The lodge backs onto a woodland area and enjoys breath-taking views of the surrounding fells.

Limefitt Park is based in the Troutbeck Valley, only four miles from Windermere village, a bustling vibrant centre with shops, pubs and cafes; or a mile further on to Bowness with steam cruises, restaurants and shops.
Back at Limefitt, you have two great local pubs in walking distance, there’s a pub and small shop on site too.
On the other side of the valley is Wansfell Pike and over to Ambleside.
Driving to Ambleside is around four miles, and Glenridding the village on the shores of Ullswater is ten miles away.
Make some lovely memories here at Valley View, as you enjoy your Lake District break.

The lodge is beautiful.
It is so spacious ,it’s got really comfortable furniture and a massive bed to die for. The kitchen was well equipped with a lovely dining table with great views. The bathroom is very large with a great powerful shower. There are no negative things we could say and would definitely recommend the lodge and we look forward to returning to it.
A beautiful lodge.
Home from home. Everything you needed was there. Beautiful views. Fab communication and easy to find. Will definitely stay again.
The lodge is absolutely beautiful, home from home.
You have everything you need in the kitchen, the lounge area is so comfortable. All the beds were extremely comfortable. The site is so quiet and you even have the sheep coming to visit. The staff in the pub were very friendly and it had a lovely atmosphere, We can’t wait to re-book for next year.
Very good and excellent all round the reviews on this property is correct it is above and beyond expectations the property owners have kept this lodge to a high standard.
And the cleaners of this lodge deserve high praise for there work we are very grateful and thank you all. Mr & Mrs -------- Dorset
Absolutely loved the lodge and it's situ on the site, we've stayed in a few different lodges on the site now and this was by far the nicest, the HUGGGGGE bed was so comfy and it was nice to have a large shower in the ensuite as well as a nice bath for relaxing.
Being right next to a wooded area my Merlin bird app got a lot of use. The many different seating areas mean you can follow to sun all day if you wish. Only downside was having only one parking space, for a lodge with 3 bedrooms we've always had 2 spaces in other lodges on the site but we managed as next door is for sale and empty so popped a car on that drive for one day to be able to load in the morning.
A beautiful clean lodge .
Lots of space for 4 people. Very convenient location and peaceful. Lots of walks and pubs near by as well as the on site pub.
We had a great few days in Valley View Lodge, it was a fantastic lodge probably one of the nicest ones we've ever stayed in and we have been coming to Troutbeck for years, a real credit to the owners who have really made this a very special and welcoming holiday home.
The lodge had everything we needed and all the comforts for a really relaxing stay. Very comfortable beds including the large king-size bed, great en-suite and bathroom showers and everything we needed with a lovely lounge and kitchen area with large TV. Loved the decking area and just wished we could have spent more time there in spite of the rain! Would definitely like to return. Some great walks and great pubs in and around Troutbeck
Perfect lodge and perfect site.
The lodge was above what we would have expected for a rental. The standard of the interior was amazing and the comfort was unbelievable. Everything that you need for a trip away was available. The pub onsite was also really welcoming and friendly and the food was good.
This lodge was lovely, in a good spot on the site too easy to find.
Nice views & large decking. It was very homely with lots of personal touches. A short walk to the on site pub, The Haybarn Inn which had a welcoming atmosphere. One thing I need to mention is the showers. OMG they were amazing, the water pressure was fabulous. We would happily recommend the lodge to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing break.
Beautiful lodge.
We love our stays here.
The property was absolutely gorgeous.
Very comfortable and of a high standard. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and the lodge had everything we could need or want. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again. Thank you to the owners for providing the lodge for our stay. We had a lovely family break thanks to them.
Amazingly comfortable beds.
Had to hide the air fresheners, too much for us but this is just personal preference. A comfortable stay with great views, we would stay again.
Our 2nd stay at Valley View (we visited in April).
It is perfect and we were delighted with the upgrade to fridge, bathroom sinks and outdoor furniture! Valley view is so welcoming and cosy. Obviously a well loved and looked after property. We will most definitely be back...again!
We have been at this same lodge for 3 years in a row so, we do love the lodge but, we feel it can be really outstanding if you do the following.
One of the small gas hobs is not working and needs looking at. The TV is old and needs updating and you should have smart TV with Netflix and Amazon already logged in. The outside needs a clean as in the chairs, seating area etc... just needs a good power wash each month or each week. The fridge freezer is fine but, needs a good American double fridge freezer to allow for more space. Please switch back on the hot tub. It's a great feature but, unused. The above is my "wish list" when I visit next year again but, overall as mentioned above, we really do like this lodge.
One of the best lodges we have stayed in.
Plenty of space and large beds. Location excellent. Recommended.
Lovely stay at valley view, very clean, in a nice area of the park.
Very modern and nice cabin inside. Very roomy and spacious. Would definitely recommend :)
We celebrated my son in law's 60th birthday in Valley View Lodge.
The lodge is a lovely, comfortable and tastefully decorated place. It was a perfect choice. It was very clean when we arrived, and was full of lovely soft furnishings. There is an abundance of everything from glasses to cutlery and cooking utensils. A great choice and a big thank you to the owners.
We had a great stay at Valley Lodge.
Perfect accomodation for a family of five. It was clean, warm and welcoming. We would lost definitely consider visiting again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Valley view lodge over Christmas.
The lodge was so comfortable and well equipped, it was a pleasure to stay there. This was by far the best lodge that we have stayed at on Limefitt park so far and we are very grateful to the lovely owners for the thought and time that they put into making the lodge such a warm and inviting place to stay. We would love to return again soon
My wife and I have basically been in shielding since the start of covid because I am a kidney transplant reipient.
We were very anxious that any accomodation we book would be clean and a lovely stress free place to stay. The lodge was even better than the pictures and my wife summed it up when she said "WOW" several times upon entering. My wife is quite discerning with holiday accomodation so this is high praise indeed! It was clear that the owners take a lot of pride in this beautiful lodge. Even small things like Netflix being available on TV made it feel like home from home, but with fantastic scenery everywhere. We had a lovely stress free week with temps in the mid 20's We will definitely return and would definitely recommend to others.
Fantastic lodge with amenities for all ages, lots of activities, and entertainment.
Owners have put a lot of thought into the decor and atmosphere. Only thing that we missed was a washing machine.
This lodge was amazing and I am so glad I booked the Valley lodge.
It was cozy, spacious, comfortable, homey, and relaxing with modern decor. The veranda was spacious with amazing views. If we go back to the Lake District, this would be the only lodge we would book. Beds are comfortable, shower is amazing with no problems with hot water. Highly recommend this lodge. Credit to the owners.
Valley View Lodge - Great Lodge but, needs Improving Limefitt Park is quiet, relaxed and has a nice atmosphere.
. There are walks you can go onto directly from the park and the views of mountain from the park are breath taking. We stayed at Valley View Lodge on the park which we have done for the last 2 years. It is clean inside and generally a good lodge. Constructively, I would say the fridge/freezer needs replacing with perhaps an American fridge freezer with more space as current ones are not working as efficiently and limited for space. It also, needs a new modern smart TV as current one again looks old, slow and needs replacing. Apart from that inside of lodge is lovely. The bedrooms/toilets are fine and general facilities great. The outside seating areas needs a good clean and good lick of paint. We found it a bit messy in all honesty this time. Not swept properly or cleaned properly with bird poo on the chairs etc... Plus, it would be an even better lodge if the jacuzzi was available for guests as it is only reserved for private use because of past trouble but, I would say re-open again as the majority are responsible customers, who would respect this area and value the jacuzzi. Overall, a good experience but, needs an improvement now.
we have stayed in many lodges on limefitt and this was the best lodge we have stayed in
I think signs regarding the wood trim around the car park space should have a slippery when wet sign as twice I slipped and one resulted in me completing falling over.
The decking area too. The lodge itself was beautiful and would definitely stay there again.
My family and I had a fantastic stay at View Valley lodge on Limefitt Park.
The lodge was beautiful and we will definitely stay here again. Great location for us to explore the area. We had a wonderful time!
Valley View is a beautiful, spacious lodge and we really enjoyed our stay there.
Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well equipped. If we could offer some constructive feedback, it would be to ask for some blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms as the current ones don't block the light so we were woken up with sunrise every day. Apart from that we we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend it. Thank you!
This lodge is brilliant, even nicer that the photos, thank you
Would like to thank the owners for allowing us to rent their beautiful property.
By far the best lodge we’ve ever been in, including lodges on Limefitt Park. Absolutely loved it. We can assure the owners we treated it with the upmost respect. Thank you.
The lodge was lovely and in beautiful surroundings.
It had everything you would need. The site it is on is very clean and well kept. The lodge could do with some information about the site ie pub opening times and the times they serve meals and shop opening times. The pub on site was really nice and did good food.
The location, the park, and the peacefulness.
We have already rebooted for next year.
Booked this same lodge last year in august.
and again this year, love the location and is really a home from home.Everything is clean and tidy, Shame that the hot tub cannot be used,as probably had someone spoil it for everyone else. The price has jumped considerably for next year so have not booked which is a real shame.
Amazing lodge equipped with every you could need!
Beautiful fixtures and fittings and immaculate Highly recommended to stay at Whinfell 10
Thank you for the great comments. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Valley View, indeed an amazing lodge. The owners are keen for guests to enjoy their lodge as much as they do and will be delighted to read your kind words. We hope to welcome you again soon.
The lodge was really clean and comfortable and furnished to a good standard.
Lots of extra touches- a fan to cool the rooms at it was really hot when we stayed, Netflix available, a wide range of cooking utensils, pots and pans. Everything had been thought of to make the lodge a ‘home away from home’. Showers were powerful and bathrooms were a good size. The twin room was small for two adults but not too much of a problem for us as most of our trip was spent out and about. The site itself felt really peaceful and secluded even though it was the summer holidays. We had a meal on the site which was good- the outdoor beer garden was a real sun trap with great views. It’s close to Windermere and Ambleside and a perfect base for a weekend of exploring. In our two and a half days we managed a trip to Hill Top house which is about 30 minutes drive away, rowing on Lake Windermere, exploring Ambleside and Bowness on Windermere and a long walk around Thirlmere. So much more we want to do and we would definitely recommend Valley View Lodge at Limefitt as a great place to stay!
Lovely lodge in peaceful surroundings.
The lodge is kept to a high standard and would highly recommend.
Valley View is a nice lodge, if a little cluttered.
There didn’t seem to be as much space to move around in the living area as we have had in other lodges at Limefitt. This maybe due to the odd angle of the breakfast bar. It’s also not in as good a position as the other lodges. You feel that you need to have the blinds drawn most of the time as it isn’t too private. My other concern was that it had no DVD player in the living room despite being advertised as having one there. We clarified it with the booking agent when we booked and she confirmed it was advertised as such. We knew the chance of having bad weather over the weekend was high so we had bought DVD’s for the evenings. Sadly the only DVD player was a Playstation in one of the bedrooms. This had a notice on it stating ‘not to be moved’ but there are no available sockets in the living area to plug it in if you did move it. We rang the helpline to ask about the DVD and was told someone would get back to us, we also got a confirming email stating this. Unfortunately no one contacted us so we called the helpline again and was told the DVD player was broken, the person on the helpline also said that judging by the photos it was never in the living area. the person then told us to move the Playstation. We explained there were no available sockets. Just after this call the advert was changed and no longer states that there is a DVD player in the living area. The DVD player may seem like a trivial issue but it was one of the reasons we picked Valley View. We were disappointed with that and the response from the helpline. We were also disappointed that we weren’t told before hand, that it was broken, if that was the case, and the fact the advert was amended after we queried it.
Thank you for your feedback, we have noted your concerns and have passed these over to the lodge owners to look into. We can tell you that the guests prior to your stay reported an issue with the DVD player and was subsequently removed from the lodge to be fixed. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Noting your further comments, we have taken this up with the customer service team. It is most unusual to receive such comments and we would like to think a one off. That said, we are sorry. Valley View is great place to stay and we do hope you will return for another stay soon.
The lodge was immaculately clean and not a spot of dust the furnishing and the thought gone into making this a luxury lodge is second to none, we were very very happy comfy beds excellent quality bedding and pillows the bathrooms are lovely and modern and look brand new!
plenty of storage for clothes etc and a well equipt kitchen, luxury in the lakes ! cannot thank you enough its beautiful and with a beautiful view to match.
Perfect lodge accomodation - clean, spacious and well equipped!
Valley View Lodge provides a lovely stay for groups/families when visiting the Lake District. The lodge accommodates up to 5 people really well, with a bathroom and an en-suite, dining and lounge area and good sized bedrooms with ample storage space. It is situated in Limefitt Park which is well located as local attractions are only a short drive away. There are good walking routes in the surrounding area with great views of the lake and peaks. It has been recently fitted with an outdoor hot tub, which is a welcomed treat, weather permitted - we were lucky to have little rain so enjoyed this greatly. Booking the lodge was very straightforward, and any questions were responded to in a timely manner. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Quality of the accomodation. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk from Troutbeck to Ambleside via Wansfell Pike
splendid holiday at valley view
We had a wonderful stay at valley view. The Hot tub was very relaxing after a long day walking and sight seeing. The Lodge was very well equipped and comfortable and value for money. We would highly recommend to friends and family. And we hope to visit again very soon. What did you enjoy most about your stay? see review What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Boat trip on windermere
A relaxing family holiday
Valley View was everything we expected it to be and more having stayed in other lodges at Limefitt on several occasions before. Modern, spacious and well equipped we especially picked it as it has three bedrooms which better suits our family plus it has the added bonus of a newly fitted hot tub. The welcome at the Haybarn was as friendly as ever and the food was delicious. We enjoyed walking although, as we were blessed with a heatwave, not as much as I would have liked. A lovely morning was spent on the Teal on Lake Windermere. The river pool was fantastic this year and we even had a go at pony trekking. We had a couple of issues during our stay and Mark at Lake District Lodge Holidays was very helpful and sorted them straight away, unfortunately the reception staff at Limefitt were not so helpful as they have been in previous years as they told us our lodge "wasn't one of theirs" as we had booked with an agent (which we have aways done?) so I would suggest if you have any issues, no matter how small, contact Mark direct. A fantastic time was had by all and should hopefully be returning again soon. What did you enjoy most about your stay? relaxing, peace and quiet What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? the river pool for children
in a word....lovely
From arrival to departure. Nothing to complain about. Even the rain didn't seem to bother us. Beautiful location . Limefitt park owners and staff most accommodating and site maintained well. Good job laundry room on site as the washer-dryer facilities offered at Valley View lodge is incorrect...There isn't one! Lodge is well furnished and everything needed was to hand. Will return.
Late summer break
Superb accommodation in a perfect location, will most likely return again next year. Only negative; there were no washer drier as advertised. Highly recommended. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Comfortable / central location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Great walking and photographic opportunities
Fantastic relaxing break
We enjoyed every second of our stay. The lodge had everything we needed and it was all of a fantastic standard. Well looked after. Washer / Dryer was advertised but not there, not essential but would have been useful for drying towels after use in the hot tub. The hot tub was fantastic, we were lucky with the weather and were able to sit out a lot in beautiful surrounding it was bliss. Meals were also very good in the Haybarn and we would recommend. We will deffinately come back and stay in the same lodge we felt at home right from the first second. Staff also at reception were great. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Probably the hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Bowness on Windermere was lovely, lovely scenery.
Chill out at Valley View
The lodge was perfect for a relaxing holiday, especially the hot tub. The lodge was well equipped for domestic use ie. cooking and leisure use ie. Playsaation 3. The holiday park was well kept and very clean. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Plenty to do at the lodge, plenty of good walks near the holiday park, and a good base for exploring the Lake District. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk up the fell, path at the side of the Haybarn pub.
Wow - Valley View Lodge A*****
What can we say...so amazing! Cant say much more. The stay from start to finish was so brilliant. Hot tub so lush, although it was December we still got good use out of it (despite the rain) so nice to be in warm bubbly water with the rain coming down! We went for my fiance's 40th birthday and cooked a steak meal-every utencil we could have hoped for was there which was great. I loved the fact they provide things like tin foil, kitchen roll and toilet roll which added to the helpfulness. Lots of lush towels also. Only grip is there was no full length mirror, but hey, we werent really looking in mirrors much! Also of mention- the pub just 2 minutes from the lodge was great - lovely food. Thank you all at Limefitt Park - we'll certainly return, David & Jill What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub and the luxury cabin What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Hot tub
Xmas break
This is a spacious & well equiped lodge in a peaceful location. The single beds are not really suitable for adults, as they are on the small side, but i imagine would probably be fine for children. The en-suite smelt of damp so could do with more maintaining. The hot tub would benefit with a canopy of some sort, as it would be nicer to use when raining. Overall though enjoyed our stay here, had everything we needed. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Bowness
A lovely stay at Valley View!
We really enjoyed our stay at Valley View recently and would definitely rebook in the future. The lodge was immaculate when we arrived with everything we needed and more. I took crockery for my two children but shouldn't have bothered as they had plastic plates, dishes, cups and cutlery which was fantastic. The lodge was really cosy and easy to heat up. The hot tub was a brilliant addition to the lodge, especially after long days out. The beds were really comfy, pretty much home from home! Overall, we had a lovely time! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Cosiness, comfiness and hot tub! What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Gruffalo's child walk at Whinlatter forest.
7 Night stay at Valley View
Comfort and condition were both excellent and the site is in a good position for exploring the Lake District.Just one moan that the lighting for the Hot Tub was not working and despite reporting it on the day of arrival no remedial action was taken during the entire length of our stay.Whilst this may sound trivial it did make the Hot Tub area quite dangerous at night. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Very comfortable bed and good quality Hot Tub. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Drive along Kirkstone Pass and walk up Aira Force.
Beautiful views and home away from home
Excellent lodge, very comfortable and so lovely. Everything you could need for a great break. Hot tub an absolute bonus. Maps and walking information very useful. Lovely pub on site and a very warm welcome by all staff. Would definitely come back. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The relaxing atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Ambleside is a lovely place to visit for shops etc. Loved walking around Grasmere.
Cycling for 4
Stayed 27th April - 1sy May our group booking this lodge as a base for 3 days cycling. On arrival the hot tub was ready to go. A few essential items were in the lodge, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls. The lodge was very clean and had most items you could hope for although didn't find a frying pan but that might be for safety reasons. The weather wasn't great with snow and heavy rain. This makes one hell of a noise on the roof of the cabin so if you are a light sleeper take earplugs. There was no secure storage for our bikes meaning they were left out in the rain overnight. There was plenty of outside seats although not used due to weather. The onsite pub had good food at decent prices and was quiet during our visit. The area was very quiet and peaceful with nice scenery. I would definitely return in the future. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Pub
Ambrose family and friends
Our 4th stay at Valley view lodge and once again can not be faulted Place as always immaculate Provisions a plenty Hot tub great What more can I say but thanks to Pat and Terry once again and yes we will be returning again!! Thanks What did you enjoy most about your stay? hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? location
Nice weekend away
It was an absolute gorgeous log cabin in a gorgeous location. The beds were very comfy. There was everything you would need away from home such as all the kitchen utensils etc. Hot tub was amazing the only down fall is your not allowed in hot tub after 10pm. If we were a loud group having a party then I would understand but we were a couple enjoying a relaxing weekend. We were having a quiet drink in the hot tub at 10.05pm and the park security guard came around and told us to get out! So that was a bit rubiish. But rules are rules I guess. It definitely ruined our night. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Boat ride
excellent stay at valley view
My husband and I stayed midweek at valley view with our 2 year old and my father. It is very well equipped with everything you could need and finished to a high standard. Spotlessly clean. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? beautiful countryside all around the area....
Our stay at Valley View
Valley View is the ideal family base for a brilliant holiday. The lodge is very well appointed, beautifully presented and very comfortable. The third bedroom and the hot tub really made the difference for us. We also made extensive use of the leisure facilities at Low Wood and with two teenage children this added a lot to the holiday. Food at the HayBarn was excellent and Limefitt is well positioned for exploring the area and local amenities but at the same time peaceful and in a wonderful rural position. What did you enjoy most about your stay? So many things to do - walking, cycling, boating etc What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Hire some bikes, take the ferry and cycle the route to Hawshead and Hilltop.
What a lovely lodge to stay in
The valley view lodge is so comfortable and relaxing plus it is a great location central to explore the lakes I e Windermere Ambleside grassmere and so on had a relaxing holiday will be going again next year would recommend it to family and friends . Walking round Ambleside really relaxing and the food in the apple pie is just delicious
A stay in valley view
The only things I would change would be the sofa's the back were to low ( for pensioners ). Otherwise the lodge was very comfortable especially the en-suite double. One other thing would have been a help some info on using the dvd and cooker timer. I am being a bit picky but it may help. Otherwise the lodge was first class and we will use it again in the future. Hope this helps. Don Corns What did you enjoy most about your stay? Being able to relax at the end of a day out in our own little heaven. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? It would depend on age. We had a 19 year old with us who was happy just wandering round with us. So everything was good.
Valley View
We had actually booked to stay at Whitecross Bay hwoever it was flooded due to recent storms and we where offered this beautiful lodge as an alternative. I must say it was a beautiful lodge and well kept with lots of little extras. The hot tub was lovely - only wee point is that the owners may consider putting an umbrella over this to help when raining/or indeed sunny. The single beds in the twin room or really small though so if two couples going this is a bit uncomfy if you are more than average size(but considering we where offered this lodge as a quick plan) we were more than happy with it. Location is lovely and very quite surroundings. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peacefulness What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Boat Trips on Lake Winderemere and Car Museum
Winter Break
Valley View is a spacious comfortable lodge ideally situated for exploring the glorious Lake District the only thing you cant guarantee is the weather ,the on site pub is run by friendly staff and the food was great and you can enjoy a drink and warm by the fire, the hot tub at Valley view is a great way to unwind at the end of a days exploring we also made use of the excellent facilities at Low Wood iesure which is included in the booking of this great lodge. It will be hard to find one to beat this lodge but wont stop us trying for the next winter break. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Everything What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? If the weather is bad use Low Wood Facilities
It Rained All Weekend But...
We really enjoyed out stay and plan on returning during the summer to more adventuring outdoors. The lodge was clean and provided almost everything we needed for a comfortable stay away from home.
Peace and quiet at Troutbeck
The lodge is very nice and spotlessly clean. The double bedroom was great, the 2 singles fine but the beds are close together. The single bedroom good and plenty big enough for an adult. The weather was very good for April and the sun is at the front of the lodge all day which is great if you want to sit out. There is plenty outdoor furniture. The site was lovely and peaceful but only a short drive into Windermere. Only used the hot tub once but is was fine and very clean. Had a minor issue which Lake District Lodges dealt with immediately. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peace and quiet and countryside. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? A day out in Bowness. Nice shops and eateries.
Lodge was excellent, clean modern comfortable, hot tub was a bonus.
We really enjoyed our stay at Valley View it was the perfect lodge located in a peaceful location close to lake windermere and its attractions.Communication from staff at Lake district holidays was also first class would definitely return and would recommend to family and friends. What did you enjoy most about your stay? comfortable lodge with excellent facilities and superb hot tub after long day walking What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? national trust airaforce walk arond ullswater.steam train at ravenglass to delgarth with walk to waterfalls.
Amazing lodge. Lovely location
We had a fabulous stay. The lodge is spacious, clean and we'll equiped. We've already booked again. The pub on site was lovely. Lots of nice walks too. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Exploring the area What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? A drink in the beer garden at The Haybarn Inn
10 out of 10!!
Beautiful lodge, it had all the home comforts you could wish for, comfortable beds which are a must after a busy day. We were provided with a highchair and travel cot no problem. We had fantastic weather all weekend which was lovely the only downside the hot tub was too hot to use 41 degrees!, need instructions on how to turn the temperature down. The lodge was on a quiet site with beautiful views and only a short car ride into Windermere, where there is plenty to do. We enjoyed a gentle boat ride on the lake which the kids loved. The site also had a great restaurant and bar very nice food and child friendly. Thank you and wonderful break had by all, we will be back hopefully for longer next time. What did you enjoy most about your stay? lovely lodge, very quiet site and beautiful weather. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Boat trip on lake windermere.
A fantastic holiday
We all had a great time, we all loved the hot tub especially the children. We went out to the nearby Zoo which the kids enjoyed and also rented a boat out on Windermere to do some fishing and we all loved that. We shall definitely be returning next year with the rest of the family. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The whole experience. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? We hired a boat on Windermere which was great.
Excellent standard of accomodation, quite park, good swimming pool.
The park itself is in a wonderful situation on the Kirkstone pass road/valley. Very clean/litter free and high standard of accommodation throughout. Valley view itself is one of the best cabins/cottages I have ever stayed in. 3 TV linked to DVD player so children can watch one or two while you watch something else, kitchen equipped with everything you need fridge/freezer ..en-suite shower was power shower so really nice to wake up to. Hot tub was..hot!...not luke warm and worth the extra money. nice playpark, ate once in haybarn hotel [only because it's more difficult controlling children if you have to eat inside the pub - would have eaten more often without children). valley view itself was cleaned to a very good standard an is obviously quite a new cabin. The park itself is quite (not yet English school holidays when we were there just Scottish schools off) my children would probably have preferred a few more..but plenty others will welcome that. membership of the local health/fitness centre is complimentary - really nice warm pool, hot sauna/spa...reception people at health club were generally youngsters presumably on minimum wage so you got the relevant standard of service. And as for park itself-so clean/litter free - even the sandpit in the playpark is raked smooth in evening/early morning. My only downside was the Wi-Fi was pretty poor - sometimes non-existant - my opinion for family holiday is children use Wi-Fi for so much that next year it will be one of the factors we consider when choosing somewhere - even if we had to pay What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub, standard of accomodation What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Brokhole fore children, treetop walk with zip wire, treetop nets etc
Brilliant location, Great Stay!!!
We were a party of 5, stayed at the lodge for three days and absolutely loved it. The lodge is located by great landscape with breath taking views, although it was pouring down! Apparently monsoon like rain is quite normal there! It is well maintained, kept very clean. It is also reasonably close to Windermere lake where you have the town centre. The pony trekking which is within the park is fun to do. We were travelling from South of the country on a Friday night after work, with all the traffic got there past mid night. Although I have been told where the lodge keys were kept, vehicle access gate was shut (it can only be operated using a key fob, which can only be obtained during the day) therefore we couldnt get our car close to the lodge to unload our luggage. Therefore we had to park outside and carry our luggage, the rain definitely didnt help! Inspite of that we had a wonderful stay and can definitely see myself back there again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Well maintained and clean place What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Pony trek
Nice enough lodge, wouldn't go back to Limefitt park.
nice lodge, a bit scruffy in places.. And not even 1 loo roll on arrival. Living area very cramped. Previous guests laundry left at lodge in a bag for our entire stay. Excellent main bedroom v comfy and spacious. Really good shower too. Nice hot tub. Limefitt Park is FULL of dogs, and they yapped non stop which was very annoying. Noisy ppl next door to us- noisy til 1am so none of us could sleep. Park very clean tho, and would b lovely without people letting their dogs bark continuously. Company great for booking with- hassle free and super efficient. All in all an OK lodge but needs decor issues sorted- paper hanging off wall... Limefitt Park clean but noisy. Wouldn't stay again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Lake District is stunning What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Hire a boat on the lake
A beautiful lodge equipped with all the luxuries to enjoy a relaxing break.

Fabulous Valley View
A very well appointed lodge with the benefit of a private hot tub. Situated on a quiet site tucked away in a beautiful valley, very close to Windermere. A great base to explore the lakes whether by rosd or on foot. Would certainly stay there again. Lake District Lodge Holidays provided excellent customer service. Great lodge in a great location
We had a great stay in valley view, lodge was lovely and modern and very clean and cosy. Lovely quiet location not far from windermere. The hot tub was fabulous, especially on the cold nights. Beautiful unspoilt surroundings and some great local walks to do. Overall we had a lovely time and would highly recommend!! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Most definatly the hot tub. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? We walked up wansfell pike which was lovely and not too tiring! Beautiful views over windermere and ambleside once your reached the summit
Fantastic Christmas Break
Our family stayed at this lodge over the festive break and had such an amazing time. The lodge itself is very clean and modern but also very cozy and homely with everything you need. The hot tub was a luxury and we made full use of it whilst enjoying the fabulous views that the lodge has. Limefitt is our most favorite of sites being very quiet and scenic with very friendly staff at both reception and the bar. Additionally the booking company, Lake District Lodge Holidays, were found to be very efficient and helpful as always. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Everything! What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Lodge with a hot tub
Good location

Valley View
Couldn't fault the lodge it was wonderful. Shame you couldn't use the hot tub after 9:30pm. Reception staff didn't seem to know if the lodges were ready or not, nor did the site warden we just had to check it ourselves, bit of communication breakdown. Little disappointed with the variety of meals up at the Haybarn, if staff didn't turn it was one menu if they do it was the full menu. We stayed for three nights over the weekend and we had the no staff menu all weekend!!! I tried everything on the menu. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The Lodge and Windermere What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Canoeing

Nice lodge
We enjoyed our stay but there was a minor issue with the lodge (one of the cupboard boards was hanging off) and we felt the signs up near the hot tub threatening to deactivate it for the remainder of our stay if we weren't out by 9.50pm made us worry about time and not relax as much as we would have liked to. I understand the reasons this has been put in place but this has put us off wanting to book again. Still, the lodge is in a great location, very comfortable and clean. Nice lay out and very well equipped kitchen. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Walks around the Troutbeck area What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk to the Queens Head. Lovely pub.

Stay at Valley View - Dec23-27 2017
We really enjoyed our stay at Valley View over Christmas 2017. The lodge is very well equipped, comfortable, in a great location and clean on the inside. The lodge was also decorated tastefully for Christmas which was a nice touch . There were 5 of us staying in the lodge and we felt very comfortable and at home. We are not regulars to the lake district, so we found the information provided by the host, on places to visit and suggested walks, very useful. the lodge is in a very good location too, as we managed to visit Ambleside and Windermere easily . An excellent choice for a family getaway What did you enjoy most about your stay? Very comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Coffin walk from Grassmere to Rydal, then walk round Rydal water and Grassmere

Return visit 2018
Excellent property in a great location. We enjoyed our second stay in this property. The only downside is that the owners have now stopped guests using the hottub. No doubt had problems with some guests, but we were disappointed. We were informed prior to our visit and chose to still come. Will most likely go elsewhere next year. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Close to the lakes.

We had a really enjoyable week at Limefitt Park. The lodge was everything we needed and really home from home. It was very clean, modern with excellent facilities. Didn't want to come home.....
We are a family of 3 who stayed at the Valley View Lodge from 17/10 to 21/10/18 over the October Break. We only booked this the night before travel and have to say everything regarding the booking was quick, clear, easy & great price too. Louise from Lake District Lodge holidays was very helpful and prompt with her reply to my queries, if only everything was this easy! We will defo be using your company again in the future and will be recommending your company. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The lodge is immaculate with lots of little touches to make your stay more comfortable, TV in 2 bedrooms with DVD players and selection of DVDs, PlayStation in guest bedroom which we only discovered on last day, dishwasher in kitchen, iron & iron board etc and every utensil you would ever need in the kitchen for cooking etc. You can tell the Valley View lodge has been well looked after, it is beautifully decorated and everything is coordinated perfectly in all the rooms plus it is only 2 mins walk from the little pub in the park called the Haybarn Inn, a great wee friendly cosy pub where you can grab a bite to eat, have a few drinks, watch the footy and get cosy by the fire and its very reasonable too! A bit disappointed there was a hot tub and we weren't able to use it due to past guests inconsideration, such a shame when other people spoil it for everyone else but hopefully when we come back in the future the rules may have changed :) Thank you so much for a great stay, we will 10000% be back soon! What did you enjoy most about your stay? Clean & comfortable lodge, great location and very peaceful, What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? go on one of the boats at Windermere, we loved it!
Christmas at Valley View
We had a very enjoyable Christmas at Valley View - with all the home comforts we needed! The Christmas tree and other decorations provided helped make it very festive! We were extremely comfortable and were able to relax and enjoy a very Happy Christmas away from the stress and strain of everyday life, and no extended family to spoil it! Only the weather put a dampener on things a bit, but being in the Lake District, we did expect rain, but it was really just misty. Nonetheless when the sky was clear, the landscape was spectacular. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The home comforts of the Lodge. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The walk from Skelwith Bridge to Elterwater and a very decent pint at the Britannia Inn
Remarkable Lodge
One if the best places I've ever been. Its poind our expectation. We love the lodge as its our home. It has lots of entertainments for all family members. Me and my family had a brilliant time during our stay at valley View Lodge, the accommodation was excellent, clean and tidy.. my daughter loved the little park which was only a few minutes walk. Everything What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Visiting different parts of the Lake District.
Our stay at Valley Lodge
We all thought the lodge was beautiful and very clean. However we wouldn't stay at that site again because there were too many dogs and also it wasn't very private. The onsite pub and bar was also full of dogs. It's a shame because the owners of our lodge obviously took time to make sure the lodge was very clean and comfortable for their guests. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The fresh air. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? We took the children to see Beatrix Potter
Lovely homely lodge - we didn't want to go home!

Christmas short break with family
The lodge is very clean warm and comfortable, with all the kitchen appliances you would need. We stayed over Christmas, however, and found the half size fridge too small to accommodate all of the food, never mind the fizz! We had to keep our drinks outside on the veranda and then put it in the freezer just before drinking it, which wasn What did you enjoy most about your stay? Being altogether with family over Christmas
Amazing place.
I have been on many holidays abroad, but this lodge and it What did you enjoy most about your stay? The weather and being able to chill out, seeing how beautiful the Lake District is What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? You have to try the post office tea room in to troutbeck, the staff there are lovely.
BELOW PAR
Not clean enough only top show and considering extra time said required for Covid, it did not meet standards even without Covid. It could be great if it had a deep clean, freshened up and maintained better- blinds all need serious attention , guttering needs repairing as rain pouring, decking needs a very deep clean scrub and sanatising ! Cleaners need supervising as it appears to be only top show cleaned. Very dissapointed considering top prices charged Lake District Lodge boking agents informed.too many points to mention here. What did you enjoy most about your stay? coming homemfrom the lodge BUT the staff at LIMFEFITT PARK were very good and Haybarn staff in particular. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? visit western lakes area
Short but very sweet
We were booked for 4 nights over New Year but within an hour of arriving Boris scuppered that and we only had one night before we had to return home. However, that one night was enough to confirm that this is a fantastic lodge - clean, well furnished and in a fantastic location, with the bonus of Netflix! There were a couple of minor points (bathroom door hook hanging off) but overall a lovely, well cared for property that we would happily return to, preferably next time for more than just one night (please Boris) What did you enjoy most about your stay? Cost and comfortable What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Walk round to Ambleside, back over Wansfel and then eat at the Mortal Man
