Description

Louth 9 miles.

This lovely bright and cheerful log cabin is set within the owner's land, in the small hamlet of Authorpe, nine miles from the pretty market town of Louth.

With wide views over arable farmland, it provides a tranquil retreat for couples wanting to relax and recharge their batteries, while being within easy reach of the Lincolnshire coastline and historic towns.

With mainly ground floor accommodation, there are spacious rooms, with a light and airy sitting room painted in blues and whites creating a coastal feel.

While the high apex beamed roof houses a small snug room on a mezzanine floor.

With a generous sized bedroom and a separate shower room, this very comfortable property feels homely and inviting.

The immediate area offers good cycling and walking opportunities, with quiet flat country lanes and a network of public footpaths.

The charming, historic town of nearby Louth is a delight, with its quaint narrow streets, independent retailers and majestic central church.

With an excellent array of pubs and tea rooms, this “capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds” will appeal to all.

Be sure to visit the nearby coastal seaside towns of Mablethorpe, Cleethorpes and Skegness, with their traditional attractions and long sandy beaches that will appeal to all.

Mablethorpe is home to a seal sanctuary and from October to December you can visit the grey seal sanctuary at Donna Nook where you can watch the pups being born in their natural habitat.

With such a variety of attractions in the area, a visit to The Nook will be the first of many.

We had a lovely stay at The Nook.

It was spotlessly clean and they provided everything needed. The garden was also bigger than we ecpected and our dog loved it. We would definitely stay again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Nook.

The first time being 6yrs ago. It is still an extremely well maintained property in a quiet village but ideal to use as a base to visit the local areas. Everything you could want in the kitchen area , large bedroom with very comfortable bed. Seating / reading area up a flight of stairs on a mezzanine if you want a quiet area to read with views across the surrounding countryside. Our hosts greated us and were very friendly leaving us to do what ever we wanted to do but there if we needed anything.A nice surprise was the orange juice, fresh eggs and cakes left for us for our arrival. The enclosed rear garden was ideal for our 2 dogs to wonder around once they got used to seeing the sheep and the ram on the other side of the fence. The ram was a handsome chap who I took a liking to as he was so friendly. Small decking area overlooking fields was a nice place to sit with a glass or 2 watching the sun set. Tuesday 705pm - 720pm the mobile fish and chip van calls in the village outside the village hall less than 3 mins away from the Nook Excellent fish and chips and reasonably priced,a must if you are there on a Tuesday. I would highly recommend The Nook. Louth market on Wednesday was a nice day out parking on one of the many car parks available and at £2.10 for 3 hours reasonable. From Louth we took a 15 minute walked to the Woolpack Restaurant/pub. where we had BBQ pulled pork bap with chips coleslaw and salad. Loads of pork I had to ask for a container. The Sea Croft pub in Mablethorp well worth a trip to Good food reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Difficult to find any fault with this accommodation almost everything was excellent (shower could be better) We had our Dog with us and the facilities for the Dog could not be bettered.

Owners were always helpful. Location just as you would want it for a relaxing holiday. If you want busy then your just ten minutes away from the "seaside" Would be happy to return.
