Lakeshaven

During what was a very warm week the shade provided by total tree cover over the lodge was very welcome.

Club bar / restaurant appeared under staffed throughout our stay to the point service was poor at best staff struggling to cope with demand. Great base for exploring all the Lakes have to offer and proximity to Windermere and Bowness was great. Would I return - Yes

What a fantastic lodge visited with my daughter, daughter in law and twin baby granddaughters.

Lodge is big enough to accommodate their prams etc. very clean and well appointed lodge. Our visit was during the June heatwave but due to being under a lot of trees the lodge remained cool and comfortable. Would recommend stay here x

We had a lovely short stay at Lakeshaven.

The property was lovely and clean and had lovely extra touches. We enjoyed the games from the cupboard which provided lots of fun when the weather wasn’t on our side. The property was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The weather wasn’t the warmest during our stay and found that perhaps the heating wasn’t working as efficiently as it should, but as we were in and out and only staying for a short time this wasn’t a big issue. Great location a short walk from Brockholes which was great for the kids.

Whitehaven was a lovely property very warm and cosy, with everything we needed for our stay there, with a nice homely feel to it, I have already recommended it to relations who enjoyed looking at some of the photos we had taken, Thankyou for a lovely holiday, look forward to coming back!

Stunning property surrounded by beautiful trees , will definitely go back .

This was in a great location to explore the Lakes and is a bus stop a short walk away of you don’t want to drive.

Heading into Windermere there is a petrol station with a Spar attached which is a well stocked shop and reasonably priced too. The site is great for families, young couples and older ones too with a lovely walk to the marina. The lodge had little extras that they don’t mention, such as … A cupboard with games in for those rainy nights Feeding bowels for dogs, a couple of leads and poo bags in case you forgot yours. When we went there was salt, pepper, foil and washing up liquid which was a great help. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, chops, glasses and utensils and pans etc and there is a dishwasher too. This was a great stay which was reasonably priced too. The only downside is it’s made me want to buy a lodge on the resort.

We found when we arrived at the lodge that the dishes were unclean and needed to be washed first before use and the bin in the kitchen needs a good wash as it is really smells.

The fridge is not cool enough the keep food fresh and the kitchen sink needs fixed as it is leaking all over the worktop. The shower in the e suite needs repaired as not secured on wall. The location of lodge is lovely could do with a side table to ho with the outdoor chairs.

We loved staying at Lakeshaven.

We didn't want to go home! Very comfortable and spacious lodge! Highly recommend staying there to anyone! The lake was a short walk to the marina! We will absolutely come back again when we can!

The property was very clean, tidy and well equipped will everything we needed.

We really enjoyed playing scrabble - thank you that was a lovely surprise. We loved the private position of the cabin and the surrounding trees. We would highly recommend the cabins to all staying at White Cross Bay. For future renters we didn’t realise we could catch the bus out the front of the park back into Windermere. We loved the bus trip to Keswick in Stage coaches - excellent value at 3 pounds each.

This is our 5th stay in the lodge - the location is fabulous for exploring the area either on foot, public transport or by car.

The accommodation is everything you need, well equipped and clean. The thank you card and bottle of fizz was a nice treat. Looking forward to our next holiday there x

Our stay at Lakeshaven was excellent, we arrived on time and the instructions provided by Sykes via the app was excellent.

The property had everything for our stay and we really enjoyed the location high up on the hill looking over the park, it was beautiful. We would highly recommend this and we would definitely stay again if we visit Windermere again because it was a perfect location to visit all the attractions, clean and a very well looked after property, the owner has done an excellent job and thank you so much.

Had a lovely stay at this gorgeous holiday home Catered for our every need , lovely and spacious and thought of everything .

All kitchen and bathroom accessories available . I would just mention the toilet flush in the en-suite which isnt the best but the main bathroom toilet was fine . Would definitely recommend, great value for money and would hope to return again ! Thank you for a wonderful stay

Great lodge, great park.

We took the our dog and they had left treats and poo bags. There was plenty cleaning supplies. The pub/restaurant was a 2 minute walk from the lodge. Great stay, would like to visit again.

Great lodge.

Owners have thought of everything. Fully equipped and loved how much they catered for dogs. Included bowls and treats etc. Lodge was lovely and clean when we arrived. Only thing we found was the toilets didn’t flush the best but unsure if that is a site thing rather than just the lodge. Would stay again.

We truely had a magical time and made lots of beautiful memories. The lodge itself was lovely and relaxing. We were there when it was very sunny so to have decking in the shade was a comfort to us. My only recommendations would be blankets as additional snuggle comfort but that was our preference. There was also no BBQ drum albeit it didn’t impact. Overall fantastic

The holiday cottage was generally nice the only disappointments were that cleanliness fell quite below standards ie there were dirty seat covers for the dinning table, chairs one bath towel was very dirty and the supply of towels for a family of 5 for four days was very very short indeed and there were quite a few cobb webbs on the lights on the bedrooms ceilings.

On suite toilet does not flush properly , we had to fill a bucket of water to pour it down the toilet to flush it .

The extractor fan over the oven had no bottom grill on it and was full of spider webs . The good side, when we arrived the lodge was lovely and warm and a nice welcoming light was on . The xmas tree was a lovely touch too .

Such a beautiful lodge, had everything we needed.

This was our first time at Lakeshaven and I can’t wait to go back. Surrounded one side with trees made it feel so cosy. Inside was very clean and tidy, beautifully decorated.

A good sized, clean, well equipped lodge in a lovely, wooded part of the park.

It was warm and there was plenty of hot water. It does smell quite ‘doggy’ so great for pets but may need to avoid if you have allergies. The toilet in the master en-suite does not flush properly & the shower head keeps slipping down so difficult to shower under. Needs a new tin opener & some sharper knives, had to hack the vegetables apart when cooking

Lovely lodge.

Felt like you were in a tree house Very clean and cosy, the only thing would be that the two twin beds were not comfy, but everything else was great!

The accommodation was great, we loved the kitchen and living area setup, meant I could still be part of the family fun while cooking and washing up.

The facilities at Park Dean like the pool and steam rooms are kept to a good standard and the location is great for getting into all of the Lake District. The only downside was the single bed mattresses are well past their best, really uncomfortable to sleep on and my teenage daughter ended up sharing with her brother on one of the doubles because she slept so badly. We’d highly recommend these mattresses are replaced ASAP.

The location was perfect under the canopy of trees, very cosy inside we had a great time.

Although the first week of school holidays we were well away from the crowds. Second time at White Cross and are back again At Christmas

Beautiful lodge, location in the park was great couldn’t fault the cleanliness and what was provided.

Will definitely be returning at sometime in the near future. Only minor point was that the toilet in the on suite bathroom didn’t flush great, but even if not fixed it wouldn’t stop me from booking again.

The cottage was everything and more than we expected.

The location was perfect for our little break, the cleanliness was immaculate the ease of check in and out was seamless and we will definitely be staying again

The home was fine, just a couple of points there was only 2 toilet rolls supplied, the hot tap in the bath wouldn’t work unless you had it on really slow (took an age to fill the bath).

No bags left to put the laundry in when beds stripped etc

Everything was perfect cleaning, well equipped, location and the instructions for check in and out.

We really enjoyed :) The only issue that u may face if you have kids and you are planning to stay more than 3 days, there is no washing machine otherwise the cottage is well prepared for kids under 2 year :) Of course will book it again… thank you

Lovely holiday property, comfortable and plenty of room for ourselves and our 3 children!

Lodge is lovely and provides everything you could need during your time away.

Beds are super comfortable and towels and linens are all provided which is helpful. More attention to detail could be be taken with cleaning as there were lots of cobwebs on the inside of the window frames throughout and the oven definitely needs a deep clean! Shower heads were also bit dirty but overall the bathrooms were clean and bright. Fridge could maybe also be doing with being replaced as it didn't seem to keep things cold. Park feels like a bit of a maze when you first arrive as lodges are tucked away all over the place but once you get your bearings, it's lovely to walk around especially down at the marina.

The holiday park did not have the spa which is still advertised.

Service in the clubhouse was not great as they were short staffed but all very friendly Cabin was lovely and clean Excellent location to explore the lake Windermere

Our only comment on the Lodge is it is rather tired looking but still comfortable for a good stay

Well designed lodges in a great location.

Really enjoyed being there during mid winter. The only issue: the central heating needs to be on before arrival of guests, otherwise it is not very welcoming, arriving in a cold lodge during winter. Thanks.

This was a lovely cabin as it was more or a traditional cabin inside with the pine slatting.

The position of the lodge made it feel like a tree house.

Loved the space and facilities in the lodge and on the veranda.. Location was very good for exploring the Lake District and the bus stop right outside the gate - with the open top bus running - meant we could leave the car behind for a couple of trips. The only slight negative is the "shop" on site. There was so little to buy that we had to leave the camp to buy even basic groceries..

We used Lakeshaven as a base for a weekend of motorcycle touring and what a beautiful place it was to come back to, in the quiet part of the park, very clean and spacious, I would highly recommend Lakeshaven, thanks for a great weekend.

Very enjoyable 4 night stay at Lakeshaven.

I was aware it was shaded however would have been very disappointed if not aware as the lodge gets no sun on the balcony. There were a few cleanliness issues, freezer had ice pole and breadcrumb remnants so had to clean before putting anything in, some of the crockery and cutlery were greasy as not been washed properly. Even so like I said it was a good few days break. We will be returning to the Lakes possibly to whitecross but will get a hot tub next time.

We really enjoyed our holiday and the staff were very helpful, however, the poor internet access in the cabin was a distinct drawback.

The brochure in the cabin showed the wrong session time for the swimming pool, the staff said it was shown accurately on line but if you couldn't get online in the cabin that was not much use! There was good internet access in the reception, bar, restaurant area and we were allowed to use the owners lounge to make an important Teams meeting that could not be avoided.

We rarely had hot water, even when I rang and thought it was fixed the next day when we got back after a long day out myself, partner and 3 children needed a bath to warm up and we had no hot water, the oven was on a timer as it came on in the middle of the night but then wouldn't work in the day.

We came home on Sunday around 4pm as we were all very cold and needed hot water for a bath. I definitely will not be staying at lakehaven lodge again.

Gorgeous lodge

We had a lovely stay for two nights in June. The lodge is fab - very homely and cosy with some nice decor uoucgs. There was a deer outside below the cabin. What a sight! Beautiful spot. Enjoyable Christmas holiday at Lakeshaven.

We had a very enjoyable Christmas at Lakeshaven. All the amenities we required, and it was warm and cosy. Beds were very comfortable and the showers very good. Fantastic location, fantastic site

Great location on the lakeshore, close to Ambleside and Windermere. Grasmere in striking distance also. Accomodation was absolutly fantastic could not have wished for better, very comfortable and well equipt. Christmas tree was a nice touch too. What did you enjoy most about your stay? An amazing break

We absolutely loved our lodge holiday. It was so easy to book and the information sent via email before our arrival was very thorough. Pandemic deep clean is not obvious.

Having been told that a deep clean was required after each guest left i was surprised to find that it was not as good as it should be. I dropped a pen down the side of the bed, i moved the bedside table to retrieve it and found not of dirt old sweet wrappings and dust. Otherwise in the general areas the cleaning was acceptable. Surprising Find

Cosy and relaxing

This lodge provided just the right accommodation for our bubble of 4 adults and 2 children, and was very cosy and pretty well equipped. On arrival it instantly felt warm and welcoming, and there was a very comprehensive folder of instructions to help us get to grips with unfamiliar appliances. There was plenty of storage space and it never felt cramped. The lodge is in a quieter uphill area of the park but within easy reach of all the amenities. The park is in a great position for exploring the area and we had a delightful holiday in glorious weather. The nearby Brockholes adventure park was a great hit with the children, as well as the on-site playground and activities. Despite some lockdown restrictions being in force, the staff made it as easy as possible to order food and we were able to arrange a swimming session and an organised nerff battle activity. The only issue we had was with the travel cot, the mattress is really just a thin solid base and while we appreciate this is for safety reasons it just wasn't comfortable for our 18 month old and we had to find a solution to pad it out a bit.
