Windermere 2.4 miles. Tranquil Waters is a charming lodge with serene lake views, situated on White Cross Bay Holiday Park. This property rests within the Lake District National Park, near to the village of Troutbeck Bridge in Cumbria.

With off-road parking for two cars, this delightful retreat is perfect for families or friends seeking a lakeland escape amidst nature's splendour.

Upon entering this single-storey abode, be delighted by the generous wraparound veranda, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or dine alfresco on warmer days; the perfect spot to relax and soak up the picture-postcard views of the lake.

Enter into the open-plan living area, a real social hub of the property, where you can unwind on the plush seating in front of the Smart TV and electric fire, creating a warm atmosphere for those chillier evenings. The designated chef of the group will be delighted with the well-equipped kitchen, offering everything needed to prepare delicious meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table.

When the day draws to a close, retire to one of the three inviting bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, ample storage for your personal belongings, a TV for those lazy mornings in bed, and the added benefit of an en-suite walk-in shower room, so you can get ready for the day in style. The second bedroom is a single, perfect for children and the third is a twin, ideal for friends sharing.

Just a short walk away from the lodge, you will find in the park the boat house which includes bar restaurant, with themed food nights, evening entertainment both for children and adults. Hire a boat from the lake opposite and drift along the serene waters, soaking in the surreal surroundings, or park your boat and enjoy a peaceful moment immersed in nature's beauty. This was our second stay at this property and both of these were an absolute pleasure.

An excellent location with stunning views and easy access to the surroung areas. The property itself is wonderfully kept, attractive and well equiped with everything needed to ensure a fantastic stay. Would certainly recommend this to others and look forward to our next stay.

Lovely lodge really enjoyed our stay , we have already booked for next year on our return home.

only couple of minor things , hoover didn't work well , no tea towels (normally supplied with towels ,could have brought some from home if known) had to go buy some. no chopping board or baking tray in the kitchen which made cooking slow for the family , hopefully better equipped for our next stay, overall great holiday. Thank you.

I have mixed feelings about Tranquil Waters.

First impressions were not good, unlike the lodges around it, Tranquil Waters had cobwebs everywhere, on the steps, railings, walls, which were particularly bad, and under the eaves. The outdoor furniture had splits in it and moss growing on the chairs. The glass on the folding doors was smudged and smeared and looked as if it hasn't been cleaned for quite a while. The inside was much better, clean, tidy and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, although it was lacking a chopping board. The oven, as mentioned in previous reviews, didn't have oven trays, although there was a small grill pan which must have belonged to a much smaller oven at some stage. Having said all that, we enjoyed our first visit to the Lake District and our stay at Tranquil Waters, with it's wonderful view. I feel the first impressions let the lodge down as it looks neglected and uncared for, and in need of some refurbishment.

We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your first visit to the Lake District, found the lodge clean and welcoming inside, enjoyed the comfortable beds and, most importantly, the wonderful views from Tranquil Waters. We’re sorry that your first impression wasn’t what you had hoped for. Being set within woodland is a big part of Tranquil Waters’ character, but unfortunately cobwebs and the occasional spider are part of that natural setting. The lodge is managed and paid for to have all areas regularly cleaned and cleared, although cobwebs can return very quickly, especially at the time of year you visited. I have nevertheless raised your comments with the Sykes/Lakelovers housekeeping team to ensure the exterior presentation is addressed. The lodge is normally fully equipped with kitchen utensils, but we have experienced a few items going missing this summer. These have now been replaced, including the chopping board and oven trays. I have also reminded Lakelovers of their responsibility to notify us of any missing items going forward, so they can be replaced promptly and we can also look into how the items are going missing. We’ll also take your comments regarding the outdoor furniture and windows on board. We’re glad you ultimately enjoyed your stay and the Lake District, and we hope to welcome you back to Tranquil Waters in the future.

A wonderful family stay that more than lived up to its name.

Tranquil Waters is brilliantly located for exploring Windermere and the wider Lake District, with everything you need close at hand while still feeling peaceful and removed from the crowds. The property itself is cosy and immediately welcoming - the kind of place where you settle in within minutes. It's well-equipped throughout and the standard of accommodation is high. Nothing felt tired or overlooked. The showers were excellent, and on the warm sunny days we enjoyed, the doors opening directly onto the decking were a real highlight — a lovely touch that made the most of the setting. A couple of minor points worth noting for the owners: the double socket in the single bedroom appeared faulty - it produced an odd smell when in use, so we stopped using it and would recommend it's checked and replaced as a precaution. The TV remote was also a little sluggish, possibly just in need of new batteries. One small note on the layout: the en suite is on the narrow side, though the showers themselves were great. None of these detracted significantly from what was a brilliant stay. We'd return without hesitation and would recommend Tranquil Waters to anyone looking for a quality family base in the Lake District.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tranquil waters and hope to be back in the future.

It was a real home from home. Location by the lake was wonderful and we captured some beautiful sunsets. It was a perfect base for us when we were attending a wedding locally. We didn't use the onsite facilities but they looked good. We were surprised at how large the kitchen was which was such a bonus as we love cooking. We even cooked a roast dinner! There was nothing to note that was negative but we do want to bring up a few things for the owner to consider adding to the kitchen utensils. One shelf in the oven was not enough when wanting to use it for cooking multiple items for example we struggled to cook more than one pizza at a time. A pair of scissors would have been helpful along with a cullender to drain pasta or potatoes. My mother was desperate to have a bath but the water was Luke warm and we couldn't get it very hot at all. Luckily the showers were a good temperature. Hooks on the back of doors to hang dressing gowns/coats would also have been useful. All in all we had lovely stay and would recommend this property to others.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.
All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.
Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
