge with all the amenities you need!

Lovely decking surrounding the lodge and the sun is on it all day. The whole site is really nice and only a few minutes drive into Windermere. The hosts Nick and Marolyn are great and in touch to check everything is ok and they’re also easily contactable. Would definitely stay again!

A lovely lodge, very homely and well kitted out.

The park is very friendly and accessible. A perfect base for trips out around the lakes.

We have just returned 8 Water side wood and all I can say is Amazing.

Our party included my elderly in-laws who found the facilities and access easy to use. Waterside wood is in White cross bay, a truly beautiful setting and only a short walk to Windermere lake side and the restaurant/bar. Our party also included our cockerpoo who could safely sit on the decking area watching the world go bye. The lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything that you could want for a stay in the lakes. This was our second visit to this property and it won’t be the last. Absolutely beautiful.

Christmas 2024 complete . Lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need. So cosy . The little stream running at the side was simply gorgeous to wake up to and listen to , so therapeutic. Bunnies, squirrels and deer as your neighbours

Tastefully decorated, and stocked with everything that anyone would require on a self catering holiday. The location was perfect for our needs, peaceful and set in beautiful surroundings, which were ideal for walks with our dog. The owners were extremely helpful and hospitable. We will definitely be returning next year, I would highly recommend.

Marolyn was very helpful during our stay, particularly when we arrived at Whitecross Bay and I hadn't printed off the barrier code, map and WIFI details.

The lodge was spacious, well equipped and had quality fittings. The bathroom was spacious and nicely laid out as was the shower room. The U shaped decking always had a spot where the sun could reach (if it was out) and there was lots of seating with padded cushions available. We were happy with the lodge.

Lovely stay.

The bar was a bit grim but overall we really enjoyed our stay. Only negative (and I’m really reaching here) is the baby highchair took up a lot of space and we struggled to find somewhere to put it as we needed the wardrobe space. Thank you

We have just got home from our stay at this beautiful lodge.

We received an email from Nick and Marolyn prior to leaving for our holiday. It was full of very useful information. We received another email shortly after we arrived, in which the hosts were checking everything was ok and as expected. We greatly appreciated this extra care. The lodge itself is immaculate and beautifully presented. It has everything you need including a gorgeous fire (which we used one day after getting soaked in the rain), TV, wi-fi, fridge, freezer, washing machine, outdoor seating, to name but a few things. The shower had plenty of hot water for us all and didn't run out. The lake is only a short walk from the lodge and our daughters had a great time feeding the friendly ducks and swans, which were confident enough to eat from their hands! Duck food can be bought at a reasonable price in various shops in Windermere. Our daughters also enjoyed making use of the onsite pool. We had such a lovely stay and couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Nick and Marolyn for providing such beautiful accommodation and making our stay so comfortable. I would recommend this lodge to anyone and we will certainly be back!

A very comfortable, clean and spacious lodge that is doggy friendly, which is essential to us as our cockapoo goes with us everywhere.

You have all the facilities you need in a lovely setting and location, close to Bowness, Ambleside and Windermere... all a must see, including the boat trips to see the beautiful scenery surrounding you. The owners checked in with us at points which was welcomed and appreciated. The only downside is our week went far too quickly so we will be returning. Weather unpredictable so take waterproof jackets and good walking shoes to explore in all weather's, as we did, it is trulu stunning. Thank you for a wonderful break... we will be back.

Booking was very easy and quick.

I was contacted by the owner by email straight away with accurate information about the property. The lodge was fantastic, clean and well equipped for our stay. Ideally situated with good on site facilities. I would highly recommend this lodge and will book again.

We took mum for a weekend away she's had disabilities and the lodge was absolute perfect.

The quality to detail was amazing and absolutely spotless. Nothing was to much trouble for Nick our host and actually messaged us while on the park asking if we needed anything to just contact him. Location was also brilliant travelled to Windermere Ambleside and Keswick. We will definitely be returning but this time fetching the dogs as everything was catered for them

Fantastic location.

The accommodation and amenities were of a very high standard we would most definitely come back at stay at this accommodation. The owners were very attentive and supported us to make our son-in-law’s birthday a special occasion which we appreciated.

Beautiful Lodge, on a great site, in a perfect location for exploring the Lake District.

Well equipped and spacious enough for a family of 6. Additional outdoor decking area was great too, perfect to let our dog roam and in summer would be great for relaxing and eating outside. Marolyn, the owner was a great host, going above and beyond. She made sure we felt welcome, answered any questions immediately both before and during our stay, even sent a message wishing us a safe journey home. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely return.

Even suggesting weekend events that were on - very sweet. It was a shame that the holiday park reception was not as good as we were expecting but that is definitely not a host issue. The home is beautiful and the beds are so comfortable! It is in a fabulous location, especially with the stream running under the front of the house. It is lovely that they are dog friendly and my golden girl (golden retriever) Bella had a lovely time.
