Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location, the beautiful lake views and the layout of the lodge. We were naturally disappointed to read your comments regarding cleanliness, particularly as they are very much at odds with the consistently high scores and positive feedback we receive from the vast majority of our guests. Following your stay, we carefully reviewed the photographs provided and carried out a thorough investigation. Whilst we accept that some areas highlighted required attention which we would have like the opportunity to rectify them while you stayed, it was noted that several of the photographs were taken from locations and angles not ordinarily visible during normal use of the lodge, including elevated areas around the fly-light fitting. Nevertheless, we take all guest comments seriously and shared your observations with our housekeeping team so that any issues could be addressed immediately. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, and we are proud of the standards regularly recognised by our guests. We regret that your experience did not reflect those standards and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

Regarding the ironing board — we do provide one in the lodge, so it appears it may have been removed or taken at some point. Thank you for mentioning it; we’ve now replaced it to ensure it’s available for future guests. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m pleased you liked the position of the lodge, but I’m sorry to hear there were aspects that didn’t meet your expectations. I do need to clarify a couple of points you’ve mentioned. The high chair is our own and is kept inside the lodge for guests to use — it is not hired externally and therefore would never be collected. Regarding the decking railing: this was reported immediately after your departure and was photographed by the site team with time‑stamped before‑and‑after evidence. I appreciate that you dispute this, but unfortunately the damage was present and documented. As Sykes manage our property, they are handling the matter directly and have already been provided with the full set of photographs and timings. I’m sorry that your stay wasn’t what you hoped for, and I do take all feedback seriously. Emma

It's great to know that the beds were comfortable. The same day change in guest meant we had little time to source on unusual shape loo seat quickly, and the special order took longer than we had liked but we certainly appreciated your support in using the other toilet, its always frustrating when guest don't inform us of damages for them to be discovered upon departure as its gives us little time to rectify. However that said we are so so glad you had a relaxing break and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
