We had a wonderful stay at Whisk Away Cottage and would certainly recommend it as a stylish, comfortable base for exploring the Eden Valley and wider area.

The location is truly spectacular, offering stunning views of mountains and open fields on all sides. Having the car park so close was a huge convenience, especially after long days of walking and sightseeing. The property was in excellent condition and thoughtfully stocked with essential amenities like tea, sugar, and toiletries. We also loved the convenience of having TVs in every room - a great touch for avoiding any entertainment squabbles! Check-in was entirely straightforward thanks to the clear instructions provided. We used the pool at the resort and it was a good size, clean and well-maintained. Regarding some common points raised by previous guests, we found the shower pressure to be perfectly adequate once we adjusted the controls. However, the design of the overhead shower does lead to some water splashing onto the bathroom floor, and we did notice an odour from the drains that could be resolved with a deep clean. While our cottage Wi-Fi was patchy, we were able to switch to the resort’s connection, which was fast and reliable. The main bedroom now has a blind over the door so keeps the room dark for sleep. Whilst the property doesn't have a washing machine, there is a laundrette available on the site. One final note for prospective guests: due to the lack of a stair gate, I wouldn’t recommend this for toddlers, and those with mobility issues may find the stairs and kitchen stools a bit challenging. That said, for adults and families with older children, it is a fantastic retreat. I'd be more than happy to stay again!

Generally a nice cottage and nicely presented.

I have to agree with previous comments that it is style over practicality as I don't see the need for 3 sinks in one bedroom and I the 2 mirrors in the main bedroom need the sensors removing as, they wake you up by lighting up the bedroom if anyone gets up for the toilet during the night or; when you want to use the mirror, they don't stay illuminated long enough and you need to keep moving around when trying to use the mirror. Apart from that, I can recommend the property, just bring something to cover the mirrors up at night.

Very enjoyable stay at Whiskaway cottage, was the ideal base to explore the Lake District.

The site had great facilities, enjoyed using the pool and sauna, although the steam room was out of order. Food at the restaurant was great, and good selection of drinks. The cottage its self had everything we needed, quite high tech appliances and tv’s everywhere which the kids liked, good amount of storage, lovely entrance area to leave all your walking gear, coats and boots. Nice little area out the back to wash off equipment if needed. If being really picky could have done with a high dust, but overall a great place to stay, and would definitely recommend.
