What guests are saying
Lovely location, Limefitt a good site and well situated .
The lodge itself is not big enough for 4 adults . Tiny second bedroom only suitable for single person or two children . The biggest thing is that it was not clean ! As soon as we entered it smelt fusty and windows had to be opened , I had to then get the hoover out and clean under the sofa’s as my small dog was going crazy for the old food underneath. Along with the food was muck and dirt leaving me to form the opinion it had not been done in a long time. I understand that in these type of places you will have the odd cobweb but the webs above the patio doors on the inside looked like the spiders had built themselves a village . All lamps dusty , toilets had hair under lids and the floor beneath toilet. Window sills in bathrooms mucky , basically we spent a considerable amount of time cleaning up as best we could on the first day of our holiday . The Sheets and duvet covers in both bedrooms had marks on but felt clean . The upside is the hot tub lovely , nice lodge if not 4 adults, TVs in all rooms a nice touch , heating good with heated towel rail . Great to be next to river and view of the bridge . All staff lovely on site . The only downside was space and need to upscale cleaning . My husband also cut his hand on a broken coat hook on the door in the little room as it was sharp, I would certainly return to that particular lodge if it was clean and just me and hubby . This was our third visit to Limefitt in a lodge and this was the worst for cleanliness so far .
The lodge was in a great location overlooking the river and just a short drive to Windermere, Bowness and Ambelside.
The lodge had everything we needed for our week away, it was spacious enough for us with two dogs and two teenage boys, very clean and had a great hot tub. The site has a dedicated dog field which was ideal for our two dogs. The pub onsite serves good meals and dogs are welcome inside. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful.
