Description

Wansfell Retreat is a beautiful, high specification lodge at Limefitt Park, enjoying impressive uninterrupted views across the valley to the fells and sleeps six guests plus an infant in a travel cot.

There is a spacious deck from which to relax and unwind after a day exploring the local villages and attractions.

The perfect place to enjoy a welcome break from everyday life and just kick back and drink in those views, perhaps with your morning coffee or evening sundowner.

Your lodge is located in one of the loveliest parks in the area – surrounded by the Troutbeck Valley, with beautiful fells and views all around.

Only four miles from Windermere village, a bustling vibrant centre with shops, pubs and cafes; or a mile further on to the cosmopolitan Bowness with steam cruises, restaurants and shops.

Back at Limefitt, you have two great local pubs in walking distance, there’s a dog-friendly pub and small shop on site, children’s playground and nearby you can enjoy pony-trekking with a third party provider too.

You can literally walk from your front door up on the pathways above to the Garburn Pass and onto High Street.

Or if you fancy a potter around lovely quiet lanes there is plenty to choose from.

On the other side of the valley is Wansfell Pike and over to Ambleside.

Driving to Ambleside is around four miles, and Glenridding the village on the shores of Ullswater is ten miles away.

A wonderful place to make special memories with your loved ones

We had a lovely stay at Wansfell Retreat and will definitely be back.

The views are outstanding, the lodge feels very homely and the park and the pub were great also! The only down points for us were that the bedding in the main bedroom looks like it's seen its best days as do the towels, everything else we couldn't fault and were sad to leave. Another little point to mention.. the balustrade to the front left by the table and chairs is loose also which is quite dangerous if someone leans on it, not sure if anyone has noticed this.

We have always loved this lodge we've returned 3 times now.

Lovely open plan living space with a newly fitted kitchen. Really good washer/dryer and spacious bedroom and bathrooms. Lovely elevated location and view of the hills. There were a few things I just wanted to point out for general upkeep.....bed 1 the right hand side of the bed feels like the mattress is dipping on the far side nearest to the window so you feel like you are falling out of the bed. Bed 2- the TV does not work we tried and could not get this to turn on. Kitchen- there are no full sets of glasses just 2 or 3 of each type of glass there was no full set of wine glasses for the christmas dinner table! Outside- the steps to the cabin has no light and is very very dark so could do with having a bright light installed to see where the steps are. Bath towells- these have been the same for some years now, bit small and not big enough to wrap around an adult. Many thanks Louise
