We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The chalet was first class, lovely location, the wildlife was entertaining, we will be happy to go there again.

A lovely comfortable lodge in a beautiful peaceful setting.

Immaculately clean. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Lovely bedding, towels and an extremely well equipped kitchen (although would benefit from a dishwasher). Enjoyed relaxing and watching the red squirrels coming for their breakfast! Nice countryside around and not too far to Ullswater, Keswick, Penrith, etc. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful, relaxing holiday in a quieter part of the lakes.

A very relaxing fortnight's stay with plenty of entertainment from the red squirrels.

Easy reach of Greystoke village with a v good pub - The Boot & Shoe and would thoroughly recommend a visit and tour around Greystoke Castle. Tour guide was the owner who is in the process of renovating this beautiful building. Very attractive and extensive grounds as well. North lakes within easy reach but consider visiting the Eden valley to the East of Penrith - gentle afternoon's walk taking in the restored viaducts and the beautiful Eden River. Impressive cascades visible from the millenium bridge near the Viaduct Trust Car Park.

Lovely cabin and excellent for nature and wild life.

Only downside was no welcome pack and had to travel 6 miles to get some milk not good after long journey

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean lodge.

We particularly loved feeding and watching all the red squirrels. We'd definitely like to come back again!

Holmedell was amazing.

Much more than we had all expected. It is in a lovely setting and so peaceful. The lodge is super-comfy and extremely clean. Everything we needed was at our fingertips and it is furnished to a high standard. Although in a peaceful location, Dukes Meadow is only five minutes by car from Greystoke which is a gorgeous little village. On behalf of my Husband and Sister, I would highly recommend Holmedell. Anyone who rents this lodge will not be disappointed. Well done all at Holmedell.

The Lodge was excellent for our family holiday.

Well maintained, with all necessary facilities available. Beds were comfortable, and all was spotless. We all enjoyed our holiday immensely and would certainly return. My wife has a feather allergy which we forgot to inform the holiday company about. As a result we had feather pillows/duvet. Anyone with such an allergy should be aware that, if they require a change of bedding, they should let the owners know in advance. We bought new bedding while there, rather than wait some days for replacements.

Weather was glorious for the whole of our stay and we extended it by 2 days and thankfully the owners were very accommodating with our request.

The lodge itself was wonderful with the glorious weather and birds ,squirrels and the rest of nature very peaceful and restful will definitely be coming again thank you .

Only one thing we found that let it down, we wished it had been within walking distance to a pub/restaurant.

It is located in a beautiful setting though!

The property is very well appointed and maintained and we had everything we needed.

The location is perfect for quiet relaxation. We much appreciated welcome drinks and treats.

Delightful cottage in a super setting .

The cottage came with an abundance of things that made our stay so easy and had been so attentively thought about for guest needs . It was spotless with top quality dressing throughout . We had a wonderful stay and will be back for sure .

Lovely, comfy and very well equiped.

Plenty of wardrobe space, and to put your coats and shoes We cooked a few nights and found everything we needed. Peaceful and relaxing, we had 2 red squirrels visit and filled up the feeders with the supplies left.

Holmedell Lodge was perfect, it was very well stocked with kitchen utensils and was warm and welcoming.

The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was a decent size, the wardrobes were lovely and to be honest we couldn't fault the lodge at all. We had a beautiful squirrel on the balcony getting food out of the holder's and we were only about 6 feet away, inside the lodge. We had snowfall the day before we were due to leave and the lodge was still lovely and warm. We would definitely stay again.

Very quiet, great location - well laid out and great shower, although the double bed was too small for 2 tall adults.

We loved our stay at Homedell.

It is in a beautiful place, quiet and secluded. Lots of wildlife ( squirrels, Foxes, Badgers and an array of wild birds) The property is lovely, clean and comfortable. There is everything you will need for a great holiday. The beds are comfortable which is a bonus. We would definitely recommend this property and will return as soon as possible.

This is a really wonderful place to spend a holiday.

The setting is a very peaceful and tranquil holiday park with the lodges well spaced out in beautiful grounds. Plenty of wildlife roaming around, including the red squirrels eating just outside the living room. The lodge was immaculately clean with everything we needed and more being provided. Its a very comfortable place to stay and has all the facilities you need for a break. The location is superb, being in the heart of the Lakes and close enough to local places of interest. Highly recommended. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The property was very clean and well equipped.

The only issue was the cleanliness of the outside furniture and decking area, it didn't look like it had been cleaned for months.

Beautiful lodge with beautiful views, exactly as described, definitely worth visiting and would recommend booking.

Cottage was lovely, cleanest I’ve stayed in for a long time.

Only thing was there were no nice places to walk the dog way from the cottages.

Lovely lodge in a nice quiet location.

Our dog loved watching the rabbits and hens playing near the pond, with the occasional red squirrel making a visit. The lodge was nice and clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need for self catering, more than usual for other lodges, which was a nice touch. We were welcomed with a couple of complementary drinks in the fridge. Only downside is there are what we think to be mice venturing into the roof or wall cavities. Every night between 11-3am we were woken up to loud scratching and gnawing noises in the ceiling above the bed. One night in particular it continued for about an hour, it sounded as if something was attempting to gnaw its way into the room, I had to resort to knocking the ceiling with the sweeping brush in the hopes of scaring it off, I even popped outside to to make sure there was nothing on the roof, whatever it is sounds determined to get in, as it kept coming back.

They have thought of everything you need.

A home from home.

Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need for self-catering and more. This last week has been very hot so could have done with a fan as lodge got very warm. The outside area is well equipped with tables, chairs and parasol. A BBQ was also provided and all set ready to use. The site is very quiet and peaceful.

Wow, we booked the holmedell cabin for a relaxing break over the Christmas holidays and what a relaxing break it was, first off the cabin itself was better than it appears in the advertising, it has everything we needed inside and more, it’s placed in a lovely quit spot with no passing traffic or people on the edge of a large beautiful pond and the wildlife is a joy to sit and watch, if you want peace and tranquillity here it is.

We had a fantastic stay at Holmedell.

The lodge was clean, cosy and comfortable and contained everything we needed and more. It is in a great location and we loved watching the wildlife out of the windows, particularly the red squirrels. Highly recommended this lodge and would love to return.

Holmedell is a lovely homely lodge on a small peaceful holiday park.

The lodge itself has everything you need for a relaxing break and is in a good location for exploring the Lakes. Would definitely go again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Holmedell was stunning!

It had everything and more than what we needed, extremely clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Perfect for a few nights away in the lakes. My parter and dog enjoyed the wildlife while i enjoyed the peace with a glass of wine. It was perfect.

Beautiful cabin and so clean. Well equipped. Couldn’t have wanted more.

This place should be available on prescription as a cure for the stresses of life.

The location was perfect for exploring the Lakes from the coast to the top of the highest mountain in England. There is quite literally everything you need in the lodge which was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully organised. The welcome pack of milk, but juice, wine and beers was a nice gesture too, t The lodge is situated at the end of the site, so no cars are passing, ensuring plenty of privacy too. In addition, there is the pleasure of watching the cheeky red squirrels that turn up throughout the day to feed and scamper about just outside the doorway. Although the weather was not great when we stayed, the lodge is well located to explore other attractions and near local shopping for food or for dining out. We are already planning to return as we felt so at home there.

Sykes Cottages customer service was really helpful in flexing the start and end rental dates for the lodge (a number of other competitors refused to budge even though they are available!

). The lodge is situated in a very serene surrounding, away from the busy parts of the lakes, about 20-30 mins drive from Keswick. Lodge is very well equipped and comfortable. Will definitely come back again!

Have been a number of times now.

everything is great,beautiful area And very easy to navigate to from the motorway.Only one disappointing thing the forest is still closed and there is no information on when or if it will open for walking again,this is quite a big factor for us as it was such a beautiful place to walk.However the accommodation is fantastic and I will return in the near future.Highlly recommended. was a couple of issues, minor ones but important, Sykes were on the ball ,and were solved in hours, top job Sykes

This is one of the best Sykes holidays I have been on.

There is everything you can think of for an enjoyable holiday albeit going out or staying in. It was everything we were looking for...... peace and quiet, really clean with entry of entertainment I.e. games,dvds and books.

Lovely lodge in a lovely quiet setting with everything we needed

The lodge is lovely, set in very tranquil surroundings with lots of visiting wildlife.

There were ample facilities in the accommodation, suited for all weather conditions. Our hosts had left a lovely welcome gift which was much appreciated and it was just a shame we were only there for a few days. Nearby are some beautiful lakes and lots of lovely places to visit. I think if I could suggest a couple of improvements, they'd be a lighter weight duvet as it was far too heavy for the sunny weather conditions and an electric fan would be good. Really enjoyable short break.

Loads to do in driving distance. I don't think I've ever slept in a bed so comfy away from home!
