    “A comfortable, cosy accommodation with stunning views especially of the spring lambs.”

    Two good sized shower rooms really helps but the twin rooms are really only suitable for children as the beds are not full sized. ( it would have been useful to know this before booking as we travelled with our adult son). A great base to explore the northern Lake District and also close to the coast.

ASPATRIA

Maryport 7.5 miles; Wigton 8.5 miles; Silloth 9 miles.

Aspatria is a small town in west Cumbria which has had a settlement there for over 3000 years. The town is located on the site of an old Roman road and is known for its 19th century St. Kentigern church. Lying just 5 miles from the coast and on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Aspatria is a superb base for discovering the Cumbrian countryside. It has a railway station and a number of shops and pubs. Just a few miles to the north is the market town of Wigton which still holds a market each Tuesday in the covered market hall. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. The port town of Silloth is just a few miles away and has a wide range of amenities. Aspatria is a wonderful location for a memorable Cumbrian holiday.
