Dershel Lodge
Description
Nestled moments away from the coast in Southerness, Dumfries and Galloway on the popular Parkdean holiday park is Dershel Lodge.
This luxurious lodge benefits from off-road parking for two cars, a wrap-around decking with views across the golf course, on-site amenities including an indoor pool, bar, restaurant, adventure playground and wildlife nature trail as well as a spacious open-plan living space welcoming up to six guests.
Cross the threshold and settle down on the plush sofa in front of the flickering warmth of the electric flame-effect stove and watch on as the designated chef of the group makes themselves at home in the fully-equipped kitchen.
Lay the table ready to sample their culinary creation and tuck in while reminiscing on the memories you have created so far, if the sun is shining why not step outside to savour golden hour with a glass of wine.
When the sun disappears behind the horizon, head inside to wash away the day’s adventures in the sleek bathroom before sloping off to sleep in either of the king-size bedrooms; one of which boasts a handy en-suite shower room.
If you can tear yourself away from this fantastic site and property, head to Southerness beach where you can amble through its rocky terrain, tour the lighthouse, and admire the breath-taking views across the sea, on clear days you may even be able to spot the Isle of Man.
The coast houses other wondrous attractions including the Mares Braids Waterfall hiking route which meanders through whimsical leafy woodland and rewards guests with a beautiful waterfall; there is also the Bainloch Deer Park which runs guided tours and even offers the opportunities to feed the resident deer!
Venture inland to explore the John Paul Jones Museum, the impressive medieval Caerlaverock Castle which boasts its own moat, the ruins of Sweetheart Abbey or the former home of the famous poet Robert Burns.
All of this and more awaits at Dershel Lodge.

What guests are saying
It was a great place to stay, not a bad walk from entertainment and the beach, the only down fall was not being able to book activities because it was booked via a private booking.
But over all it was great.
Had a lovely stay.
The Lodge was very impressive, lots of space. It had everything we could possibly need. We will definitely recommend and be back. Thank you
The accommodation was spacious, light and clean.
A really well thought out space and beautiful location so close to the wild untouched coast. It’s part of a larger holiday resort which is tacky but if you speak to the Reception staff they allow you to purchase passes for £13 to use the swimming pool etc. so it’s only worth it if you’re likely to go a few times. The kitchen utensils are very basic so I’m glad we brought our own knives etc. The pans are in a poor state and need replacing. There were no written instructions in the house at all- so some info about the utilities, facilities would be good. Locking the door is tricky, I think the handle needs replacing. But overall we really enjoyed our stay.
