Cedar Lodge

We had a great time at Cedar Lodge .

It was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The site is a great location for everything the lakes has to offer. We would defo visit again.

Whilst most of the lodge was good my only complaint but most annoying one is that it was impossible to have a normal shower as the water pressure was ridiculous along with the fact most if the time the water was cold.

I coukd if had a better shower outside in the rain or by using the hosepipe outside. Struggled to remove shampoo from our hair especially if you have long hair. It was that bad that two of our guests went home after two days they had had enough.

Unfortunately we had an issue during our stay with a low to non existent water pressure.

I spent the whole 4 days trying to sort this. The owner, Sykes and Parkdean couldn’t have cared less. I spent 45 minutes running every bath. Some of our party had to leave early due to the inconvenience. The lodge is clearly dog friendly and the smell reflects that. On a positive note, it’s a generally nice lodge with everything you’d need for a stay. Aside from proper flowing water sadly.

Cedar lodge was amazing we had a fabulous 3 night stay everything you could need and more was provided in the lodge.

Hot tub was great to relax in. An absolutely brilliant time and will definitely be returning

Loved our recent trip to Cedar lodge.

The accommodation is extremely welcoming and the facilities are lovely and clean.

Nice lodge in a wonderful location, although there is a little bit of maintenance required to keep the lodge in good condition.

Lodge is really beautiful and the location is perfect.

The park itself is so well maintained and you couldn't be closer to all the popular towns in the lake district. Hot tub is also lovely and clean. Loads of towels and bed linen is a bonus too. Only issue was the dishwasher wasnt working when we stayed so some of the kitchen items weren't as clean as they could have been but not a major concern. Everything else was spot on and would love to stay again.

No complaints at all we had a lovely week at the lodge.

The best kitchen facilities we have ever had on a uk break including center parcs. A real home from home. Lovely hot tub spotlessly clean and a great location in the trees. Only slight issues: Door to shared bathroom (not en-suite) stuck due to swelling at base. Made it hard to open and close and was a faint damp smell. Master bedroom mattress was far too soft for our personal preference (this is not a complaint) but the bedding was like a lovely cloud which was super cosy.

The over all holiday was good, the lodge was beautiful, however in the bedroom toilet was a string smell of urine , and in the bathroom toilet was strong smell of dampness and this was all I could smell , even when u opened kitchen drawers u could smell this , and decking is in need of some tlc , but the interior of the cabin is lovely and very modern, hot tub was amazing,, we did have a great time apart from smells ,

We had a lovely stay at Cedar Lodge all the home comforts that you need.

Lovely and clean hot tub was fab. Only downside was the lack of worktop space however the kitchen was well equipped with everything you may need.

Lovely location, easy to access all areas of the lake, our lodge was fantastic, clean, tidy, well equipped, the hot tub was a god send for relaxing after daily activities, surrounding villages are beautiful, would highly recommend and we are looking at booking again ourselves already

Very comfortable stay, hot tub was wonderful and everything was clean!

Only one small issue was some moisture had got into the bathroom door frame at the bottom which caused the wood to swell so we weren’t able to close the bathroom door completely. Otherwise everything else was perfect!

We had a fabulous holiday.

The accommodation was very clean and well equipped. The site was peaceful. Had meals in the bar which were enjoyable.

Accommodation is brilliant.

Everything you need from towels for the hot tub to utensils in the kitchen. We visit every year and the property always has small upgrades. This year the USB plugs were a great enhancement especially for mobile phone charging. We were able to log onto wifi this year which isnt important but certainly helps when planning walks/day trips. The cleanliness of the property we have scored slightly lower as there was a balloon left down the side of the couch and the floor underneath the couch needed a brush from the previous visitors. Other than that, another great stay. Would be good to negotiate pool passes with Park Dean, as again this year, we paid over £40 for weekly swim passes and only managed to book into swimming on one session. Very expensive for one session and disappointing for the children.

Great lodge, clean and tidy and great hot tub.

We were very impressed with the utensils and condiments, it seemed to have everything including tin foil, oils, extra chopping boards, loads of glasses etc. There was nothing it didn't have. There were a few chipped cups, but plenty to choose from. We did notice that the hot and cold taps were connected the wrong was round so the hot was the cold etc, but no dramas. The beds were comfy and the tv had access to amazon prime and Netflix etc and even had small tvs in the bedrooms. Al in all very good. I had seem some mention of mould in the bathrooms on other reviews, but they were great during our stay. Would recommend

Lovely lodge, stayed in this lodge a few times now and it’s always clean and well equipped.

The only issue this time is there is a gap in one of the bedroom windows causing a bit of a draft. I would definitely recommend staying in this lodge ☺️

Really great lodge, looks like it’s been modernised, kitchen well equipped, good location.

The thing letting this down is the smell… looking at previous reviews from as far back as 2017 this has been an issue and lies within the main bedroom en-suite. This lodge would be absolutely fantastic if that issue was sorted.

The lodge was as described.

The en-suite bathroom smelled badly of damp so we barely used it. The hot tub became scummy if the jets were on high for a while which was off putting. The bedding whilst clean smelled of really scented fabric freshener which was quite overwhelming. Kitchen very well stocked with great appliances. Smart TV a great touch. We had a pleasant break.

Lodge was lovely and in a great location.

The main issue for us was the en suite bedroom had a damp, musty smell. Looking through the comments book in the lodge this had also been mentioned previously. There were thick dog hairs on the couch where the cushions joined and at the back so hadn't been hoovered properly. First steps into the lodge were very high so not good for people with mobility issues. Apart from these issues everyone enjoyed their stay.

We had a great holiday, the only downside was the mouldy smell in the on-suite bathroom and main bedroom, there is mould on the ceiling in a lot of areas and bathroom had a very bad smell probably from drainage.

This isn't a criticism just an observation as the chalet was perfect apart from that, bigger than expected, well stocked with plates, glasses etc. The ironing board was broken and no mop and bucket to clean the floors especially when it rained. We would certainly book again and would recommend to family and friends.

Cedar Lodge was spacious and clean.

Kitchen is well equipped and really appreciated the added touch of clean oven glove, tea-towel, scourer and cloth left for us ❤️

The lodge was clean and very comfortable. It is in a quiet area in the park at the end of a cul de sac which was great for the children to play. The hot tub is a great feature and it felt very private due to the location of the lodge. Good sized bedrooms and a very comfortable lounge and dining area. Only slight niggle, is that the bar which holds the shower in the main bathroom is broken at the bottom and comes out when changing height of the shower. It could do with getting fixed so it doesn’t come out and potentially hurt someone. I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking to stay at Whitecross bay. Access to the pool at Troutbeck was a great bonus.

The accommodation was very good.

Aside from some minor maintenance issues like broken freezer handle, broken freezer drawers small drip from bath tap, the property is very well maintained. Facilities such a dishwasher, excellent oven and full size fridge/freezer make the stay more relaxing and was very much appreciated. The hot tub was excellent and checked every morning by maintenance. The double bed was extremely comfortable and the singles were comfortable. The 3 steps at the front of the property were larger than expected/suggested which made it difficult for our disabled guest however upon getting over that everything was easily accessible. It is very clear that a lot has been put into this property and it was very comfortable to stay in. I would recommend this to others however the cost for 3 days could be reviewed as it seems slightly overpriced.

Decking was freshly varnished with no warning - our dog slipped and crashed into the furniture and our daughter slipped, smashing her face against the decking and spending most of her holiday with a fat lip and bruised forehead.

We also felt as though we were then treading varnish through the property as the bottom of our feet felt tacky. The top step of the decking was loose and another trip hazard. The carpet divider between the door bedroom and it's en suite wasn't screwed down properly, meaning screws would pop up and the door wouldn't shut properly. The freezer needed de-icing as a build up of ice was preventing the door from shutting properly, and the handle on the freezer was broken. We only saw the hot tub maintenance man once, early in our stay and by the end of the week the water level was so low, the water was so cloudy and there was a build up of grime meaning we were unable to use the hot tub for the last two days of our stay. We were also disappointed to find no hand soap, which is quite a basic thing we've always been left on other lodge holidays. In addition, Parkdean did very little to manage kids running riot late at night (passed 11pm) chasing eachother and dogs with sticks, screaming and swearing as they did so. A real shame as the lodge was otherwise very homely and has a lot of potential if looked after properly. White Cross Bay is a great location, with decent access to the lake, as well as nearby towns. Would be happy to be contacted regarding our issues with the property and can provide photographic evidence if required.

Radiator in one of small bedrooms wasn’t working and aerial wouldn’t allow us to watch tv as no service.

The lodge was really nice and cosy, bedrooms were adequate size and comfortable.

Kitchen and living space was really nice, enjoyed the fire in the living room which made the space cosy. Kitchen facilities were spot on, everthing we needed was available.

Some mould in the en-suite and double bedroom beading around the ceiling.

. Water dripping out of the fan above the toilet in en-suite. Kitchen taps loose. Otherwise Cedar lodge was lovely. Excellent hot tub which we all enjoyed. Club house and pool where excellent on site .

excellent cabin had everythink you could need for a nice relaxing stay.

.the cabin was spottless and very comfortable. We unfortunatly picked a week when the tree cutters were out in force so it was very noisey but other than that cannot complain about anythink with the cabin.great value for money. Ps.(A knife sharpener would be a great addition to help with cooking.)

This was our second visit to Cedar Lodge and the WiFi is now great - last year it did not work at all.

The lodge is in a great spot, quiet and peaceful. The ensuite bathroom has a smell which doesn't leave which could do with some attention. Everything else great .

Ceddar Lodge was the perfect lodge for us.

It was situated in a cul-de-sac on the park so that meant alot more privacy. The property had everything you needed from cutlery,plates,pans,bedding,towels. It felt cosy the moment you walked in.

Really enjoyed our stay.

The 3 bedrooms are of a good size and all the beds have toppers which mean they are super comfy. The en suite to the master was a bonus. The kitchen/living area is large enough to accommodate 6 people...just. All the items provided worked well and the hot tub was maintained daily. The site itself has a bar/restaurant/swimming pool and entertainment which was okay but wasn't well advised as to what the acts actually did and staff didn't seem to have a clue either. The kids clubs are not well advertised either and they need booking and paying for, which isn't clear. The only downside I found was that doing a private booking meant I couldn't prebook the activities on site which I would have liked to have done.

We had a great stay at the lodge.

Great location if you want to go exploring or a nice park and lovely lodge to simply relax. Would certainly recommend and intend to re book in a year or two for another stay. I left some clothes at the lodge but the aftercare in posting them on was a really nice touch. If we were to highlight anything for future improvement it would be renewall of the mattress. But certainly clean, cosy and everything you need is there.

Work space when cooking is a little short .

Had another fantastic stay in cedar lodge for Christmas,the lodge is even nicer since the kitchen/dining refurbishment.

The kitchen has more than enough equipment for our needs,even had plastic jugs which were great to make cocktails

No cafetière Hot tub maintenance man arrived before our scheduled living time felt we were being rushed out Leisure facilities dirty changing rooms lockers not working so only used once WiFi / internet down for part of the week with poor response from reception staff

This place an absolute dream, and perfect in every way except it could use like a fire stick an it’s own Internet in the property other than that it was a great relaxing stay!

We had a very enjoyable stay on the whole and have rebooked as the spot is great and the lodge has pretty much everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The one real problem which did cause me stress was the fact that the lodge lists that it has wifi and this was absolutely not the case! As a result, I missed two important meetings which had been scheduled because of the WiFi listing - In the info emailed it clearly states that there is Wifi, saying that you can log into the White Water Bay site, this was not the case and we did visit reception to check. We were concerned too thst there was no "Welcome pack" on arrival and therefore no practicsl instructions regarding how to leave bedding/ towels etc. Really hoping this will be sorted when we visit again. Otherwise, the lodge is a great place to relax and be based.

Great lodge, well stocked with every thing you would need, clean and tidy, great position in park, and to top it all of an excellent week of good weather.

Nothing to do with the lodge which was fantastic, but the park itself looked a bit tired ,the club house was a big let down with lack of staff, the bar running out of drinks and long queues at busy times. A bit of entertainment in the clubhouse wouldn’t have gone amiss either.

We realise that there is no such thing as a ‘bargain’ when staying in the Lake District but this was over priced for what we got.

We would have booked directly with the holiday park if we knew at the time of booking that is where we’d be staying. The WiFi did not work at all, which is not acceptable and is a problem the owners knew about. If one pays 100% of the fee, one expects 100% of the amenities to be available. The beds in the small bedrooms were uncomfortable as well. We were just disappointed overall and don’t feel it was value for money.

This is a lovely, well equipped lodge.

Its a cul de sac plot. So not lots of foot traffic. The lodge is lovely and spacious with all the essentials you will need. It is a good location to reach various parts of the Lake District. It’s nicely decorated and was clean on arrival. We would happily stay here again. The site has black spots for the WiFi but to be expected and wasn’t a problem for us. We didn’t use the facilities on site but they seemed what you expect from a holiday park. The on-site shop is limited and open random hours, but there are local stores near by to get your essentials. The hot tub was an added bonus and checked daily by the maintenance person. Family of 2 adults 2 teenagers and 2 dogs had a lovely stay and would recommend as a comfortable stay to access the Lakes.

Cedar Lodge exceeded our expectations!

It was such a comfortable lodge with everything we needed. Just like home from home! It was one of the cleanest lodges we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be returning

Cabin was large and very well equipped.

Double bed mattress worn, large square of foam placed on top. Listing warns of patchy wifi, we had none for the week (Site issue.) Smart TV could do with retuning for more channels. Largely unusable (Netflix etc.) due to non-existent wi-fi. No parasol. Strange smell of drains? Some noise from busy main A591road.

Lodge is clean and incredibly well equipped.

Beds were very comfortable and rooms were a good size. Hot tub was a super treat to. Only comments with a negative (ish) slant would be there is a stain on the main bedroom carpet which is noticeable as soon as you walk in the room, some of the hand rails on the decking are very loose, one of the pans is not suitable for an induction hob. And other than the lack of a welcome pack, to explain how some of the kitchen appliances worked etc. We had a lovely stay. Hot tub guy was super friendly and I would certainly recommend and return.

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Lodge.

the lodge was clean and comfortable. a washing machine would have been handy specially for gusts who stay more than a couple of days. the complimentary Wifi wasnt working. at night time the noise from the hot tub was too loud effecting our sleep. Additionally the duvet in master bedroom was too hot and there was no alternative and lighter option available to be used.

We were delighted to find the property completely refurbished.

Everywhere was extremely clean and well equipped. The hot tub was really warm and a great addition. The property is in an excellent location on the park - close to everything. Would definitely recommend. Will definitely stay again. Just so you know, the site restaurant was terrible, poor service, expensive and food arrived cold with half of it missing - we only tried twice!

We really enjoyed our stay in the cedar Lodge.

I was presently surprised at how clean the lodge was considering it is a pet friendly one. It had everything we needed and more in the kitchen. Plus tv's in all the bedrooms, which was great for the kids. The hottub was amazing and a good temperature, when compared to others I have used. Overall, a great place to stay and great location! 10/10!!

The lodge has everything you need. We use the lodge as a base and visit local places. Hot tub is a nice touch.

Lodge very nice, Sykes brilliant and responded to issues very quickly, Main issues with park it self dispute buying passes for pool unable to use due to private hire and staff training, and no internet Sad purchased passes ( waste of money) And very little help from reception as it’s a private Sykes lodge

Lovely sunny lodge, well equipped, with character.

The photos show a gas hob in the kitchen, which is not there (there is now an induction hob and new arrangement).

Spacious lodge with great hot tub in a nice quiet area of park ,had a fantastic stay for new year , would love to return for next new year after renovations but unfortunately prices have doubled so will be looking elsewhere.

Lodge outdated / worn in places eg like scale in bathroom , smelt of foist / damp but was clean and had what we needed.

Will still be using you again . Just not returning in this lodge

Great lodge - would easily fit 6 adults, even in the smaller twin room as two bathrooms (one ensuite, one family) keeps it feeling spacious (even with a puppy!

) The overall decor is a little dated and choice of furniture in the lounge means that 6 adults are not completely comfortable for long periods without using dining chairs/floor but that did not bother us at all. The main bathroom toilet seemed to have a leak so there was significant water damage to the bathroom floor and skirtings but again this did not affect our stay at all. A modernising refurb overall would bring this place right up to top class. The hot-tub and outdoor space was brilliant for our group, and location of the lodge meant that the evenings were peaceful and quiet. Good kitchen and bathroom amenities - towels, varied cookwear, dining-wear, some cleaning products and a disposable BBQ (we didn't get a chance to use though!) The lodge is a short walk to the park bar/restaurant however I would not rely on this place for eating - service was quite slow and quality not fantastic. Worth driving or a 45 mins walk into the town. The lakeside marina & BBQ area was great for us to use our paddle-boards and kayaks, and had a great sunny afternoon paddling across the lake to a secluded beach. Will definitely be back if heading to the Lakes again.

Whilst we had an enjoyable stay the lodge décor is very tired and could do with a refresh.

The carpet is badly stained and the suite is both stained and torn. The main bathroom has had some serious leaks which is visible on the floor and on the bath panel, There is also a strong smell of dampness. There is peeling on the outside of the lodge and compared to other lodges it looks very tired. The online pictures show there is no gate on the outside decking and I called ahead to confirm as we have a small dog. I was advised there was no gate but in fact there is. A waste of the £20 I spent on a portable dog gate to keep the dog in.

No washing machine and for price you would think there would be one.

Hoover also needs replacing it coughed more out than sucked up

Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the large decking area. White Cross Bay site is pretty and quiet. The staff are helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

Lovely lodge and in a great position in the park.

Loved that we could go for a swim and to the park near by. Only negatives were that there was no wifi and needed more hooks for towels, coats etc Also the beds needed to have sheets to change as the duvets were far to hot in this July heat. Finally we could smell dogs as soon as we entered the lodge.

There was a strong smell of wet dog when you entered the living room, which was quite off putting, so we had to have the doors and windows open constantly.

And the ensuite toilet broke which couldn't be fixed. I booked the lodge because of the extra toilet due to a medical condition of one of the guests. Quite disappointed really. Spoilt our weekend.

The ensuite really needs an update, the toilet sounds like its constantly filling, the toilet seat drops down when you are about to sit on it!

The taps on the ensuite sink are extremely short and hardly come over the sink. It appears as though the ensuite toilet is leaking and there needs to be a hook or another towel rail in the ensuite there is no where to hang your dressing gown

Early Autumn break

I was very pleasantly surprised with both the park and location. Very convenient for most of the eastern lakes 'must see' villages. The park facilities were very good and the proximity to the lake was lovely and serene despite the number of other guests. The actual lodge was in a lovely quiet location and had every modern amenity. The hot tub was an added bonus. The furnishings were all excellent and the only 'gripe' I have is the comfort of the bed in the main room. A mattress is such a personal thing and I'm used to a very well sprung bed, however this was like sleeping on hardwood, which I know some people like. Can't please all the people etc.. Weekend at Cedar Lodge

We had a great weekend at Cedar Lodge, the Lodge is stunning with everything you need ,it is a real home from home. The .hot tub is a great feature just what you need to relax at the end of the day . Cedar Lodge

Lodge was lovely very central but a little too over looked, felt we were being watched by a neighbouring property. Hot tub was great although a beer bottle was pushed into one of the jets. It would be good if some screening was put around hot tub maybe some potted bamboo. All of the beds could do with a softer mattress even my little people said they were very hard, maybe even mattress topers. Kitchen was really well equiped, liked the plastic bowls and glasses they were ideal for the little ones. Tv in the smaller room needs to be lower to use the dvd player lm tall and struggled to reach it. All in all a nice stay but lodge could do with a few tweaks. Most enjoyable stay.

Me and my family had an absolutely lovely stay at Cedar Lodge, it was a real home from home feeling. The lodge it's self was spotless and very welcoming. Cedar lodge

Cedar lodge was a very good choice for us very well equipped and for us it was in a very good position in the park, in the open. Many of the lodges are under trees and would be shaded in the summer months. Very clean and very well equipped and we will look forward to a return trip. Winter Break

Within a matter of hours of arriving, myself and the rest of the party declared that we would definitely be coming back! This is the first I had stayed in a lodge before and it was amazing. I have never stayed anywhere so clean, the facilities were amazing and the site was lovely. I truly believe that lake district lodge holidays under sell themselves. All rooms were a great size and we felt very comfortable. Loved it!

We had a brilliant time at the lodge and plan to go back again. Prices in the winter were brilliantly low and just what we needed as our Christmas gift to each other. Our only problem was the bed being a double, my OH is tall and so was hanging off the end of the bed and being used to a super king bed we felt a little cramped in. But that is just us being too spoilt. The cabin was immaculate, and very spacious. So much more than we were expecting. And we loved the hot tub, it was lovely sitting out in it on an evening. Would definitely recommend. Can't say much about the rest of the site/facilities as we took our dog and didn't want to leave him. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Fab break

We stayed for 3 nights (wish was longer) and really enjoyed it. The lodge is a real home from home with everything we needed. Even though it was cold when we visited the lodge was easy to keep warm and cosy. Loved the hot tub. It was great being able to bring our dog with us. Had a really relaxing time and didn't want to leave. Very close to Windermere and Ambleside which we love visiting anyway. Can't wait to return. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Excellent New Year Stay

Absolutely gorgeous lodge,exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Hot Tub was an added bonus ... Very comfortable for our family of 4 adults. 2 teens - highly recomend this to anyone. Wonderful Stay!

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Cedar. The location was amazing, tucked away down a cul de sac. It was wonderful to hear nothing but birds tweeting. The lodge itself was modern, clean, well maintained and in an ideal location. The hottub was fantastic and really added to our experience. Excellent stay everything we needed, the lodge was excellent.Just a few things could improve the stay steps up to the Hot Tub, my 75 year old mum stayed with us and she would have loved to use the hot tub but was afraid she might not get in and out with out steps so didn't attempt it.The other thing was the settees were a little uncomfortable for long term use . Clean, Great Location

Had a great stay, was comfortable, had everything we needed and was a GREAT location. It was a 2 minute drive from Ambleside and a 5 minute drive to Windermere. There was a Booth supermarket close by which was great. The weather was great for our weekend. The hot tub was great on a night when it got a little chilly. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Great Stay!

Stayed at Langdale Lodge with a group of friends, and we were all really impressed with the lodge and the surrounding park. The booking process was easy and all subsequent correspondance was sent through in good time and was very comprehensive in the detail. Check in at reception on the day was very efficient with very friendly and competent staff. The lodge itself was modern, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was good, although the shower was quite tricky to maintain a comfortable temperature. The outdoor space was ideal, and the hot tub was amazing, lovely and warm. Very nice lodge, good location. Only thing we found was that the lodge is for 6 people and would benefit from having another two seater couch instead of armchair. Didn't spoil our weekend though! A good lodge on great site but lodge needs a few tweets and site might not be to every one tastes

Lodge was generally excellent, been recently refurbished to great modern standard. Some sky channels big bonus. Only let downs were small items we went to use tin opener all other kitchen items of high good brand quality the tin opener however was type from pound shop and broken big problem at 7 pm. Salt cellar plastic seal missing. Both these problems most likely caused my previous guests and not noticed by owners. Central heating not working in main and bedroom 2, the control valves seem to locked in place. We had one cold night. One other observation and applied to other dog friendly lodges our 6 month old beddlington terrier (not a small breed)could force his way past the decking bars and escape luckly we had long lead to secure him on decking. Park shop extremely expensive 89p for tin of garden peas 69p for small tub of salt. We took dog to pub one warm night sitting out side not a problem but in darkness bit extreme. Fab stay in the lakes :-)

After looking at numerous dog friendly accommodation in the Lake District this property ticked all our boxes and it did not fail our expectations. The lodge is spacious, well equipped, location on the site is perfect and also perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas in the lakes. The only downfall was that the dishwasher was not working during our stay. The kids loved the hot tub and also loved having a TV in their bedrooms. It is only a few minutes walk to the on site club and also we could watch the kids playing on the playground from the lodge. This is the first holiday we have taken our dog on and he had an brilliant time, we all had an amazing holiday! . Could not recommend this lodge enough. A fabulous lodge

We found the site easily as directions provided very good. Text message welcoming us and giving the site's phone number was a nice touch.The lodge was immaculate and very well equipped. We enjoyed the jacuzzi. The only problem was the site was badly lit at night making it difficult to walk to the restaurant with a wheel chair.

fabulous weekend break with family

We stayed for a long weekend and there were 11 of us and 1 dog spread across 2 lodges. We had more than enough space and were impressed with the size of the bedrooms and the living area. The kitchen does not have a lot of space if you are wanting to cook but that wasn't too much of an issue for us as we only made breakfast in there. Even though it was March we were lucky enough to have good weather were able to make good use of the hot tub which was clean and well maintained and very enjoyable to use. Lake District Lodge Holidays emailed and contacted us several times before our holiday to make sure we had everything we needed. The first we night realised that we had no hot water or gas and called the number on our booking info and someone came out within 30 minutes to replace the gas bottle and then we were telephoned the next day to check if everything had been sorted. Unbelievable!

We stayed here as a combined birthday treat for me and the other half. And the pooch of course. We loved everything about it. The lodge was like a home away from home, wanting for nothing. Extremely clean and well looked after. Hot tub is always a welcome treat at the end of a day's walking. Great location in the park and park is in a great location too. Short drive to some lovely walks as well as the nearby villages. Even with the boathouse out of action for most of our stay, the Owners Lodge was always a pleasure to sit in and have a drink. Fantastic stay at cedar lodge

We had a brilliant 4 night stay. The lodge had everything we need as a group of 5 adults and a little one. Plenty of space, comfy beds and the dishwasher was a bonus. The hotub was probably the highlight for us all though, perfect for relaxing after a long day walking. Great facilities on site too, we made us of the swimming pool everyday. The lodge is also based in a great location between Ambleside and Bowness on Windermere. Both a five minute drive or 30/35 minute walk away. Perfect location, perfect lodge..

There was 5 adults that stayed at the lodge, and there was plenty of room for all of us. Upon entering the lodge, it exceeded our expectations. Was beautiful inside, and very homely. Modern, and extremely clean and tidy. Beds were so comfortable, and it had everything we needed and more. I, personally am disabled and on crutches, I was slightly weary of the decking, especially with having the hot tub, but I found it fine being extra cautious. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The lodge was ideal and the location is perfect for touring the lake district.Loved it would,not hesitate to return.Accommodation was excellent. It was ideal for us . the lodge was very well presented . Family loved the hot tub and it was great to relax in after a days walking. I particularly enjoyed the leisure club membership at Troutbeck ,this enabled me to start each morning with a swim at either 8 or 9 am. My son and daughter also made use of the gym here. Had really enjoyable stay and will return again. Only negatives were annoyingly loud floorboards so you couldn't walk past bedrooms without waking everyone up, shower not working properly in en suite and constant smell of wet dogs. Another lovely stay

We had a great week in Cedar Lodge. Great location of the lodge meant we were close to the pool and amenities and a very short walk to the fantastic lakeside. We would highly recommend the lodge and lake district lodge holidays. It was our first year last year and we are hooked, been back this year, although to a different lodge than in 2015, we are already looking to book for 2017. We love the place. Family gathering at Ceder lodge, perfect.

Had a wonderful time, lodge was perfect, for our visit to see our grandchildren for the 1st time. We came over from Canada, and I decided to rent a lodge so we could all stay together, and my husbands family could also come to visit for a day as they live in Whitehaven. The lodge was perfect size, for 4 adults, and 1toddler , and a infant, We used the outside patio from sun up to sun down, very quite area, walk down to lake was nice. Ceder lodge has every you need, for cooking, your own meals, which we did as with little ones too hard go out at night, plus very relaxing just sitting on deck. Being Canadian, I drink coffee, so we did bring our own coffee maker. Looking forward to going back in a few years. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The weather was perfect, 80 plus degrees, sun shone every day, loved listening to the birds in the morning, very peaceful. This was our second stay in the Cedar Lodge and I will definitely be returning again. Received first class customer service and valued as a returning customer which is wonderful to see. Lovely break

Stayed in Cedar Lodge over the weekend, made the most of the short break option which was perfect as we could check out at 5pm on the Sunday. We thought the lodge was exceptionally clean, we liked the large hallway, particularly with the dogs - the beds were comfy and the children loved having a tv in their own rooms. Kitchen compact but well equipped and everything worked and obviously it was brilliant to have the hot tub. The only downside was parking with two cars which was tight and we are continually disappointed with the customer service at White Cross Bay. As a family of five plus one dog we have had an amazing week at this beautiful lodge. Great private location with fabulous hot tub. The lodge was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. Love this Lodge but it need TLC

This is the third year running that I have stayed at this lodge. It is in a great location and is a fab sized lodge which I have always loved. The hot tub is also a bonus. Unfortunately it is now becoming a little tired and needs some attention to maintenance and cleanliness. On arrival the windows inside and out were filthy which in a lodge with this much glass really is noticeable. So I began by cleaning the windows to make my own stay feel more luxurious. Over the course of the holiday a number of maintenance issues became evident - extractor fan in the main bathroom was broken, dishwasher has a clip missing so the top shelf falls out when you use it, the light on the kitchen extractor fan was broken, dining table has a wobbly top, main bedroom ceiling has some mildew, pots and pans are chipped and the non stick is scratched, ornamental flowers are jaded. In addition throughout the stay when both doors were open there was a sewerage smell. I couldn't work out if this was a site problem although the rear lodge skirt was removed indicating that perhaps this was under repair. This is not the standard I have come to expect from this company and I have to say I was disappointed that this lodge does not appear to be being maintained to the standard it deserves given the number of issues. Needless to say I have not rebooked this lodge as usual. I could have complained whilst on site but did not want workmen throughout my stay so decided against this. The lodge and holiday site was lovely. Plenty for kids if you get the nice weather, hot tub was excellant. The lodge itself was immaculate and very homely. Absolutely gorgeous

Beautiful lodge, close to two beautiful towns

Came to the lakes for a wedding with a group of friends and the Cedar Lodge was perfect for us. Minutes away from Windermere and Ambleside, it was the perfect base for a Lakes vacation. The lodge was clean and cozy, with everything we needed. The hot tub was great! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Lovely stay.

We were there for a week and had a lovely stay. It was comfortable and in an ideal location. Our only complaint was that the boiler had broken down. So no hot water for washing or dishes unless boiling the kettle. After maintenance came and tried to fix it. After 3 days the boiler gave up. We were advised a new boiler would be fitted when went home on the Monday. Hope its fixed for the next booking. Would book again. I'll just check there is a new boiler fitted. 20 Cedar Lodge

When arriving Reception was very helpful. The site is very clean. The (Pet Friendly) Lodge itself was nice on the outside and in a great location. The only downsides to the stay were: Carpets are heavily stained (Wear Socks), Vacuum Cleaner did not work, and not much storage for food. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend with the carpets looking the way they are. I would suggest buying a Carpet Cleaner for Guests to use. Besides the Carpet, the Lodge was pretty clean with enough parking for 2-3 cars. What did you enjoy most about your stay? lovely stay

came here with my 2 daughters and we had a good stay. our lodge was very clean and spacious! we had a hot tub and the girls absolutely loved it. The only downside to it was there wasn't much to do and we struggled to find stuff to do near the end of our week! the food in the restaurant was ok but had to wait an hour and a half. it was stated that the swimming pool was heated but it was freezing and was very shallow. the staff were very friendly and we cant wait to hopefully come back in the near future! Lake District

We had a very enjoyable 1 weeks stay here. The scenery is great, love the area and all it has to offer. We did not use any of the facilities on the site, apart from the night we arrived. We had a takeaway of fish and chips, which was quite expensive. The hot tub was great to use after a day of walking and site seeing. Also many dog friendly places to eat. good times

Excellent location, excellent lodge, fantastic hot tub. We had a fantastic 5 days holiday, visiting several places in the lakes. There's lots to do, walking, swimming, relaxing in the hot tub. The lodge has all the mod cons, comfortable beds, plenty of space for clothes & central heating if needed plus games to play on rainy days. A great holiday for those who love the outdoors. They do a fantastic family bowl to share & dogs are also welcome if you have one.

Xmas family break

Second visit to Cedar Lodge. Came for Xmas with family and dog. Clean warm comfortable and tidy accommodation. Plenty of crockery, pans, glasses cutlery etc. Full sized fridge freezer which we made full use of. Full sized oven/hob made cooking Xmas lunch stress free. The hot tub was a welcome addition. Review of Cedar Lodge

Fantastic lodge with every amenity available. We stayed for 3 nights but could easily stay longer. Lodge was in perfect location, at the end of a cul-de-sac so we had lots of privacy. The hot tub was a favourite with my children and husband. The bedrooms, very neat and tidy and the quilts and pillows looked new. We are definitely making this a yearly tradition and will always look to stay at Cedar Lodge. Decking looks tired but that is the only negative. Loved our stay, thank you! This is the 2nd time we've visited Cedar Lodge and both times we left wanting to come back. The Lodge is in a great position in a quiet area plus still close to the clubhouse. 14 night stay at lodge midway through break housekeeping came in and changed all bedding and towels ( luvly touch).Luvly clean lodge, housekeeping staff were very good, location was ideal no constant foot traffic going to and from clubhouse. The Lounge Carpets had stains. A mop would have been useful to clean the kitchen and bath area

It is understandable that the carpets get dirty during the holiday season but we had our 10 month old grandson playing on the floor so we were just having to be careful of where he played. A mop would have been handy, so that we could have mopped up in the bathroom and the kitchen, however there might have been one but we couldn't find it. Apart for these two things, our holiday spent at the Cedar Lodge was wonderful. it was our first family holiday with our 10 month old grandson and we have a wonderful time, the hot tub was just perfect. All the bedrooms were clean and tidy, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was so WELL equipped. We would definitely recommend this Lodge to friends and family and we would definitely book this Lodge again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Lovely Lodge

Really lovely lodge positioned at the end of a small cul-de-sac so no passing traffic. The lodge was very clean, warm and fresh. Quiet location although you could hear the traffic on the main road despite not being that close to it! Very handy for the park, swimming pool, restaurant etc. 5 minutes walk to the lake shore. White Cross Bay is ideally located for exploring the Lakes. The hot tub is a great addition to save having to hear 'I'm bored' from the kids as soon as you get back to the lodge! We also visited the swimming pool at Troutbeck Bridge which was an added bonus and also very clean and inviting. Great holiday and amazing weather for October!
